Stella listened and nodded her heads as Ariel explained her knowledge on the weather. "Oh err yes, that would be perfect thanks!" She blushed and looked over at her bags. She grinned at the stallion who was helping out. She couldn't wait to move in! It was definitely going to be fun...

 

"Ahem... er, right...  Excellent, the Town Hall is this way."  He then began to lead the two into the center of town.

 

 

She frowned and turned to the stallion, "Uh, do you hear something?"

 

"I tend to hear a lot of somethings at any given moment," Plagal responded without thinking.  "Er... though that's probably not what you meant..."

 

Wings, behind us, his consciousness told him, I'm guessing that's what she meant.

 

Right... thanks.

 

 

As Corkscrew was Scheming his plan high upon his cloud, he hears a familiar voice and two new ones. He pokes his head down to see whats going on. He sees Plagal and two mares he had never seen before in Ponyville. He keeps to himself, fallowing the group in the direction of town hall. Corkscrew was going to ask Plagal for his advice on romance once he had a moment. He didn't want to embarrass himself in front of the mares that where with him. He was hoping by hovering behind them he wouldn't be noticed, but it may have been too late.

 

He turned around to see a familiar face.  "Oh, hello Mr. Corkscrew!  I was just showing these two mares to the Town Hall.  Do you... er... do you need anything?"

"Ahem... er, right... Excellent, the Town Hall is this way." He then began to lead the two into the center of town.

He turned around to see a familiar face. "Oh, hello Mr. Corkscrew! I was just showing these two mares to the Town Hall. Do you... er... do you need anything?"

As Aerial turned round to see what the noise was, Stella grinned sheepishly and waved with her hoof. She set herself on the floor and tucked her wings in, to then begin walking. The sound stopped. But she couldn't stand walking, flying was so much better and fun. She took off from the ground and began doing a couple of small tricks in the sky every now and then.

(OOC: Wait.... what?  Whoops, yeah, my bad.  Page 6, post #118 confirms it; apparently you guys were in the Town Hall the whole time.  Crap... sorry about that.  Hm... well Plagal was heading to the town hall anyways, so when he entered, he could have heard Stella, and is now leading them to someone who he thinks might be able to help them.  I guess Corkscrew could have seen Plagal enter and followed him in?  I don't know if that makes any sense...)

Corkscrew turns his head to the two mares. "Nice to meet you, I'm Corkscrew."

 

He looks back to Plagal. "This may sound weird coming from me, but I need your advice. I'm a little stresses. I just came from the library and had a talk with Twilight. I can't seem to shake these feelings I'm having for somepony. Do you remember back a month ago when we first moved to Ponyville and I told you about my crush? I don't know if it is just a crush or something more. I need to find the way to work up the courage to talk to her about it and was hoping you could give me some advice."

 

Corkscrew takes a deep breath.

 

"Pagal, when you get a chance, I need to talk to you about something"

 

Corkscrew turns his attention to the two mares again. "Just a quick question. Do you two plan on participating in the annual Ponyville Pegasi Race? I hear the defending champion, Rainbow Dash will be in it again this year."

Dogboots knew that having the root around was illegal in all of equestria and he also saw the hilarity at the situation. Here he was standing in front of a princess with an illegal substance for potion making and he needed to get rid of it. The stallion kept composed and took a deep breath. "Listen I need help getting rid of this...root. I don't want to explain it but I can't burn it cause it will attract too much attention and burying it isn't going to help either. So....I was thinking that since your an alicorn who specializes in magic. Would there be anyway you could just make this stuff disappear?" He asked Twilight. Dogboots had no idea which was worse. Going to Royalty to help get rid of an illegal substance or the idea behind it all.

Twilight look at Dogboots and turn her head to look at the saddle bag full of those roots. When she look at them it look familiar she turn her head and ask him " Are those root illegal if so why do you have them" Twilihgt look confused at him. "And yes I can help you but you have to tell me why you have them in the first place" Twilight ask Dogboots.

Fire Star

Fire when home to put away his groceries. When he got home he enter his home and start to put away is groceries after he finsh he made some lunch. He look outsaid when he  eating his lunch after he finsh his lunch. Fire left is home and decided to go to city hall he thouhght maybe he can fine some friend there. Closed his door and off to city hall.  When he got there he enter city hall and saw Piagal and Corkscrew ther he walk to them before he said a word to them. Fire saw a beautiful light blue pegisai he ever saw in Equestria. He ran to hide for them before they saw him and he saw a nother pegisal he thoughts "Maybe  the purple and light blue pegisals are friends maybe" he thought. But he can't stop looking at her he do not no why but before they saw him he slowly walked away to the door before they saw he. Hoping Peagal and Corkscrew didn't saw him.

Plagal looked absolutely puzzled by this.  He had expected to have new experiences while in Ponyville, but never had he thought that somepony would ask him for relationship advice!  He found it almost comical.  "Are... are you serious...?  Er, I mean... um... yes, yes I do vaguely remember you mentioning that.  Wasn't it concerning the yellow peg-" He stopped himself before he said any more, remembering that the two of them were in public and Corkscrew was obviously taking measures to avoid the mare's identity getting out.

