Ocean had read the menu twice and was sipping some tea when she noticed Nightfall enter the Dining room.

She smiled and gestured for him to join her. "Hey..." She said, using her magic to pull out a chair for him to sit down as she sipped some of her jasmine tea.

 

"Oh, hey Ocean. Thanks."

He sat down in the chair and smiled at her. A waiter came up and asked if he'd like anything to drink. Nightfall looked at Ocean.

"What is that your drinking? I mean, what kind of tea is it? I'd really like to try it..."

He looked back up at the waiter, then back at Ocean.

Sweat dripping down his face, Windy finished his run, feeling like he had finally purged himself of all the bad stuff that had gone down in the theater. Breathing heavily, Windy decided he had earned a nice, cool mug of cider. Heading to the nearest bar, Windy plopped down on a stool and ordered a mug. However, a cry by a familiar sounding voice for a glass of water turned Windy's attention to another part of the bar, where... Scamps and Airy were?!

 

"Holy hay... I can't catch a break, can I?"

 

Despite trying his best to not make a sound, Windy let out a very audible gasp that he was sure both ponies heard. Instead of running away and putting as much distance between Scamps and himself as he could, Windy froze up, becoming stiff as a board. As they noticed his presence, only one thought was running through Windy's head.

 

"Uh-oh..."

Airy still wasn't sure how Scamps was doing. He had recieved his glass of water and was ready to use it if necessary, but first he wanted to wait another while if Scamps would react.

 

And then he saw him.

Windy Runner.

What did this stallion do here?

 

Windy Runner was able to see a face nopony had ever seen on Airy Movement. A face of rage and hatred that had a clear message:

 

Better just stay away from me.

"Wha...? Oh, hey Airy. You know, I was just thinking about you. You and me. How cool ot would be if I could stay here, yeah, that would be cool," she replied to him, her voice obviously showing that she was drunk. "Funny I should see you here. Ya know, I don't wanna leave you. Cus' I love you. But what has to be done has to be done..."

 

She sat on her chair, swooning and swaying, and not being able to stay upright.

 

And then she saw him.

 

The evilest pony of all evil ponies.

 

Windy Runner.

 

"Oh, hey Windy Runner! Ya know, we have some unfinished business, you and I. You see this state I'm...I'm in now?" She said, stuttering. "I did this because of depression, that came from heartbreak. Which, naturally, came from you. And here's a little secret, that only one other pony knows; I'm running away tonight. Just packin my bags and flyin away. And you can..." *hic* "guess why."

 

((Just to let you know, Scamps is just barely drunk, basically mild effects of laughing gas. It'll wear off soon-ish.))

"Uh... Ah... Look, Scamps... I really don't know how else to convince you that I really am sorry! I mean, I didn't know you liked me that much! I just... Bolt told me she liked me, ok?! And I was really psyched, and I agreed to hang out with her! I know it wasn't right! But I wasn't thinking about that right then! I don't know what got into me, I'm not a jerk like that normally! I hate to see you this sad all because of me, but please don't leave the ship! I mean, what about Airy? Aren't you guys getting along well?" Windy offered feebly, trying to keep from inciting either pony's wrath. Wiping a bit of sweat that was running into his eyes away, Windy took a step towards the two. If Windy had seen the look on Airy's face, he probably wouldn't have done so...

The waiter nodded, smiling, and turned back to the kitchen, leaving Nightfall and Ocean alone again.

"If you ask about Sunburst and Fire Sky, she may think you don't appreciate her company- Oh, fine, I'll ask."

"Sunburst and Fire Sky should be here... Or they said they'd be here. Do you know where they are?"

Laray stopped, sighing on the inside.

"Sorry," she mumbled. "I wasn't trying to embarrass you."

((I'm going to be on a little less then normal. My parents added a password to the WiFi and I'm almost out of school so I can't use their WiFi anymore. Sorry if responses come a little slowly :/ ))

'Great, you messed it all up,' she thought. 'Let's just hope nopony really realizes who I am.'

Airy did listen to Windy Runner's words, and technically his apology was the only right thing he could have said, but then again it might have been even better to just be quiet. Airy's right fore hoof almost hurt from the tension that wanted to make Airy slap the stallion's face, but he had to hold it back. Violence wouldn't help him now - not now.

Holding back became even harder when Windy Runner made a step forward while talking to Scamps. Now was a good moment to relieve some of the tension. Airy's right fore hoof was thrown at a point just an inch in front of Windy Runner's chest. There it stood still, firm, but without contact.

"Stand back. Move one step closer to Windy Scamper and you'll see that I'm not as weak and harmless as I may look. If you need to talk to her, do it, but you do not even try to touch her."

Airy's pronounciation was a lot stronger than usual, you couldn't not notice how he felt. All the time he didn't take his eyes away from Windy Runner's.

