"Yeah....I am sorry for kicking in that dresser...but 100,00 bits is a LIIIITLE out of my price range. I can pay for supplies and help rebuild though." Max had about 4,000 bits in life savings, which would be used for this. He once again whispered to Lorcan.

"Ok, so I have 4,000 bits in life savings that I can access back in Ponyville. Could you use 1,000 for supplies and use the rest for the nicest cutiemark earring you can find? Within a 3,000 bit budget of course. Remember, it is to look like mine."

Max turned back around to Star briefly.

"OK, so I am going to be using 1,000 bits from my life savings to pay for supplies. The dresser is extremely expensive, so we will have to make up for that some other way." He turned back to Lorcan to await a response.

"No. I am going to pay for half Max. Okay ? Nothing you can say is going to stop me from doing that." She said, stubbornly, crossing her arms. "And what do you keep whispering to Lorcan about ? I can see you two you know." She said, glancing past Max at Lorcan then looking back at Max for an answer.

Max shuffled his hooves nervously. What was he going to say? He couldn't tell the truth so he was going to need a lie. He thought about it thoroughly before a thought occurred. Brought by the memory of that one dream.

"That pearl...it was in the center of the red cross, where the hole is." He lied, glancing over at his cutie mark for reference.

"Uhh, I was telling him how...I wanted to get a case for that pearl. A real nice case for you to hold it in. So it doesn't have to sit in my hat." He faked a disappointed glare at Star.

"It was suppose to be a surprise." He pouted.

"Please buy that Star. You cant know the truth. Not yet."

 "Dont worry about the supplies I can get them by flight. I am a pretty fast flyer when need be." He said.

"Alright i will do that for you, Max. In the meantime you can start cleaning the mess you made. If you already did that then tell Solara that she is in charge until i get back. I have to leave to go get the supplies now. DON'T BREAK ANYTHING ELSE!" with that Lorcan flew off into the distance rather quickly.

Star eyed Max, giving him a suspicious look. She was about to speak but Lorcan interrupted her yelling...again. She stepped back slightly and shuffled her feet as he flew off into the air.
She wanted to ask Max again but figured it was best just to ignore it. "Its okay Max...surprises usually scare me. I suppose this is different. Thank you." She said, kissing him on the forehead before walking back towards the kitchen.

If she had caught the lie, she didn't show it, Max sighed in relief, and trotted over tot he kitchen.

"Well, he should be back soon with the stuff. Let me grab you something to eat, then I can go tell Solara that she is in charge." Max went through the fridge. He couldn't find anything she would like except...

"How do you feel about chicken? Too gross?"

Star frowned. "It sounds so good...but I still mostly think like a pony...and I cant eat another animal. Do you not have more of that tafu stuff ?" She asked, trying her best to keep her eyes off the raw chicken sitting in the freezer ((I would assume that is where it would be...considering its meat  ))

Max thought about it for a second.

"I think. I bought a lot of it without really looking at its contents, but I assume it was all steak." He galloped up to his room, and began digging through his bag. He found another packet, different from the last one.

"What is this one...nununu no real meat nununu 100% zeb-ZEBRA MEAT TASTE?!?! SWEET CELESTIA!!" Max through the packet down in horror. I suppose that's what he gets for blindly ordering tofu packets from a shady griffin.

"So I get sold cow and zebra meat? I don't recall griffin eating that! Maybe...Maybe the griffin I got it from was more feral? Oh Celestia that's bucked up." He dug through his bag some more, horror plastered on his face. All he could find was beef jerky. He grabbed 2 sticks and headed downstairs. This jerky was a last ditch effort to escape predators, so he questioned why he only bought 2.

"OK, the only other packet is zebra meat, for some bucked up reason, so you may have to eat this beef jerky. I don't know if this is tofu jerky or not though, but it beats the alternative." Max shuddered at the thought. He would later burn that packet.

Star stared at the beef jerky...she was feeling really hungry...even after eating all that tofu from just a couple minutes ago...she was actually starving.

Without speaking she grabbed the beef jerky and ripped open the packet, not bothering to check whether it was real meat or not...she was too hungry as she practically inhaled the jerky.

Max looked amazed at the swiftness she consumed that jerky. He picked up the wrappers. looking on the back.

"OOhhh I see. The left one was tofu, and the right one was meat. I really need to get better at double checking." He said, scratching the back of his head. He realized that he rarely ever checked on the details of such things. He brought bad potions here, bought cannibalistic flavored tofu, and real jerky. It astonished him really. He looked over to the kitchen, and decided to grab himself something to eat. He ended up eating toast. 

"Well, what should we do now. We basically cleaned the messes around here beforehand. All we need to do is let Solara know she is in charge then we got the rest of the evening free."

Star licked her claw's then looked up at Max. "I don't know. I wouldn't mind finding something to eat that isn't meat...or tofu...maybe gems ? I don't know how that would effect me in the long run though. We could go swimming...or sit in the Jacuzzi. Its up to you." She said, picking at a few little bits of jerky that had fallen onto the table.

Max got up, wiping his face for any excess from the toast.
"Let me run up and let Solara know she is in charge. Then we can go to the hot tub. I need some stress released." He said plainly. Considering all that has happened today, he had knots all over his body. He trotted up the stairs, looking around Lorcans room until he found her.

"Solara. Just letting you know Lorcan left to go get supplies. Said you are in charge until he returns." He said in a polite manner. He had to be, all things considered.

