Fire look at the Mayor Mare and said" Is ok with me" Fire said in a happy tone.  "um Mayor If you do not mine I will help Corkscrew on tell the Rece start if that is Ok"  Fire said to the Mayor.

 

He look at Corkscrew and siad" It not fare you are not in the Reace I wanted to reace you I know you will beat me but it would've be fun. My be next time I guse" Fire said in a kinder sad.

Dogboots wasn't one for standing around and talking all day. "You got some pulling to do." He gestured to the wagon that was piled high full of fertilizer bags. Dogboots knew how difficult it was to pull the wagon and at best he could barely pull it going at a slow jogging speed.

"Hmmm, well if you want you can help set up the banner for the race or you can make sure that the race trail is clear or any dangerous obstacles." The Mayor said addressing the exhausted orange pegasi.

 

Corkscrew

"Thanks Mayor," Corkscrew said as he yawned again. "I'll get right on both, but first do you know of anywhere I can get some coffee really quick?"

 

Corkscrew looks around, only to see a table with doughnuts and coffee.

 

"Never mind," Corkscrew yawned. "I think I found it."

Corkscrew drank a few cups and was beginning to feel a little more alert. He grabs the banner and a few tacks and flys to where teh sign was supposed to go. From his perch, He could see Plagal coming towards the starting point. He attaches the sign and waves at the stallion.

"Storm Cloud! Let's get moving." He yelled across the field. Storm Cloud saw how far Dogboots. "Oh buck," he said to himself. He got the wagon and tried to jog. He barely moved! He wished he could use his wings to help him move faster, but he was training for a ground race. So he tried to power trot his way to Dogboots. He was moving but slowly. He was using most of his strength. Then he began to jog at a very slow pace. His legs felt the burn and his breathing got heavier. After a while he was closer to Dogboots

Darksun and Rarity went down to Fluttershys cottage first to see if she was home and wanted to come to the race and watch with them. The also asked if she wanted to bring angle bunny. I hope she does said Rarity as the pets passed around a ball of yarn, Darksun thought it was funny to watsh ormmar play with a ball of yarn

 

Fluttershy

 

Fluttershy had just finished her morning chores when she saw Rarity and Darksun coming down the road.  "Oh!  Hello Rarity!  Hi Darksun!" she called to them.  It was still a little bit weird to be talking to the brother of the princesses so casually, but she had gotten used to it over the past few weeks.  He really was pretty much like everypony else, just with both wings and a horn.

 

It seemed that they were curious whether or not she was going to the race today.  "Oh yes, I was planning on going to cheer on Rainbow Dash and Applejack.  I'll be ready soon, I just have to go and grab Angel bunny."

Dogboots could already tell that Storm Cloud was having a difficult time pulling the wagon at a slow jog. He approached Storm Cloud and helped pull the wagon. "Can't let you have all the fun. Besides i'd rather get back as soon as possible and I know you want to as well." He said pulling the heavy wagon along with Storm Cloud. The difficulty of the task wasn't as bad considering that both the earth pony and pegasi were now pulling the wagon.

"I'm going to clear the course than I'll just be watching it, rooting on Dash, and maybe, just maybe having a talk with a certain mare."

Now Storm Cloud was beginning to get worried about his competition. He wanted to earn a reputation around Ponyville for being a quick pegasus, but how can he if he can't win a race?

"But wait, weren't you the one who convinced me to enter the race to try and earn a reputation? Storm Cloud asked while pulling the wagon. "I'm pretty sure you did. Anyways, Rainbow Dash is entering the race? She seems like the lazy type of pegasus to me." Storm Cloud watched the sun rise as he pulled the wagon. He's seen the sun rise a few times, but never in Ponyville. And the scenery of the Sweet Apple Acres really made it look more amazing.

"I should've seen that coming. And a sonic rainboom? Interesting." Storm Cloud thought about it, and he was determined to do it. He had to beat Rainbow Dash in the skies. He was one of the fastest flyers in Cloudsdale, and he was popular amongst the pegasi who partook in the underground races. But first things first, he had to do good in the ground race in order for Rainbow Dash to even consider a race. This madehim pick up his pace while pulling the wagon. He had a very determined and competitive expression on his face.

