"I would love to listen some time. I am not a very musical pony, but there is music I like." Max chuckled at the thought of him performing.

"You wouldn't like my musical offerings. I sound like a manticorn with a hearing problem." He didn't sound at all like that. His singing voice was actually pretty good. But his aforementioned insecurities didn't allow him to have a positive opinion on himself.

Beat nodded. "In that case...come on. My room is just down the hallwa-" he was cut off as he heard somepony yelling something about dinner. "You hungry ? Or do you still want to go make some music ?" He asked.

"I think you're a wonderful singer." Star said, forgetting that Max hadn't known she was on the roof. "We could go back to our rooms and fly down." She suggested.

Nightfall looked down and saw that there was food on the grill. He kept looking out of the window for a bit, as a mare flew past, calling out that dinner was ready. He chuckled, and trotted downstairs, only closing the door to his room and not the window. He soon arrived in the lobby and trotted up to the mare.

"Hey. Are you Lorcan's personally assistant now?"

He chuckled.

On that note, Accent's stomach was starting to moan out for food... What lousy timing. 

 

"Oh... Seems as though I do. Let's head to get something to eat. Then we can record later.", she suggested, moving down towards the lobby to start eating.

"Believe me, if you heard me sing, your ears would be quick to bleed. But I appreciate the confidence." Max really liked this mare. She was kind AND attractive.

"Attractive? Are you suggesting...?"

"Of course not! I am not falling for her! ....Not that I would be opposed to it, but...I mean...Shut up." He shook out of it, in time to here a suggestion.

"OK, we can get a view from outside. Let us return to our rooms. After getting back, he entered his room and approached the balcony. Something about the view seemed to immediately calm him. He fought against sitting back.

"Sorry, got distracted. Let's move." He said, flying just above the balcony.

"I think you're a...I mean...you would be a wonderful singer." Star said, joining him in the air. She then started flying towards the entrance of the large house, hovering in one spot to wait for Max.

Max flew over to where Star was, landing at the front door.

"You remember earlier when we were discussing the benefits of being pegasi? This is one of those benefits." Max said comically. Entering the house, his nose was quick to detect the scent of food.

"OK, it is nearby, follow me." Max fluttered towards the smell in a manner not unlike a cartoon would depict it.

Lorcan waited patiently as he fixed everyones plate. He made sure the plates and the food on them looked like it was a picture from a cookbook.He heard some ponies stirring about inside and was hoping that the dinner he prepared would be good enough for them. Soon i will be able to actually socialize with the guests. He thought.

He looks like one of those stallions that nopony denies as handsome. And he's an alicorn. "I'm Windy Scamper, by the way. But I respond to pretty much any variation of the name; Scamps, Windy, whatever floats youur boat," She said, trying to continue the conversation.

Star nodded and followed him towards the kitchen.
Star liked being around other ponies but when there were big conversations going on...she couldn't get a word in, she was just too quiet. But that doesn't mean she doesn't enjoy herself...she quite likes listening to other ponies rather than speaking...

He chuckle, sitting down next to her.

"And my name is Nightfall. Nightfall Starline is my whole name, but it's quite a mouthful, so Nightfall will do."

Lorcan began to hum a little

to himself as he waited. He then went into the house and called out to the guests. "Hey all! the foods out here and ready to eat!" Lorcan yelled as he began to think. Was Beat Drop called for? All Lorcan do was pick up his pipe and wait for his guests to come. He began to think some more as thoughts popped in his head at random. What if they don't like the food i cooked? What if they don't like me? His heart sank as the last thought came into his head. He decided to wait a while longer until he would eat by himself.After all, he was accustomed to eating alone.

Lorcan quickly perked up. "Ah Windy, come take a seat. We are having some grilled tofu with a flavored sauce imported all the way from a distant country. We also have a special apple tart dessert that hails from Sweet Apple Acres in Ponyville." Lorcan said with a smile on his face.

Max found a table nearby-just big enough for two-and extended a chair for Star before sitting down himself. He could smell tofu grill and...and...

"Are those apple tarts I smell? From Sweet Apple Acres? Sweet Celestia those are good, I would save up buts for them. If they have their special cider I may never leave this table." He said excitedly. He tried curbing his enthusiasm, to no avail.

Star watched him sit down and was about to join him until she heard Lorcan call from outside. "Oh I think Everypony is sitting outside, Max." She said, moving towards the door but stopping to wait for Max. "Come on...I cant wait to eat. I'm starving." She said, looking out at the table covered in food.

"Definitely. You haven't lived until you've tried an Sweet Apple Acres tart." It was all Max could do not to start drooling. He trotted beside Star, taking a seat beside her. Looking at all the food on the table made Max's stomach growl louder than he would of preferred.

"Heh, sorry. This all looks really good." He said, a subtle red tint coloring his face.

"Grilled tofu with flavored sauce? Hm. I've never had tofu. Windy, have you? If you have, could you tell me what it's like?"

And the tarts sounded so good, but he would have to wait, considering that that was dessert and not the main course.

"Nah, not yet. I'm about to, though." She smiled back at him, looking at his blackish blue eyes. She was glad she had met him, instead of sticking around with Accent. He seemed like a nice stallion. "So um, Nightfall, afte rdinner, do you want to get to know each other more? Since we are, friends. Right?" She asked.

"Yeah, that'd be nice. And sure. Why would we not be friends?"

He chuckled, thinking that some of his 'friends' from high school, long gone on their own paths, would have giggled at the phrase, 'get to know you.' He, on the other hand, while knowing what they thought it meant, though it only meant telling stories and backgrounds and forming a closer friendship.

Star nodded in agreement. She was also very hungry and it took everything she had not to chow down on the food. "Don't be sorry...that's just a sign that your hungry, nothing to be sorry about. I feel the same way to be honest." She said, quietly so only Max could hear.

"I know, but my aunt is one of those elite Canterlot types, and she always told me such sounds are impolite." Max said in an equally low tone. This low tone made his voice sound deeper than normal. He remembered his visits to his aunt in her Canterlot home. It was the typical high society home-not as nice as this, by any means- and Max visited her every summer as a foul. If his stomach growled loudly at a meal, he was forced to eat in his room. It was strange to think such bodily functions impolite, and logically he should know that, but child programming is a hard thing to remove.

Lorcan looked around at the ponies. "Start eating my esteemed guests. There is no need to be shy." Lorcan said loudly. He then began to think to himself. All these ponies here,at my island. Some are cute but how do I initiate a conversation with them? Lorcan sat down and daydreamed while nibbling at his food.

Once Accent and Beat had gotten downstairs, something really good managed to slip into her nostrils, as she wondered what it was. "Hey, Beat. Can you smell what that is? It's amazing...", she said, adding a bit of a sigh with the last sentence.

Beat chuckled. "Whatever it is, I cant wait a minute longer. Come on." He took her by the hoof and led her into the kitchen...where no pony was.
He frowned. "Maybe they're all-" He was cut off as he heard some chatter coming from outside. He grinned and trotted out the door, assuming that Accent was following behind.

Star frowned. "She sounds...kinda mean...she sent you to your room when your stomach growled ? That's mean..I mean...forgive me...for speaking...my mind. I shouldn't have done that." She said, blushing and loading some food onto her plate.
She took a few bites and sighed. "Oh my goodness I was hungry." She said, swallowing her food and taking another couple bites.