 

"Well, I suppose it doesn't matter who it concerned...  Anyways, um... er... I will admit that I'm probably not the most qualified to be giving out relationship advice-"

 

Understatement of the century, his consciousness added.

 

"-but, well... I... "You know what, I think your right.....I hope.." Corkscrew gulped. "I have been at this for a month. I confessed my feelings the first time I saw her and worked them out...Then when Max had his love potion incident, I slowly worked them out. Now this, I feel may be the granddaddy of them all. I....I had an interesting experience in Canterlot yesterday, and it sent it all rushing back."

 

Corkscrew was looking around to see if anypony in town hall was listings in.

 

"You see, I plan on talking to her about it tomorrow after the race. The reason I came to you was....well...because of a song I heard in the palace during my training. " I well take the root but you need to take your firend to the hospital for his addiction. Know one got over ther addoction that easily I will help if you need me to" Twilight said to him. " I shold report this to princess Celestia but I well not. Because you doing your best for helping him out  but you still need to take him to the hopital." Twilight smile. Twilight took the saddlebags full if the roots and she grab a box she had. And empty the saddlebags in to the box and give back the saddlebags to Dogboots. " I well take care of them" Twilight smlie.

"Actually, now that I think about it, you wouldn't happen to be talking about The Blind Cherub, would you?"  Plagal chuckled as the nostalgic memories of that piece came rushing back.  "Ah, that was a lovely piece to compose.  It had perhaps the best cello line I've ever written.  Well, in my opinion at least.  Anyways, there's sort of a funny story that became its inspiration...  You see, it was the Grand Galloping Gala quite some time ago, maybe five or six years?  I had been invited because one of my pieces had been chosen to be performed.  I attended, reluctantly, and quickly realized that the party atmosphere was not for me.  So, I left the main hall, miserable and grumbling, to go to the only place that I could find some peace and quiet; the Royal Gardens.  I got out there, and... well, just the sight of the garden... it was... incredible, to say the least.  Every dark and brooding thought I had was simply washed away and forgotten.  It was so beautiful, so perfect, I... I would almost say that I fell in love with the sight.  It was so... so odd, falling in love with a garden!  It was as though some idiotic sightless cherub had fired its love arrow and I was the unlucky target."  He suddenly realized that he was starting to get emotional, and immediately stiffened.  "Ahem...  Well, yes, that's the story behind it.  Make of it what you will.  In any case, I wish you the best of luck and shall keep my hooves crossed for the both of you."

It would end up ruining his business selling pain relief potions to the hospital and it's his only way of making a living. Not only that, but I want to give him the chance to redeem himself. After all he's gone through a lot this past month. Anyways, I appreciate you not reporting this to Celestia. Now I got to get back home and check up on Max to make sure he's okay." Dogboots said before leaving the library. The stallion had another reason for going to Twilight though. He needed to test her to see if everypony in royalty was the same. "Perhaps...perhaps she's not like the others. Still, it's way too early to make any assumptions." He thought to himself about the new alicorn princess.

On the way back, Dogboots had noticed a pegasi wobbling around the town. He soon bumped into the pegasi and nearly fell back. "Either you look like a stallion who can't hold his cider or you've hit your head." He said commenting on the gray pegasi's condition. "C'mon, on your hooves pal." Dogboots said getting the stallion back on his hooves. "I haven't seen you before so i'm guessing you're new here? Name's Dogboots and you are?" He asked the gray pegasi.

Darksun was walking to the mountians to go looking for gems for her to use on her dress that she was making for somepony he didnt know. He thought to himself "i shouldve left a note for corkscrew at home so he knew were i was". "Oh well" he said to himself.

Rarity went down to Fluttershys cottage to see if she was home, shed like to spend a little more tim e with her friends and get the stress of the lost gems off her shoulders.

Max, flying home after failing to find the sign-up sheet, heads up to his secret lab, not bothering to close the hatch. He saw on one of his desks, a RS potion hangs from a rack. The last potion made with the root. Max promptly throws it against the wall, shattering it to pieces. He nailed the bottom portion of the formula for making them. The potion smudged away the root compound, the runniness dripping down to the floor. Suddenly it hit him.

"Wait a minute..." He flew over to the wall. clearing away the smudge and drying it with his wings.

"The chemicals in the root gave it the novelty effect, but what if..." Max starts writing down new pieces in the formula, checking cabinets to make sure the ingredients were present.

"If I mix that with that with the fluid found in the orange dragon flower...the properties pony made supplements would react violently with naturally occurring elements...if I add that here to blend with the regeneration chromosome...keep at aboooouuut...75^oF..." Max stood back, looking at the new formula. He rushed to one of his many work benches to create this potion. He worked with more care than ever before. After finally completing it, Max took the potion in hoof, admiring the white liquid.

"If this works as predicted, this should restore the ability to see color to color blind ponies!" He rushed out, keeping the potion strapped to the belt he attached around his waist. He headed straight to Canterlot, thinking who he could tell of his discovery. The thought hit him immediately.

"Dogboots' brother! He is high up in the scientific community!" He rushed to his home, getting their in 35 minutes flat. After taking time to regain his breath, Max knocked on the door.

