Crystal hoped that their other friends would catch up, but she wanted to get a jump on this.

"Let me see how big this orchard is. One second." Crystal's horn began to glow a bright red, before she was gone in a bright flash. One could see occasional flashed shoot out from the tree line. After 10 minutes of this, she returned to Dusty in a red flash, panting.

"OK, so *huff* it isn't *huff* as big as *huff* an Apple family farm *huff* but it is *huff* pretty big." She said. Her horn's glow finally died, and the unicorn sat on her haunches.

"Just *huff* give me a minute." She said, clearly fatigued from the excess magic use. She remembered why warping here was a bad idea. Its exhausting.

Fire listened intently and glanced back at Flame, using her tail to gesture for him to join them.
Flame looked up at Fire and nodded. Smiling slightly he trotted next to the two mare's and looked around at the orchard. "I've never done anything like this before...its gonna be fun." He said, smiling. "Eve was just telling me that we could just pick them rather than buck them...I dunno, I suppose it all depends on what Apollo thinks." Fire said, looking from the apple tree's, to Flame, then to Eve.

Fire listened intently and glanced back at Flame, using her tail to gesture for him to join them.

Flame looked up at Fire and nodded. Smiling slightly he trotted next to the two mare's and looked around at the orchard. "I've never done anything like this before...its gonna be fun." He said, smiling. "Eve was just telling me that we could just pick them rather than buck them...I dunno, I suppose it all depends on what Apollo thinks." Fire said, looking from the apple tree's, to Flame, then to Eve.

Eve shrugged. "Yeah, it depends on Apollo's opinion." She looked Flame Dancer once up and down, then murmured to Fire, "I guess your whole family's just been blessed with good looks, huh?" She smiled softly at the mare before returning to Flame Dancer. "It's not that hard. I do stuff like this for a living. But I figured I'd give other ponies a chance to do it, eh? I'll just make sure you get all the good ones."

Dusty and Crystal had almost reached the orchard, when she told him that she wanted to see, how big the orachard really was. Her horn began to glow in red and then she suddenly vanished from her spot. He then saw flashes coming from the trees sometimes. He guessed she was teleporting around the orchard, to determine it's size.

 

After a good 10 minutes, she finally reappeared in front of him, heavily breathing. The teleporting procedure had to be exhausting. She told him the orchard was not as big as the apple acres from the Apple Family. which he had seen on one of his travels to ponyville, but still considerably big enough. She sat down on the floor to rest for a short while. "Ah i see, that still pretty big." he said while he watched her taking a short break. "Teleporting around like that sure must be exhausting, i guess."

Eve shrugged. "Yeah, it depends on Apollo's opinion." She looked Flame Dancer once up and down, then murmured to Fire, "I guess your whole family's just been blessed with good looks, huh?" She smiled softly at the mare before returning to Flame Dancer. "It's not that hard. I do stuff like this for a living. But I figured I'd give other ponies a chance to do it, eh? I'll just make sure you get all the good ones."

 

Fire blushed...she assumed that Eve was sending that in her direction rather than Flame's. "Thank's, Eve." Fire muttered, still blushing.

Flame smiled. "We'll see. I have a bad habit of being bad at everything that isn't performing. But...I suppose you never know, Right?" He said, chuckling.

Fire blushed...she assumed that Eve was sending that in her direction rather than Flame's. "Thank's, Eve." Fire muttered, still blushing.

Flame smiled. "We'll see. I have a bad habit of being bad at everything that isn't performing. But...I suppose you never know, Right?" He said, chuckling.

Eve didn't seem to notice Fire's embarrassment, as she wasn't really looking at the mare, but muttered a, "Of course," before responding to Flame. "Yeah, you never know until you try, Dancer," she said, smiling softly and reassuringly at the colt. 

 

Come on, they're fire. Why are you even bothering to talk to them? Fire is bad for your plants.

Rambler smiled. "Well, that's not too bad, is it? Me being the only one you've interacted with, that is.  Anyway, let's get going then. I'm not really sure why this is so important, but I have a feeling Apollo will be mad if we don't get to work. And I'd rather not anger the host on our first day here."

Part of it was her music career while the other was her shyness to help out. She took flight and followed Rambler and Rockshire. "Well, yeah. If the host gets unhappy, then everypony gets unhappy. It's like a chain reaction! So yeah, I'll help you two if you want."

Fire didn't take her eyes off Eve...she was just so...amazing. She was sweet, pretty, talented...she was just wonderful...but there was also a voice in the back of Fire's mind that kept talking about how Eve...was probably straight.

When Eve said she didn't like "fire" Fire felt a slight pang...only to be replaced with a face hoof. Eve literally meant...she didn't like fire. *Come on Fire...do something.* "So we just fly up and gather the apples ? Sounds easy enough." She said, spreading her wings.