Corkscrew

Corkscrew had finished clearing the course, making sure it was safe for the race. The coffee he had earlier was starting to wear off.

 

"Thanks for the help Fire Star, but if you'll excuse me, I think that cloud is calling my name for a nap."

Corkscrew flys up to the cloud, only to find that it was already taken. He would recognize that Rainbow mane anywhere. Seeing as it was the only could to be seen, he decides to wake up the napping pegasi.

 

"Hey, move over Rainbow Dash, quit hogging the cloud. I want to take a nap too. Besides, don't  you have a race today.

 

Rainbow Dash

 

"Hey Corkscrew whats up? Yea, I have a ........race...... Ah horse apples. That's TODAY! See ya later. I gotta go get warmed up."

 

Rainbow dash left the cloud and flew down to the staging area of the race. She began stretching her leg muscles and waited for her compaction to arrive.

 

"Hey Corkscrew," She hollers up at her vacated cloud, aren't you going to race?" 

The only response she gets is Corkscrew snoring.

"Well, that sounds reasonable," Plagal said.  "Anyways, you appear to be busy, so I'll leave you to your work.  Also, I wish you the best of luck in your... er... your 'chat'.  To even be considering such a thing makes you a braver stallion than I."  With that, Plagal went off to find a good place to watch the race from.

Dogboots looked at Storm Cloud curiously. He never even mentioned RD doing the sonic rainboom then again most ponies knew about it during the young flyers competition. Dogboots had read about it long ago but it wasn't really of interest to him at the time.

Fire Star

After Corkscrew and Fire finishing things up for the race. Corkscrew thank Fire for the helping him and tell Fire he was go to take a nap on a cloud and he fly up and Fire say bye to Corkscrew.

 

Fire decided to walk the the starting line to see othre racers. When Fire got ther it was a lots of racers in the race. Suddenly he saw a rainblow main blue pegisai " That must be Rainblow Dash. Twilight tell me about her she Twilight friend well let me introduce myself to her" Fire walk the Rainblow Dash.

 

And Said " Hello Rainblow Dash you not know me but I know Twililght I here friend and my name is Fire Star. And I in the race this is my first race in ponyville I hope you take it easy on me and the other racers O"' Fire said in a friendly tone.

When the two stallions arrived at the house Storm Cloud said, "So since we're pretty much done what's next Dogboots." Rainbow Dash was still on his mind. He really wanted to challenge Rainbow Dash to a race in the skies, just to make his mark around Ponyville. He thought this was one way of attracting the Wonderbolts to him, and probably one of the best ways to attract the Wonderbolts to him. He knew he was a fast flyer, and so will others when he beats Rainbow Dash in a race.

 

(To everypony else, the race is starting? Applejack and I haven't even arrived at the spot of the race yet though.)

"Alrighty then." Storm Cloud removed all the equipment. Then he ran around the house as fast as he could. The first thing he noticed was he wasn't getting very tired, which was a good sign. The next thing he noticed is that his strides were way more powerful from when he first ram around the house, which probably meant he was getting more distance with each stride. Storm Cloud got faster, and he knew it.

 

"Vinyl......., Vinyl? VINYL?!" After a few days without social interaction, and living on this unknown house, The G-Pony can't stand it any longer'

Does she know anypony entering the race? Now Vinyl wanted to go see the race.

He knew he could be a threatening competitor in the race. And that's just what he wanted. After he does good in the race, his next goal is to beat Rainbow Dash in the air. Now it wasn't only about getting noticed by the Wonderbolts, now it's to earn the title of "Equestria's Fastest Flyer."

But the thought of challenging Rainbow Dash, who pulled off a Sonic Rainboom, was imprinted on his mind. He wanted to race Rainbow Dash, and win. He believed if he beat Rainbow Dash, he could have the potential to beat one of the Wonderbolts as well.