Neutron was reading the latest textbook on Quantum Physics when he heard somepony knocking on his door. The colt checked the time and got up from the recliner. "Wonder who that could be?" He thought as approached the front door. Neutron soon opened the door and was surprised to see Max. "Oh! Hello there...Max? is it? How can I help you?" He asked the green pegasi.

"I font know how much you know of alchemy, but what I have discovered may very well be a major breakthrough in medicinal alchemy." He sat down at the chair across the desk.

"You are the only one I know that can effectively share this discovery." Max put the potion on the desk.

"If this does what I made it for, I may have discovered a cure for color blindness."

The young colt soon sighed at how Max had rudely let himself in. "No no please by all means let yourself in..." The colt muttered to himself as he followed Max into his study. "I know a few things about alchemy and what's in this potion that makes you believe that this will lead to curing color blindness?" He asked the green pegasi.

"Believe it or not, but the formula for this originated from the Rainbow Sight formula. I...had a bit of an addiction to these potion. I got rid of the key ingredient though, I assure you. Anyway, when I saw the formula, and removed the Everfree root from the equation, I had an epiphany of sorts. I began experimenting with this, adding elements from natural supplements like the orange dragon, and mixing it together with different medicinal components, like the draconian regeneration chromosome, making sure one doesn't overpower the other." Max didn't realize that he was at a whiteboard, writing down the EXACT formula that he had discovered as he spoke. A month ago, this would be gibberish to him, but it made perfect sense now. After finishing, he sat back down, looking between the potion and Neutron.
"So the properties that gave the user the rainbow tinted view, when not being affected by the root, will work with the subjects retinas to mend the damaged portions and use the color elements to 'kickstart' his vision. The potion, in theory, should allow the subject to see color for at least 7 years, at which point they need to take another potion. It should have little effect on ponies with healthy vision. I need a test subject for this, and if it works, then we are one step closer to curing total blindness."

"hmmm...I remember doing a bit of work on alchemy a few years ago. Anyways what you have here is definitely interesting and the formula makes sense. We can definitely present this to the board in the next two days though we will need time to prepare for the presentation. Once it's presented it's up to the board to decide whether or not this should be pursued. If the board does go through with it then they just need to get Celestia's permission to research this further. All together it would be nearly a year before we could even begin testing this formula out." Neutron said explaining the process of how it would all possibly turn out.

Max may know how to make potions, but he didn't know how to deal with a board, or protocol, or clearance. That was Neutrons field. He wanted to see this through, though, so if he had to wade through a sea of red tape, he would.

Also it would be wise that you didn't reveal that you had a potion addiction otherwise you might end up seeing some jail time. Anyways, I can set up a presentation fairly easy it shouldn't take me too long either. If you can, I'm going to need you to provide me some of your notes. I could work off on the formula that you provided me but i'm going to need as much information on this if we're going to have any chance at convincing the board." He said advising Max on what to do. Neutron knew how tough it was to please the board and they barely recognized him due to his knowledge on physics.

"That journal has every note, formula, discovery, and experience I had since starting alchemy a month ago. There should be plenty in there for you to use. I already have an idea of how to adjust the potion to treat complete blindness, but it is risky, and the ingredient I would need is only found in Draconia. But your right in that if they believe this to be helpful in curing blindness, they may go with this."

Neutron took note of some of the potions that Max had tested on himself as well as the ingredients that went into each potion. "Thank you Plagal! You have no idea how much this means to me. I think by knowing the meaning of the song will help me work up the courage to finally ask her if the feelings are mutual."

 

Corkscrew could feel his stress lifting knowing that whatever the outcome, they would still be friends, or at least his mind kept telling him. His mind was now back on his job and Ponyville in general. He notices the sign up sheet for the race and thinks about putting his name on the roster. He stares at it for a few seconds, noticing that Rainbow Dash had already signed up.

 

"....this may be a good time to renew our childhood rivalry.... and get my flank kicked again....maybe I'll ask the mayor if she needs any help officiating the race."

"Hm. I see then. Well, let's just take it one step at a time. It would be wise to start with color blindness before moving onto curing total blindness. Otherwise the board might have reason to reject the project altogether." He said looking over Max's notes and logs of the potions.

 

"From what I can tell, most of these results from your previous...works. Have had the desired effect and you also created pain relief potions which would provide an excellent explanation. Having some medical experience isn't bad either still there is a problem. Without any certification on alchemy the board will definitely question your theory. I've seen it happen to many ponies who tried to offer theories and get rejected for not having any certification. Which begs the question. What got you into alchemy?" Neutron asked Max. It was strange to him that Max had such knowledge on the field and was even stranger that he didn't bring any of it up about a month ago.

"Oh! why hello there Corkscrew! I can't really think of anything that's left for the race. Pinkie Pie and Spike volunteered to commentate on the race. The only thing I could think of would be to have somepony at the finish line and account for everypony that's crossed the finish line." Mayor Mare said trying to think of what else there was to take care of the race. She had been busy dealing with some of the new ponies that had arrived that she didn't have time to think about the upcoming race.
