Do you know why Spike doesn't find crystal ponies tasty?

I think it is because he does not like ponies, and, as such, would not like a crystal pony. They're not entirely crystal, you know.

I do know that it must have been difficult for him to carry the Crystal Heart all the way down without even licking it, but his mind was rather preoccupied.
