planning Haunted Castle: SoL

Hello to all! This is my very first time starting a simple idea for an RP. Any suggestions are perfectly welcome and encouraged, but this is the basic idea:

 

For some reason(TBD), SIX (6) ponies, 3 mares and 3 stallions(or fillies if necessary), have met up at a luscious old castle known throughout Equestria as one of the oldest and most prestigious places in all the land. Little did they know that an old evil curse (placed upon by a TBD pony/bad guy) was in place and it was now haunted. 

 

What exactly about it that is haunting is also TBD, but I was thinking along the lines of 'living' inanimate objects, doors opening/closing with traps on the other side, doors leading to nowhere or a parallel dimension (there are limits on this however). Anything that you could think to make this castle totally awesome is fine, as long as it makes sense.

 

Here is a picture of the castle I was thinking of for reference. It is in the middle of a lush woods on a mountaintop: 

 

 

 

 

Rules. Pretty much all normal rules apply such as;

 

- No godmodding

 

-No alicorns

 

-No Mary sue/Gary sue

 

-All OOC discussions should be posted HERE, not on the actual RP thread

 

-No killing off any characters, whether it may be your own or someone else's. Mysteriously disappearing is fine, as long as you join the group again sooner or later.

 

-Please no foul language. Pony cuss words are fine such as "bucking"

 

-Please keep this around a PG-13 rating. No sex or extreme bloody gore/violence

 

-Use common sense people. Please.

Oh! Ummm, my idea wasn't exactly the ponies  moving in to the castle, but more of visiting when things go awry. Just to clear things up!

Okay! After looking at some of the new OC's I have reached the following conclusion:

 

1.) Phil Noir

2.) Layla

3.) Sprocket

4.) Shaco

 

Will all be invited to go! This means no more mares, but we need one more stallion to participate.

 

@@Imagine, I would love for you to be a part of the RP as well, but I don't think your OC really fits the story. If he has already had a strong past with the supernatural, be probably wouldn't freak out when weird things start happening, which would kinda ruin the vibe. Also we wouldn't want a hardcore prankster in the group when the whole RP is about tricks and traps already. But as I said if you have another OC you would like to use please feel free to post!

It's nearly midnight where I am, and tomorrow I have to travel practically to the ends of the earth to find some incredible hamburger that needs to be consumed. So hopefully by Monday I can jump in with both feet.

No worries! I wasn't planning on starting till we had a more specific idea of what we were doing and where we were going with the RP. Plus we still are looking for one more stallion to join. I wasn't really planning on starting till about Monday anyway. So take your time and enjoy a hamburger!

C'est magnifique! In that case, I'm getting some rest and will catch up on everything tomorrow.

 

Also, food for thought about the RP: Why are the ponies there? Are they driven there, seeking shelter from a storm and find themselves trapped inside? Then they have no choice but to fight their way out of the haunted castle?

Yup! I think Leaf looks good!  

 

Just make sure that you are okay RPing with him and the other characters.

 

This goes for everypony: start thinking of reasons why we all met up at the same place. I really liked @ idea of hiding from a storm. Perhaps we are all in the woods for different reasons, and then just happen to seek shelter in the same castle. There we meet each other and form an alliance to try to escape from the castle.

It could be like that episode in Adventure Time, where someone anonymously invited everyone for a party at a creepy old castle, and it happened to be one of the people present, and then everyone started disappearing mysteriously. Maybe without the disappearing bit, but trying to find out who invited them all there.

I like this idea! I think we should skip the invitation and just meet at the castle by chance, but I really like the idea of somepony owning the castle. Perhaps at the end of the RP we can meet/figure out who used to live in the castle and why it was haunted.

 

I was thinking something like 'Howl' or whatever for the name of the mysterious pony. (Haha like from Howl's Moving Castle?) Or should he/she remain nameless to add the suspense.

 

What do the others think? Like the plot line so far?

Saying that the RP is PG-13 gives me a surprising amount of wiggle room. Anyone see Avatar? Remember that part at the end where the general gets skewered with a spear? Or pretty much any modern GI Joe movie ever. Anyway...

Yeah, PG-13 is pretty risqué, for, well, ponies. Ever see the last Twilight movie? (Don't.) Anyway, I saw it, and it had a lot of stuff for a PG-13. O_e

I like the story idea. Don't even tell us who the pony is. Leave it as a surprise, or don't ever tell us. Leave it to be the unsolved mystery.

Hello everypony! Sorry I was busy today, but I'm here now to wrap up the planning!

 

Housekeeping items:

 

1.) @, Nice to see you again   Anyways, I don't know if you have seen the first post, but slots for OC's are filled. I don't want too many characters jumbling around the castle all at once. Plus, if there is too many ponys involved, things may get complicated. I'm sorry.   If I'm the only one who feels this way, please somepony speak up. It's not that I'm excluding anypony, I just want the RP to be successful. If anypony has a problem with this or desperately wants to include more OC's please let us know 

 

2.) I have read the suggestions that everypony has come up with and I have reached the following conclusion:

The 6 ponys have all been caught in a horrible storm and have sought refuge in an old abandoned castle. At first they have no idea who each other is, but they slowly form an alliance to protect themselves as they try to escape. As they make their way through the castle the ponys discover who is behind all of this, who owns the castle, and why it is haunted. (This mysterious pony is yet to be named, hopefully something cool and ominous  )

 

3.) Finally, I have decided that I will start the RP tomorrow morning bright and early. That way everypony knows when it will be ready so they can plot plan their first introduction post. I will create the thread and link it back to the first post of this thread. Please remember to keep all OOC posts HERE rather than the RP only thread.

 

Okay that should just about cover it! I can't wait to RP with you guys- I'm sure it will be fun