"Hmmm... I have no quarrel with that. Besides, you two could pick off the apples, and I could slice them up. That way, the activity would rush by a lot faster, and that we would have our pie baked quite fast as well.", Rockshire explained, showing a small bit of a grin to Night Song.

Night Song gave a small salute and nodded ecstatically. When she heard Rochshire's plan, she flew down to her and spoke in a small voice. "It'll be great if we can finish fast, but also don't go so fast that the pie is lacking in quality," she said, recalling a story about how two brothers challenged the Apple family to a quantity vs quality competition. She always applied that lesson when writing a song.

Rambler didn't hear what Night said to Rockshire, although he was aware she had said something. He chose to ignore it and move on. It was around this time that they reached the orchard itself. "Alright, here we are. I guess it's time to start picking. Night, since you can fly, you knock the apples out of the trees, and I'll collect them and bring them to Rockshire. Does that sound good?"

Eve chuckled. "No worries, Sky. I don't blame him for being him." She took a deep breath. "I love the fresh air here," she said. "It's fresh at home, too, but heavy with years of magical residue. It's nice to get away from that sometimes." She breathed deeply again, and knelt in the grass.

"Sounds good! Get ready you guys," Night Song called as she began to shake the branches of an apple tree. A couple red apples fell out and were laying on the ground, ready to be collected by Rambler. Putting all her strength into it, she continued shaking the tree.

"Great work Night! Keep it up!" Rambler shouted up to her as he quickly picked up all the apples and rushed them over to Rockshire to be sliced. "Do you have a knife Rockshire? Because if you don't have one with you then you can borrow mine to slice the apples."

Finally having her breathing under control, Crystal looked up at Dusty.

"When unicorns use magic too much, it puts a strain on them and can cause headaches and vomiting. It is similar to if you work out too much, I suppose. The mind is a muscle after all." She stood up, feeling like she recovered enough energy to begin picking. An apple on a nearby tree glowed in a magic aura as it was TK'd off a tree. It floated down in front of the unicorns coltfriend.

"Give it a taste. I am sure Apollo wont mind." She said with a smile. It was weak, as she was still worn.

Dusty listened interested to her explanation about unicorns and their usage limit of magic. "Well, you Ünicorns sure are amazing." he said  "I guess even Magic sometimes has it's little drawbacks, huh."

 

Crystal then stood up, seemingly refreshed. His beloved one then went over to one of the big Apple Trees standing near them. Her horn glowed, and one Apple started to shake and finally ripped free from it's branch. It levitated right in front Dusty. Crystal cheerfully instructed him to take bite. The apple sure looked tasty, but the fact, that had used her magic on it, made it even better.

 

"For me? Thanks. Well, here goes!" he said cheerfully and proceeded to take a big bite out of it. "Hmm...hmpf...gulp!" he chewed and swallowed it energetically.  "It's fantastic!"

Crystal smiled at the positive reception the apple got. She brought it over to herself, flipping it to the side that was uneaten. In hind sight, it shouldn't matter, considering she has kissed him, but old habits die hard, I suppose. She too really enjoyed the apple. Again, it wasn't Apple family quality, but it was very close behind.

"This IS good." She floated the apple over to Dusty, setting right in front of him. She looked around to see if there was a basket. There was, near a tree leading into the orchard. She could use the TK spell very effectively without tiring due to it constantly being used for her drawing. The basket, and the entire tree, began to glow. One by one, the apples plopped off, and floated down into the basket. It took only a minute to complete a tree.

"Benefits of being an artist is advanced lessons in the TK spell." She said proudly at her display. In art classes, it is common for unicorns to learn advance techniques in this spell to improve their performance and quality. It was the one class that Crystal aced in school, getting B's and C's in all the others. She moved onto a different tree, and again, the tree glowed a bright red and apples began flowing into the basket.

Apollo trotted through the apple orchard looking at the guests. He saw two groups consisting of three guests. Upon further inspection he saw that the first group was Flame, Fire, and Evergreen. The second group looked like it had Rambler,Rockshire, and Night Song.

He decided to check on the first group, hoping to strike up a conversation.

He smiled when she ate the apple herself and seemed to like it as well. Dusty ate the rest of the delicious apple.

 

He then watched Crystal, as she started to to lift up a basket, which had been standing near a tree and, using her unicorn powers, collected several apples from the tree. The apples one after another broke free from their position and floated over and into the basket. After a very short time, the tree had been void of apples.

 

"Wow, she is so amazing" Dusty thought and grinned. But also he kinda felt a little useless, since he couldn't do much, which would have been necessary right now. Crystal then spoke about her lessons in Telekinesis, which she seemed to love.

 

Dusty watched as she approached the next tree, and started the procedure again. "Is there anything i can do, my darling?"
