Star happily trotted over and climbed into bed next to Max. She rested her head on her soft pillow. "Goodnight Max." She said, kissing him on the cheek before snuggling up close to him and closing her eyes. *Today was the best day ever.* She thought, letting out a happy, relaxed sigh.

Max wrapped a foreleg around Star before his slowly started to drift to sleep.

"Goodnight Star" He muttered before falling asleep with a goofy grin on his face.

Max finds himself in an empty room. Nothing in here but a single desk with a chair. Seeing no other way forward, he approaches the desk. When he gets close, he suddenly is sitting in the chair, unable to move.. Several other ponies, faces long since forgotten, start laughing manically.

"LOSER!"

"WIMP!"

"BUM"

Max put his head down, ears pressed against his head.

"LEAVE ME ALONE!" He hollered, but his pleas fell on deaf ears. Suddenly there was an explosion of blue, and a shining light came through the room. Everypony covered their eyes for protection, but not Max. He looked straight into the light. He saw the silhouette of a Pegasus floating down. Landing right in front of the others, Max was able to identify the mystery mare.

"Star? Is that you?" He called out.

"Get away from him!" She said in a commanding voice. More commanding than he thought she could summon. The other ponies dissipated, as did the desk and chair, leaving just the two left. Star was glowing in a brilliant blue aura, her turquoise eyes shining brighter than any celestial body. He ran over, giving her a tight hug. Tears streaming down his eyes. Tears of joy.

"Thank you." Was all he said.

Max awoke, feeling an odd sense of release. And feeling refreshed. Opening his eyes more, he found himself looking at the back of Stars head. He had her in a close embrace, both forelegs around her chest. He saw her shoulder was damp.

"What the..." He muttered to himself. He bent his head down to one of his upper leg-still wrapped around Star-and gently pressed his eyes against it. His eyes and face were wet with...tears? Sad tears? Or Happy ones? Max slowly started remembering bits of his dream.

"Did I really...?" He whispered.

"Well, that's embarrassing. Not exactly the manliness thing to do, now is it?"

Beat frowned as he heard her mutter something about not calling her sweetheart. "Oh...sorry. You know if you don't want me doing something, I will do my best to stop. There is no need to suffer through my obnoxious flirty comments if you don't want to." He said, using his magic to turn on the light and some DJing equipment set up in the room.

((Whoa, whoa, wait. Did Auron just timeskip to morning? Uh... That was a bit unsaid.. But all right.))

 

Accent looked a little embarrassed from Beat hearing her remark. That had to remain in her thoughts, and she just blurbed it out. She sighed, turning to Beat.

 

"Listen, Beat... I appreciate all the compliments and such... But... I think you're overdoing them a little. I would like to just be called by my regular name, and not by a pet name... I mean, you can say them once in a awhile, but... Just don't go overboard, K?", she admitted, adding a sweet time to not try and disappoint him further.

Star was slowly beginning to come too. At first she wondered who's legs were around her...until she remembered and her eyes lit up with a spark of joy as she glanced over her shoulder at Max. "Good morning Ma-Y-You okay ?" She asked, noticing the few streaks of tears on his face...had he been crying ?

"For you Sweetheart ? Anything." He jokingly stuck out his tongue but nodded. "In all seriousness. Sorry that annoyed you Accent. I'll do my best to stop." He said, walking over to his computer. His eyes widened. "Oh wow...maybe we should postpone this till tomorrow...its ten after twelve already. I'm all up for staying up late...but we may wake everypony else. How about tomorrow after breakfast ?"

"I'm fine. I had a...a recurring nightmare. But then you came into it and...I guess I cried happy tears in my sleep." Max played that statement back in his mind. 

"Celestia that was corny."

"I know that might not be the manliest thing in the world, but I guess seeing that problem finally resolved was...overpowering." Max tried to remember details. Anything that might explain what brought him to tears, more so than just the end of a recurring nightmare.

"You were in it. You yelled at everypony to leave me alone. You looked like a goddess. I mean, that IS what you look like, but it was...stressed in my dream. I'm rambling at this point, but I guess I'm sorry for soaking your shoulder." He said, gently nuzzling Stars neck.