Dogboots and Laray left the theater and yet something caught the stallion's eye. There was a bit of a spill in the lobby and though it seemed like such a minor thing to worry about. "It's none of my business. Maybe somepony just couldn't hold their soda." He thought to himself

Laray stood up and left with Dogboots, blushing at his kind gesture of protection. She was glad that she met him.

'I'll never be embarrassed or ashamed to be seen with him, but life should get easier once I quit...I guess I love him,' she thought.

 

((Yeah, I know I can try to get on the computer every now and then but it'll probably be every other day, sorry I'm upset at my mom))

"So where do you want to go now? We can keep walking for a bit or we could chill out somewhere. It's your call." He said walking side by side with Laray. Suddenly Dogboots had remembered the drunk stallions from before.

 

"Why were they after her? It seems awfully odd that they'd just chase her and not somepony else. Were they hired by somepony? The threat letters could possibly contain something though I doubt it. Though that one bulky stallion that was guarding her door didn't seem drunk. Was he their leader? Not only that but Trollsie only took out the three drunk stallions. Did she take out that other one? I'm thinking way too much on this. It's probably nothing...at least I hope it is."

"I don't mind if you pick," Laray said. "I haven't been on many dates, so I don't exactly know what couples do."

Trollsie strolled the halls absently. She was happy to have finished up the fan mail and take a break. She finished her walk and went back to the mail. She found one particular death threat that had something scratched over it.

The address had a sticker over it. Trollsie peeled it off to see the real address. It was sent to Chic Magnet, somewhere on the cruise, whoever he was. Trollsie opened the letter. She read it.

When she finished, she dropped the letter and burst out of the room.

'Chic Magnet must be the leader. How could I have missed him?' Trollsie thought. 'Laray's in trouble. If they follow the plan and strike at midnight, I had better be ready.'

 

Just as Trollsie rounded the corner, a claw grabbed her neck.

"Look at this," the teen dragon called, "Isn't she the guardian of the mare you're after?"

The dragon lifted her in the air. She beat her wings to prevent strangulation.

Chic Magnet stepped out of the shadows.

"She is. She must've gotten our 'accidental' letter," he said. "Dispose of her."

 

<meanwhile>

A silent pegasus darted across the sky. He spotted Laray and Dogboots below.

"I'm going in," he said into his mic. He dove, tackling Dogboots. He held him fast to the ground.

Laray broke the stitching on her skirt, revealing a hidden blade. She sat on the pegasus' back, blade against his throat. More reinforcements came in, guns trained on Laray.

"Nopony move!" she cried. "Or he gets it!"

"Ah... well, then. Another jasmine tea in addition to the current one being topped off, please."

The waiter nodded, smiling, and turned back to the kitchen, leaving Nightfall and Ocean alone again.

"If you ask about Sunburst and Fire Sky, she may think you don't appreciate her company- Oh, fine, I'll ask."

"Sunburst and Fire Sky should be here... Or they said they'd be here. Do you know where they are?"

 

Ocean shrugged. "I was asking you. They're both really nice ponies and I would love to get to know them a little better...same with you." She said, smiling. But...a few seconds later her smile was replaced with a blush and she glanced down at the floor. "I mean...cause...you know, you guys are all really nice ponies..."

He was quiet for a moment, until the waiter came back with his tea and with the refill on Ocean's tea.

He smiled again, and set his tea down as the waiter left; it was steaming, so he didn't sip it at all.

"Well if it's all good with you, I'd like to walk around and take in the sights of the ship." The stallion replied.

 

The couple took in a few sights of the ship and for once the stallion was enjoying the cruise. Other than Nightraxx's problems, everything seemed to be going good. The couple were soon on the deck and just walking about enjoying the weather.

 

"I've never felt this way about a mare. If this is love then I never want to stop being in it and-" The stallion's thoughts were interrupted when a pegasi flew down and restrained the earth pony. It all happened too fast for Dogboots to process but the next sight was even more unbelievable. A group of stallions had seemingly came around the corner all armed with weapons Dogboots had never seen before. Laray was holding the pegasi hostage and Dogboots was behind a corner next to Laray.

 

"Okay, this is...new? Never seen those types of weapons and I didn't know Laray could even use a blade."

 

Dogboots pulled out a small bag from his vest pocket. He tossed it up and down and threw it on the ground between Laray and the gang of stallions. A dark cloud of purple smoke exploded blocking both of their line of sight. Dogboots soon grabbed Laray and bolted towards his room. He didn't have time to look back or even say anything until they were out of sight. The stallion bucked open is door and pulled the mare inside before locking the door.

 

"Well, there goes Trixie's smoke bomb. Never thought I'd ever have to use it but still."

 

"What in the name of Celestia was that? Who were those guys? Why do you have a blade hidden in your skirt?" He said still stressed from their escape.

