That's . . . actually a pretty good point. It could be that whoever is the "Atlas" character tries that same spell to become an Alicorn. Fittingly enough, that spell affected cutie-marks. Perhaps Prince Praetorian (just roll with it for now) tries to infuse himself with the remaining POX in the city and indeed becomes an Alicorn but something of an "imperfect" one. He looks perfectly fine and he has all the power, but his genetic makeup is unstable and he's basically a dead man walking.

 

 Could be a plot point where he tries to find a way to restabilize his genetic makeup, though it'd probably be a doomed venture. Just throwing it out there

Well the final boss was Atlas when "Hulked up" on Rapture's remaining ADAM. The only equivalent to such a powerful transformation I can think of would be to go Alicorn. Unless Atlas isn't a pony. Actually that would make sense. Seeing as he lied to Jack about his identity to begin with. He could be a dragon who does what Spike does in "Secret of my Excess."

I'd hate to see what that kind of creature would do with the power Atlas had. It'd be horrifying at the very least.

Indeed. The idea I had was that POX would become his hoard. He's greedy for it all and gives in to his draconian nature. Of course this runs into an obvious problem . . . well . . . Spike leveled more than half of Ponyville. And it wasn't on the bottom of the sea.

Touche . . . then again, keep in mind, we are playing in the city during the events well before the game takes place. So whoever "Atlas" is substituting for may not be out final foe. Indeed, it may simply be retaining our sanity long enough to aid the "Jack" character.

Sorry, I've sort of capped the OCs at this point. I might do one for Bioshock Infinite later, though.

It takes place in a city called Rapture Euphoria Elysium Harmony, The little sisters are called little fillies, and the big daddies are called... Big Daddies, and they are mechanically enhanced to be like alicorns. Plasmids change cutie marks, as opposed to genetic code. They were made by a yet-unnamed pony/dragon pretending to be a pony. Tenenbaum is being replaced with Ziska Teneneighbaum (Yes, I combined the two names) A zebra with an affinity for alchemy. The city was founded by Andrew Ryan/more ponyish name, a gryffon who was displeased by the two princesses growing power. Our characters are all basically the insaine artists from the game, with exception to my stuffy business pony, and one other short-tempered pony (I'm a nightmare with names, sorry). ADAM is replaced with POX, and Plasmids are replaced with a name that isn't as awesome as plasmid Potion or something. What did I (inevitably) miss?

Not much. Just that Big Daddies were called "Big Brothers" if you were going with my pitch. (I'm honored if you are.) Plasmids/potions don't change your cutie-mark per se. They just give you a new one and the skills associated with it. A fully "Jacked up" pony would look like an alcoholic's sticker collection. It may not seem too horrific in comparison to the Splicers deformities, but remember how horrified everypony was to Applebloom's condition? In Equestria, it's unnatural, therefore just as horrific by the setting's standards. The Jacks schizophrenic/psychotic behavior takes care of the rest to give them the threatening air. Also, if we are starting at "The New Year's Party" shouldn't it be something more Equestrian, such as the Summer Sun Celebration or Hearts Warming's Eve?

 

I'm just throwing it out there that Andre Ryan be substituted with Galt the Griffon, just to make the metaphor come full circle.

I liked Windbreaker's idea. That said, after we've each made our sort of introductory post of arriving in the city, we should also get a fast forward. e.g. 4-5 months later. That way we get the impression that we've been living there for awhile and become somewhat established in our goals before everything goes to Hell.

And Apple Bloom ate the "Heat's Desire." They could be made to ingest the modified version that doesn't grant ANY cutie-marks so there bodies and minds are being conditioned to compensate for the lack of the effect. Like . . . I really hate to say this . . . a drug addiction.

I'm thinking that the plant takes root inside the host to process POX, and the conditioning is the same as in the original story.

 

Also, a friendly reminder to anyone who might be a bit rusty with Bioshock's backstory, the Big Brother program is still in its first stages. The little filles won't be gathering from corpses until the war starts, and there are only Alpha Series big brothers for now, the Bouncers and Rosies won't be created until the hostilities start and the fillies have to suck POX from corpses in the middle of all the fighting.