Star blushed. "Aw, that's so sweet of you Max...to dream of me. I...um...I'm happy I could be of assistance." She said, nuzzling him back before yawning and glancing out the window. The birds were chirping and the sky was a slight pink as the sun slowly peeked over the horizon.

Looking out the window, Max saw that morning had arrive. Max gave Star on last squeeze before he gently got up, and headed to the bathroom. Splashing some cold water onto his face was definitely sobering, and help get rid of the streaks on his face. His red eyes, however, were proving problematic. With a single brush through his mane, Max went back into the room, sitting on the bed.

"So, what do you feel like doing today?" He asked. He felt like he knew the answer, but he wanted to confirm it.

As Max was in the bathroom. Star yawned and sat up. She stretched her wings and hopped out of bed, still wearing her pajamas and socks.
She sat down on the bed and looked at Max as he trotted out. "I am happy to do anything as long as I am with you, Max. I would love to explore the island...we could maybe take a dip in the hot tub...or go snorkeling." She suggested, standing up and stretching again.

Max thought for a moment, but then he had an idea.

"Why don't we do a flyby of the island? I find myself with the urge to fly. What do you think?" He said, stretching his wings. He felt good. Good enough to sing. But he wasn't sure if Star would like his singing. Plus the only songs he knew were from that one series...the one with the blue hedgehog. Max couldn't believe he forgot the name. It was only his favorite series. He would look into that later, for now he had a vacation to enjoy with his new marefriend. Speaking of, he walked over to her, realizing he forgot something else.

"And in case I didn't say this yet, Good Morning." He said with a warm smile.

Lorcan trotted out of his room sluggishly. He did not feel the best, but he decided to soldier on downstairs. He subsequently went into the kitchen and made himself a quick bite to eat. Lorcan quickly devoured his food and let out a big moan. Now, I have to come to a decision is my funky mood is going to follow me around all day, or if am I going to change it? He contemplated as he got up; making his way to a room that was adjacent to the kitchen.

                Lorcan went into the room revealing that it was his music room. In the room he had a variety of harmonious instruments. The wallpaper was white with a diamond pattern. The floor was different from the kitchen; it was wooden with a smooth finish. Lorcan got on a piano in the far corner and began playing a

Star laughed. "Good morning to you too." She said, smiling. "And I would love to go flying with you. We could even pack a picnic if Lorcan is okay with it. Can I just have a quick shower first ?" She asked, moving towards the door...leaving her pillow laying on the bed.

"Go ahead. I think I need to get clean myself." Max still carried the faint smell of seawater on him. Star had it too, but by this point, she smelled nice no matter what. He trotted over to the door, opening it. He pecked Star on the cheek before she left.

"See you in a bit." He said, heading towards his own bathroom to shower.

Star nodded and trotted across the hall to her room.

She pulled off her socks and her pajamas before walking into the bathroom. She brushed her teeth, then got into the shower...as usual, she began to sing one of her favorite 

She washed her mane and tail then climbed out of the shower...and brushed her mane and tail, still singing.

Max showered briefly. He came out, clean as a whistle, and with a quick mane brush, headed towards Stars room. He was about to knock, but then he heard singing. Stars singing. He pressed his ear up to the door to listen, and even through the door Max was amazed by her voice.

"Even her singing is perfect. This may be the most incredible pony to ever live."

He listened on in bliss...until he realized that this looked creepy. He quietly walks back into his room, and sits on his bed, trying to look non-chalet. Though he still had a big grin on.

Star finished brushing her tail before trotting out of the bathroom, ending the song. She grabbed herself a glass of water before walking back across to Max's room. She knocked on the door and stepped inside. "Max ?" She called, stepping in to see him with a big grin on his face. "Everything okay ?" She asked.

Letting out a content sigh, Max got to his hooves.

"Better than OK. If today is anything like yesterday, which its looking to be, than everything will be perfect." Max has never felt as good as he does now. This whole vacation was better than he could have ever dreamed. And he has found something that he thought he would never know: Love. And it felt amazing. He held back the urge to shower Star in affection, as they had other things to do.