He almost spaced out, but then shook his head, blushing, realizing he had been looking at Ocean when he nearly drifted away into his own world.

"Well, I figured that since the last incident I probably should carry this around again. I used to carry it around, but I thought it'd be safe on the cruise and I grew careless," Laray explained. "And I know that this seems a bit difficult to chew. I knew that they'd be around, but I didn't think that they'd try anything." Laray gulped. "They're mostly thugs.They want for money. If they can foalnap me, they can get an extremely high ransom from my mother. I am sorry that I didn't explain this earlier. It's not safe around me. I understand if you don't want to see me anymore. It's just me and my bad luck."

"I would never leave you." He said before kissing the mare. Dogboots cared deeply about Laray and accepted the dangers that would come.

 

"Now, If your going to be using a knife, make sure you know how to properly use it." He said twirling and tossing the knife before handing it back to Laray. Dogboots always had a habit of playing with knives ever since he was a filly.

"Rifle? Were those the weapons those thugs were using?" He thought questioning the term though he soon shook it off and didn't mind it.

 

"Here. Practice with this." He said handing Laray a butter knife. The stallion soon took back the blade that she was hiding and began to show the mare the basics such as stance and holding the blade properly. He even showed her how to properly do a takedown though it felt weird for Dogboots seeing as how he was using her as the demonstration. Seeing as how there was no training dummy to perform the move on. The stallion really had to focus and keep himself from blushing when he was incredibly close to her.

 

"T-that's basically how you do it ummm pretty basic there." He said as he was beginning to blush. "Still, I want you to practice with the butter knife. I don't want you cutting yourself up. I learned that the hard way heh."

"Butter knife, eh? Maybe I could find some toast to practice on!" Laray laughed. "I really appreciate your help. I cannot express the number of times I've needed others to help me. You and Trollsie are the biggest helpers...Trollsie...wait, if they attacked me, where was Trollsie? She's always there when I'm attacked!" Laray began to panic.

 

<meanwhile>

The dragon gripped Trollsie's skull as she dangled, wings tied, over the engine gears..

"Look like it's bye-bye to a member of Muffin Guild!" the dragon laughed.Trollsie pulled a muffin out of her hair and stuffed it in his face.

"Derpy *cough* 'll getcha!" she choked.

The dragon smiled cruelly and dropped her into the grinding gears.

"I'll go find her. You just stay here and keep the door locked. Don't even open it for anypony unless you know for sure that it's me okay? If somepony tries to break in then escape or hide." He instructed Laray before leaving.

 

Dogboots first searched Laray's room to find her friend but there was no trace of the pegasi. The earth pony exited the room only to see a group of workers rush past him. He barely caught a glimpse of their faces but there was definitely a sense of urgency. Dogboots soon pursued the group to see what the problem was. He had followed them all the way to the engine room and before he even entered the room a sharp cold shiver went down the stallion's back.

 

He slowly entered the dimly lit room. A group of earth ponies were gathered, some were horrified at the sight. Dogboots soon made his way to the front only to see a horrifying sight. Trollsie or what was left of the pegasi was caught in the gears. The look on her face was one of terror and one that would stick with the stallion for a long time to come. He soon saw a muffin on the ground and picked it up from off the ground. The earth pony knew that it belonged to Trollsie though he had no idea how to break it to Laray.

 

Dogboots walked back to his room. His head hung low, depressed and angry that someone would do something so awful to Trollsie. He knocked on his door and pulled out the muffin still unsure how to break it to Laray.

A look of annoyance flashed over Windy's face. Here he was, trying to make things right with a mare he had hurt badly, and Airy was thinking he could tell Windy what he could and couldn't do? Smacking Airy's hoof away from near his chest, Windy growled,

 

"Look here man, I'm just trying to make things right with Scamps, ok? So why don't you just put a sock in it? I don't need you of all ponies telling me what I can and can't do." Windy said, taking a step closer to Airy so that he was looking down on the crippled pony.

 

"Easy Windy... Don't do anything you'll regret... Or anything that's too stupid... I won't be the one to start anything brain, but Airy was being disrespectful! Who does he even think he is? I could thrash him in a fight! Yes, you could Windy, but what would that make you? The bad guy, that's what! Don't let your pride blind you! Fine, I'll give the dweeb a pass this time... But next time I won't be so forgiving..."

 

Taking half a step back from Airy, but still sneering haughtily down at him, Windy muttered, "Those are big words coming from a little pony... Here's a bit of life advice Airy, don't make promise your hooves can't keep..." Turning his attention back to Scamps, Windy instantly transformed his demeanor, dropping the prideful wrath he had been unleashing on Airy a moment ago, and going back into an apologetic posture, hoping she would accept his apology, or at least stop being so sad and angry at him.
