Dusty's ears twitched when she mentioned dragons. Dusty had seen one once.

 

He remembered the day he had traveled to the Foal Mountains, near Baltimare. He had just reached a mountain path, which lead downwards to the bottom, when he suddenly heard a distant flapping sound, it sounded like wings. At first he thought it were a bunch of pegasi, but when he turned to see what it was, he saw a giant, red lizard with wings flying majestically through the air, away from the mountains. It was a truly marvelous sight.

 

"Dragons.." he said. "Yes, dragons are amazing creatures, though I have only seen a dragon once in my life." Dusty spoke in awe.

 

"It would be awesome if there would be dragons landing here."

Maybe staying behind to observe most of the scenery outside wasn't the best idea... Already, Rockshire was completely bored, and hopped off the fence, looking around the area to see where everyone had went...

 

After a few minutes of looking around to see where everyone had gone, she had managed to find the barracks and began to walk around.

Night Song listened to everypony's answers and made no complaints when the little group parted ways for the night until the next morning. The only one left was Rambler, who then offered to sing a song. Being attracted to music of many kinds, the pegasus nodded eagerly. "Sure, go ahead!"

She used her magic to flip open her journal, and began to draw the field so she could remember it later. As she drew, she began to hum to herself. Dusty the watched her as she opened the journal book with her unicorn magic. She started to make a sketch of what seemed to be the fields they had just looked at. "Her technique is really great." he thought. Suddenly, she began to hum a melody, which he has never heard before. It sounded gentle and calm, emitting a feeling of peace.  "Where did she learn this melody, it is really beautiful..."

 

He didn't want interrupt her melody with a question, so he kept on listening to her beautiful humming.

Apollo continued to stand outside of the barrack style structure. He then noticed one of the guests approaching.

"Attention! I mean hello, do you need some help settling in?" He asked in a deep tone.

He quickly peeked his head in  to see what the rest of his guests were doing.

Crystal finished her  drawing the same time she finished her humming. She has gotten really good at ending both together. Though she doesn't realize it. The drawing was a very detailed sketch of the field. She made sure to pay extra attention to detail so that she could locate it easier. She essentially tries to take a picture with a pencil. She had actually forgotten that she had company, and in setting her notebook down, she sat down on her haunches, leaning against the barracks, just admiring the view. The peace Crystal was emitting was nearly palpable.

Rockshire nearly jumped from hearing the command bellowed out of nowhere. Unexpectedly, she pulled an about-face, and looked directly at Apollo. Realizing what she had done, she began to blush a little, not quite visible from her reddish coat.

 

"Oh, I'm sorry about that... I was outside for a while, and I had decided to come in. You said something about rooms, correct? Am I assigned a room as well?"

Neon Fire walked out of her room after getting settled.  She had placed her bags in there and set everything up.  She looked around the hallway and wondered what the other ponies were up to right now.  She continued to look around some more, noticing they all seemed occupied.

Dusty had watched her sketching and humming her melody. She was very concentrated and seemed to be sunken into her work. When she was done, Dusty looked at the finished drawing. The sketch was brilliant, very complex and made with care for the details. 

 

Crystal then laid the notebook to her side and sat down near the barracks wall, leaning onto it. She looked so untroubled, it even calmed Dusty a bit. "Can i?" he asked her for permission to sit beside her.

"Oh, I see... I figured that you would have assigned rooms right at the beginning. My apologies, Apollo.", Rockshire said, looking through the rooms. There seemed to be a vacant one right at the end of the hallway that was perfect for her. She had placed her saddlebags down right next to the foot of the bed, and went back out into the hallway.

 

"Yes... This will suffice."

Apollo was a little offended by her statement. He began trotting towards her in a hostile manner but quickly calmed down. 

no no shes not a recruit...shes just an innocent mare. he thought as he realized he stomped down the hall to her.

"Is there anything else i can do for you?"

Flame sat up...laying there wasn't productive and his dad always said to keep things productive.

He yawned and stretched before walking out of his room...after stepping out of the door he didn't know what to do...so he just kinda stood there awkwardly, unsure what to do.

Dusty smiled at her response and carefully sat down on his flank as well. "Thank you." he said cheerful, but calmly.

 

"Your drawing sure is amazing. You have captured the spirit of the field really well." he said in a respectful tone. "I guess this is your way to relax and give your fantasy a vent to release itself."

 

He thought about what he did, when he was in stress or wanted to do something creative...He liked to build things, little gadgets, machines and sometimes even buildings.

 

"Well, i am not a gifted artist, but sometimes, i like to create things as well" he said while he looked up into the sky. Small clouds, they had to be in a very high altitude, decorated the otherwise clear blue sky.

"No, it's alright," she replied, walking down the hall and looking around.

 

She saw Flame sitting there alone, seeming like he had nothing to do either.  She slowly walked over, thinking of something to say on her way there.  She stood in front of him awkwardly for a few seconds before saying anything.

 

"Um...  Hi," she said.

Dusty cheerfully replied : "I like to build.I build many kinds of stuff."  He thought for second. "But i think i like to build gadgets and houses the most. I love to design them as well, i always try to fulfill the imagination of the inhabitants, that will eventually occupy them."

 

He looked at his hooves. "Sure, it is not easy to do it alone, but i always try my best and am happy when the customers like their new home."

 

The sounds of nature filled the scenery with a feeling of peace, which he enjoyed.

Flame was pretty sure that was her name but thought it best to make sure...he had never really been that great with names...sorda.

"No thank you, this is all I would need. I'm truly grateful for all of this, Apollo.", she said, taking a small bit of a curtsy, before looking around the hall.

She only drew one thing from the imagination. When she was a filly. She drew what she thought a Minotaur looked liked. It didn't match up to the reality.

Dusty blushed at her compliment. "Thank you." he said. "Sometimes the customers really have funny and interesting design choices...but if that makes them happy...i'll always try to comply."

 

He heard that she mostly draws sceneries, she is looking at and considering to try to draw from her imagination.

 

"Well, maybe you should try it out. If you can get to imagine a picture clearly in your head, i am sure it should be no problem for you to transfer it to paper." he said re-assuringly.

Crystal nodded. She thought hard for a moment, and then, it hit her.

"One second." She trotted back inside to grab her sketchbook. Retrieving it, she came back outside, resumed her spot, and began drawing the first thing she imagined. She worked slower, as she needed the details to come to mind before she could visualize them. She had her tongue stuck out in concentration.
