Zoop 8,384 April 28, 2013 Share April 28, 2013 I personally wouldn't be against having additional badges, but at the same time they would need to be able to blend completely seamlessly with the existing set - having a noticeable stylistic differences between badges would look quite tacky, in my opinion. The bar is set extremely high, I'm afraid.

Dusty Soul 2,611 April 28, 2013 Share April 28, 2013 I like this idea. I think the gap should be like 2000 posts between the first two then 3,000 for the next two. Soundcloud-------------------Facebook---------------------------Youtube
Zoop 8,384 April 28, 2013 Share April 28, 2013 Us tech staff need a badge :c someone get on that :3 I don't know. I'm personally more of the opinion that special badges serve little purpose beyond creating a disconnect between those that have them and those that do not have them. Were it not necessary that people know who the moderators and administrators were, I'd be all for throwing the alicorn and royal guard badges out.

I know it may sound simple, but some people look forward to becoming a bird or a Brony and so on. While it's not encouraged to post to get status, it is somethign that adds to the fun of posting and reaching those milestones and thus, I approve of the badges. The Royal guard and Alicorn badges do just the same, having a bit of artwork under your name doesn't really "disconnect" us from each other, thats only achieved by how we act. Thats why I post in forum ames from time to time and talk to people. The badges just serve as a way of identifying who is who and what their current job, role or posting status is at. It would be nice if the badges worked on a system of Post to Time online ratio so that it only went up after a certain amount of time online...but Im not sure if IP board works that way.. It may...who knows... Edited April 28, 2013 by Dawn♥Rider 1 Goddamn right, you should be scared of me Twitter

The Royal guard and Alicorn badges do just the same, having a bit of artwork under your name doesn't really "disconnect" us from each other, it just serves as a way of identifying who is who and what their current job, role or posting status is at. Badges are something that are immediately visible the moment you view someone's post; in some ways, they can stand out more than the actual text of the post itself due to the fact that they're purdy and such - as such, to me, special badges have the unfortunate side effect of immediately labeling those that have them as being different than the rest of the crowd. While there are obviously some differences in terms of role and such, at the end of the day we're all here with the same objective in mind. That is why I say that while I recognize why they are needed, I would prefer that they not be needed, and why I'm not an immediate fan of creating a bunch of new ones. I added a bit more after you quoted me ... "The Royal guard and Alicorn badges do just the same, having a bit of artwork under your name doesn't really "disconnect" us from each other, thats only achieved by how we act. Killian Jones 2,655 April 28, 2013 Share April 28, 2013 My vote is to give me a special Vaporeon badge or let me always be a pegasus, cause that badge was purdy. I am not letting this go. MY PROFILE LOOKS AWFUL WITH IT But I rather see more of a steady linear slope rather than having it take increasingly more time to get a new badge. variety does spice things up. And I much rather see many different purdy badges than seeing a whole slew of people with the same badge while there are a whole lot you just end up blazing through. Some people may even just blaze through badges that only have 200 posts before you get a new one in a day. And it feels like an awful shame to then have them.
Radiance64 7,053 April 28, 2013 Share April 28, 2013 I wouldn't mind seeing a few more around, some nice ideas here. I like the idea of more badges, especially since I have issues with the Brony badge, and wouldn't want to be stuck with it for 7000 posts. It's a step down from the awesome pony badges, IMO. Seriously, the badge looks like a belt buckle: Suddenly I want a Sega belt buckle... o.o
SCS 7,537 April 28, 2013 Share April 28, 2013 I honestly don't think we need anymore badges. I've seen very few people who have 3,000 or more posts. Maybe in the future when there are more people who have that many, adding new posting badges would be necessary.
Lunia 332 April 29, 2013 Share April 29, 2013 I would think of it this way: 5,000: Griffon 7,000: Wonderbolt 9,000: Shadowbolt 10,000: Certified Brony Alicorn Perhaps we could have a new staff badge, too. I can't think of a good one though. I could go along with this it seems really cool but, anyone I agree on because of the major gap we have between the badges Signature made by me.