"Yes. I'm sure. I need to know if Accent is okay. I need to help fix it." She looked back at her coltfriend with a determined look, to show him that she really meant it. She stepped back up toward the center of the room, to let her presence be knoen. "Um...excuse me. Does anypony know what happenned to Accent and Beat?"

 

"All right, then," was all Nightfall answered. He did, however, follow his marefriend into the room, but he stood off to the side as to "not be a distraction."

 

Solara thought for a moment.

"Well... I thought I heard Star say something about them taking a gender swapping potion and then maybe wanting to stay gender swapped..."

Lorcan flew for a while covering a large distance. He made it to the township of Mustangia where he searched for the required supplies. Lorcan then trotted over to the store that sold lumber and nails.He bought the supplies needed for the house which were then loaded onto a cart with no wheels that was made for pegasus'. Lorcan then spotted a jewelry store on the other side of the town and made his way over there.

 

As Lorcan got into the jewelry store he trotted to the owner and told him what he needed from him. 

"I need the biggest most expensive diamond horn-ring for my beautiful alicorn angel. I also need a cutiemark earring in this shape" Lorcan said as he described Max's cutiemark.

The owner nodded and explained it would take a while for the cutie mark earring. He then showed Lorcan the grand total which came out to be 255000 bits. Lorcan just smiled and tossed a heavy bag on the counter.

"300000 bits for making them both with outstanding quality." Lorcan said with intimidation in his voice.

Max assumed Solara to be busy conversing with the still unnamed mare, and began trotting back to Star. He took it slow, though, as he wanted time to think. He thought about Lorcan returning and rebuilding a floor and a balcony. He didn't look forward to it, but the drive to ensure Star didn't have to do that kind of physical labor kept him focused. Logically he knew that, being a dragon, even a female one, meant that she had more strength and could probably handle it better. But his love and/or sub dragon form was keeping him from allowing it. Then his mind wandered to the earring he had ordered. He had not the faintest idea of what to do when he got it. When would be a good time? How should he do it? What will her reaction be? How will he get one of her cutie mark? All these questions, and he had no answers for any of them. He tried to push the thought out of his head, and focus on the hear and now. But he would need a plan. A plan he had yet to devise. It had to be top notch, high quality. She deserved no less. All too soon he found himself back in the kitchen, and facing Star.

"OK, got that sorted out. Want to head out to that hot tub?"

Star nodded and smiled before standing up and stretching. "Alright. I could do with a little relaxation...I just gotta go to the little fillies room first." She said, walking off down the hall.

 

 

She returned to Max a few minutes later and took him by the hoof before walking out onto the patio.

As Max walked, hoof-in-claw with Star, he looked over at her and realized something. As a dragon, she didn't have proper ears. He frowned at this thought, trying to think where else it could be put. Maybe on those...fins, on the side of her head. Can those even get pierced? Max shrugged it off as he approached the hot tub. He got in, and immediately sighed at the warmth that is had. He then realized-due to the jets, that he had a large knot on his back, right between the wings. And the jets were working to undo it. Which felt painful, yet pleasurable at the same time.

Star sat down across from him and sighed. She closed her eyes and rested her head on the back of the tub. "This feels more like a warm tub...rather than a hot tub. Maybe its the dragon side of me...but this isn't really anything fancy. Its still nice." She said, sighing again. Then...as if out of nowhere she felt a sudden pain in her gut. She winced and leaned forward...but as soon as it came, it went.

Max thought about that for a moment.

"Well, dragons have been known to use active volcanos and lava pools as hot tubs. Perhaps that's why you aren't getting anything special from this. Compared to lava, this is pre-" Max was cut off by Star wincing and leaning forward. Max was at her side in a second.

"What's wrong? What happened?" He asked, clear concern in his voice. He didn't know what to expect, but he was to worried about his marefriend to ponder it.

Star just shook her head. The pain was gone now. "I'm...fine...its nothing, just...its nothing." She said, leaning back again. She tried to just ignore it...but her face still showed some slight concern about what had just happened. "Um...sorry... continue." She said, trying to change the subject.

Max noticed a hesitation in her voice as she spoke. He narrowed his eyes, never letting his gaze off of the dragoness' blue orbs. He talked lower, concern still in his voice.

"Dragon skin allows for resistance to extreme temperatures, allowing them to swim and relax in pools of lava. Hence why this isn't doing to for you." He said, his eyes looking almost...frightened. Fear was something he rarely showed.

"Star...Are you sure everything is alright? These potions are experimental, I need to know of any side effects." He said lowly and deliberately.

Star nodded. "I'm fine, Max." She said, sinking a little deeper into the tub so it was just her head protruding from the bubbling water. She sighed and closed her eyes as she relaxed her wings, letting them open up a little ways. She sighed and opened an eye to see if Max was still next to her...

Max watched as she sank deeper, staying put as she did so. Clearly she felt some sort of pain. That was undeniable. But he didn't know it was. He needed to know do he could deduce what the problem was. But Star seemed bent on assuming it to be nothing. Max knew better. These potions have been mostly untested-at least on the field, he ran several tests before-so this could be nothing, or a serious problem. And whatever it is could affect him, given there magical link to each other. He dug down into that dragon nature, and spoke softly and caringly, but in deeper voice. The odd thing was that he found himself speaking the dragon language. What he is saying translates to this.

"Star, I understand your uncomfortable. But as my mate, I am sworn to protect you. Please, at least describe what the pain was like." He had know idea if she understood any of that, despite the gut feeling she did. The stallion found it amazing that the potion gave the subject an understanding of the ancient dragon dialect. But he would study it later. His "to do later" list was growing at an alarming rate.