"So, shall we round up some picnic supplies and be off?" He said cheerfully, with some slight infatuation leaking into it.

Star nodded. "Today will be wonderful. We'll fly across too the other side of the island and have a picnic...go swimming, lay on the beach." She said,letting out a happy sigh and merrily trotting over to the door and pulled it open. "Come on. Lets go find Lorcan and see if we could mix up some sandwiches or something." She said, trotting out into the hall.

"Alright, lets go." Max trotted beside Star as they made their way to the kitchen. Luckily, they actually made it to the foyer and were able to get to the kitchen from there.

"At least we didn't get hopelessly lost this time." Max thought to himself. When the pair arrived at the kitchen, he could here something coming from a room nearby. He followed the sound until it rested on the other side of a door. Sounded like sad piano music.

"Lorcan? Are you in there? Everything all right?" Max called through the door, the thought of food temporarily gone. He was concerned for their host, as he seemed upset-if the music is anything to go by.

Accent had woken up in her room, to see that Scamper was not inside her bed, which was a little surprising... She stretched a bit, and walked out of her room. Her first initial thought was to see if Beat was awake, but... She shook this off and went off towards the kitchen to see if there was anything to eat there.

Star followed Max into the kitchen and looked around for Lorcan. "Hello...is anypony here ?" She called.

 

 

 

Beat had awoken early that morning. He went down to the kitchen before anypony was awake to make himself a cup of coffee. After cleaning up he went back up to his room and sat down on his lap top, mixing up some songs.

 

He sat there for a few hours until he glanced down at his clock. His eyes widened and he stood up, knowing that Everpyony else would be in the kitchen by now. So he trotted out of his room, down the hall and down the stairs towards the kitchen.

Scamps woke up, a bit late, and saw Accent up and about. "Urgh....good morning, Accent," she mumbled slightly annoyed. Not so much at Accent, but for the fact she had woken up. She trudged into the bathroom and brushed her mane as best as she could. She did herself all up for the day, and then returned back to her bed. She glanced over at a pack of cards sitting on her nightstand. Better bring that with me...in case anypony wants to see a trick.

 

She grabbed the deck of cards, put it in her jacket pocket as she threw ir on, and sluggishly climbed down the stairs for breakfast.

 

She was so tired that she didn't even say hello or start a conversation with her roommate.

Max tried to think of what could be upsetting him.

"You mean you did something yesterday besides obsess over Star?" Pushing that thought aside, he thought hard...he...was...alone. Amazed that he didn't realize this sooner, but thinking back, nopony was really talking to him.

"Hey, listen, I am going to grab a few sandwiches and a basket, but later today your welcome to hang out with me and Star Song. We would love your company. So...see you around." Max awkwardly backed away from the door, and returned to the kitchen. He started gathering supplies, but making sure not to use all of one ingredient.

"So Star," He called out as he worked.

"Lorcan seems pretty down. I think he is upset that he was kind of made the 'third wheel pony.' So I told him we were grabbing some things, and told him we would hang out later. After the flyby of course. I'm sorry for committing us like that but judging by the piano music he was quite depressed." Max had two sandwiches made and in a woven basket. Already had a blanket in it too, conveniently. He also stored two leftover tarts.

Nightfall woke up, and grinned almost immediately. Leaving the window open let in the noise of the surf, the warmth of the sun, and the smell of the ocean breeze. He got up and stretch before throwing on a shirt and trotting out of his room downstairs. There, he saw a speck in the distance. That speck turned into a pony, another alicorn.

 

Solara landed on the beach. She looked around and smiled slightly before walking towards the house.

I don't know what's wrong with me. I just can't talk to these ponies. He began to get angry over the fact that he was getting sad. Lorcan proceeded to throw a mini-tantrum by kicking the piano bench. "OH FOR CELESTIA'S SAKE!" He yelled as the pain hit him.

  Lorcan then trotted towards the front door hoping now one would see or hear him. Maybe if i bury my head in sand the sadness will go away...maybe even my breath. He thought as he made his way to the beach.
