"Hi Eve. Hi Fire." Crystal said pleasantly, shaking their hooves. She...wasn't being shy. How? How is this possible? She never was this confident. Maybe...maybe being around Dusty is like a natural confidence booster. Like being around her lover was helping her be more active and open. 

"How are you guys enjoying the vacation so far?" She asked brightly, still surprising herself.

 

Dusty gladily shook Fire's and Eve's hooves, excited to meet new, eventual friends. To say the truth, Dusty felt so immeasurably happy today, having met his very special somepony he dearly loved, that he could have hugged the whole world.

 

He heard Fire's remark about her loving performing "So she really is a circus performer, that's awesome" he thought.

 

"There are so many talented ponies here, it's really quite amazing" he said and smiled. "The thought of the only creative activity of mine is to build houses and gadgets kinda makes me feel a little embarrased im comparison" he said jokingly and grinned.

 

He saw Sir Apollo, he liked to call him by that name, because of his time in the Royal Guard, in the distance, looking in their direction and remembered he still wanted to sincerely thank him for the invitation.

Fire smiled at the mare and nodded. "Its hard to tell this early...but so far it's been quite fun." She said, looking at Eve. "And its kinda hard to explain...I LOVE performing. I love it so much. But I hate being in the midst of a crowd...its different when you're on stage. Because I never actually have to go out into the crowds. As I said earlier, I just go hang out in my trailer." She said, smiling at Eve.

Eve smiled. "Well... I guess that makes sense." She shrugged. "But it doesn't have to make sense if that's just how you are," she amended herself.

Eve chuckled. "Mine is gardening and herbalism. It's not like mine's that interesting, either." She looked at Fire. "Not next to somepony who juggles burning torches and stuff for a living."

"It can be a bit too much for me. I love this place. It's peaceful, yet you can create liveliness easily here. I would gladly give up my home to move out here."

 

Rambler nodded. "I can understand that. One of the joys of the life of a traveller is how peaceful it can be when your out on the old lanes and back roads by yourself. And you have a point about this place. It's quite nice, isn't it? I think I'm really going to enjoy my time out here."

"Yes, the establishment here is quite divine... Though, there's nothing wrong with a LITTLE liveliness here and there. I believe that Apollo here had made my expectations here quite met. But, there's one thing that I just find preposterous. "Finding your special some pony? How ludicrous can that be?"

Rambler shrugged. "It was a strange thing to put on the invitations, certainly: advertising the place like some kind of dating service. But, I don't see why it couldn't happen. Everypony here seems to be young, good looking, and, as far as I can tell, single, so it could certainly happen. This place does seem to have the right sort of environment for romance, if you ask me. But still, to come here expecting, no assuming, to find your special somepony seems pretty silly."

Apollo made his way over to the group. His face quickly turned from happy to hostile as he approached the guest all of whom seem to be in deep conversation with one another.

Fire blushed after hearing Eve talk about torches. She was about to reply but Apollo spoke first. She looked up and nodded, curious to hear what he had to say.

 

 

Flame chuckled and followed behind Apollo. He walked over to where the group stood and turned to listen to Apollo.

As they talked, it occurred to Crystal that, while everypony else had physical abilities, she was no good in any physical activity. Her major skill was art, and it didn't stray from that. She can cook well enough, but is far from a high grade chef. She found it interesting that everypony had such diverse skill sets. She was about to talk, only to be cut off by Apollo. She turned to see what he needed, taken back slightly at the military edge in his voice.

"You took the words right out of my mouth, Rambler. You can't build a romance off of a few days. Trust me. I have traveled that road way too many times.", Rockshire explained, jumping off the fence. Rambler shrugged. "But still, you shouldn't completely close yourself off to the possibility, you know? Even if it doesn't always have a happy ending, you have to try or you'll be alone forever. Besides, maybe you can at least have some fun with it. But I guess that's just one pony's opinion."

Rambler rolled his eyes. "It looks like our host wants to have a word with us. I suppose we'll have to continue this conversation later."

 

Heading over to where the others were gathering, he looked over towards Apollo and waited for him to say something.

Eve smiled at Sky for a moment, reassuringly, before turning to face Apollo. She was surprised at the military tone - seemed to find it amusing, in fact - but she held her silence, merely smiling faintly as she faced the ex-Royal Guardspony with the rest of her little social group.

Rockshire looked over to hear that Apollo was basically commanding them all to go over to him. "Well, let's see what he would like.", she muttered as she went over to Apollo. She could already see that there were some ponies right near him. Especially one that looked awfully familiar.

"Alright, I assume you are all settled in. I want you all to journey into my apple orchard. there you will pick apples and make a pie. Any questions?" Apollo said with a certain strictness. He looked at them all and unknowingly gave a coy expression.

now to see if theres any group dynamics between these ponies. He thought to himself. In reality, Apollo was hoping to use the group in a social experiment where romance was clearly a present theme.

picking apples will show the mares the stallion is strong, releasing chemicals in their brain making them attracted to the stallion. the baking of the pie will strengthen the bond between them...hopefully

Eve raised an eyebrow. "Working in the orchard?  Well, that's every day in my life." She shrugged, and turned to trot towards the orchard. "So much for having a break from my job." She didn't actually seem too upset about it though.

Dusty had seen Apollo approaching; and when Apollo reached their group. he called out to them much like a sergeant would to his squad, but then quickly tried to take on a much more casual expression. Dusty found this quite amusing.

He and the other ponies, who had been relaxing or holding conversations around the farmstead, had now gathered in front of Apollo, who then voiced his inquiry in a pretty authoritive manner.

"Picking apples? Well, that's no problem at all, i am used to climb high structures all the time, mostly when i repair or build houses or am climbing mountains." he said cheerfully.

He looked at Crystal and asked a little shyly "D...do you want to bake that pie with me...? I am...not that much of a cook, but i certainly can gather the apples!"

Working in an orchard? That is an interesting vacation activity. Crystal was pretty good with her TK spell-she has to be in order to draw well-so picking apples shouldn't be a problem. She turned to Dusty.

"I can help with the picking with my TK spell. As for the baking...well I CAN cook, but I am not that great at it. But we can give it a try." She said cheerfully, pecking his cheek before heading to the orchard.

They both than proceeded to walk towards the apple orchard. The orchard itself was pretty big. Apple Trees, who carried various kind of apples were scattered all around the orchard. "Whew, that's a pretty big orchard here"

Apple picking? Oh splendid... That is the one thing my way of catching details can't get past... A good apple is hard to distinguish from just simple looking...

Eve smiled. "It's not hard," she said. "You could probably literally pick the apples instead of just bucking them down from the tree, with those wings. I'll probably hang back and judge whether they're good or not." She looked back at a colt who was the spitting image of Fire. Except bigger. And stronger. "Your brother can walk with us if he wants to."

Apollo walked behind the group making sure they didn't muck about. He looked at his trees and back at the group.

"I assume you all know how to pick apples. I don't want my babies harshly handled." Apollo announced. He couldn't help but to feel a certain longing to find his own special somepony as he observed the group interacting with one another. Apollo didn't show his romantic side much due to his time in the guards as well as his sensitivity about his skin.
