gaming Gran Turismo 6

Yes, everypony, Polyphony Digital will be making their next Gran Turismo game, but not on the PlayStation 4, but rather, on the PlayStation 3, which will be released sometime in the holidays. In case you're wondering why GT6 won't have a PS4 release is because if Polyphony Digital were to release their upcoming Gran Turismo game exclusively for the PS4, then Gran Turismo 6 will receive very poor sales because most people cannot afford a lot of money to get the PlayStation 4 first then Gran Turismo 6 second, which would bring the Gran Turismo franchise to an abrupt end if this were to happen (that's just my opinion).

So, what does Gran Turismo 6 has to offer? Well, here's one of the videos I encountered from Twitter/YouTube:

GT6 will have something more to offer just like in GT5 from nearly three years ago. There will be new tracks such as Mount Panorama, a famous race track in Australia and Silverstone Circuit, a track well-known for motorsport races in the UK. Here is the http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/05/15/gran-turismo-6-unveiled-out-this-holiday-on-ps3/ for more information of what Gran Turismo 6 has to offer. There would be more features GT6 would add, such as (including questions):

  • Will there be female drivers to customize their racing outfits?
  • Will there be the return of fictional circuits, even new ones?
  • Will there be a Gran Turismo space for PlayStation Home users to explore?
  • Will there be nighttime races for many tracks, real and fictional alike?
  • Will Polyphony Digital add more car manufacturers such as Marussia, RUF (premium ones), Bugatti (premium ones), Ariel Motor Company, Koenigsegg and Gumpert?
  • Will Polyphony Digital add premium SUVs and Trucks for GT6?
  • Will we be able to transfer our cars from GT5 into GT6, and even have standard cars converted to premium cars upon transferring?
  • Will there be much realistic damage physics for vehicles?

So many "Will there" questions, most with likelihoods that they will happen, but even so, one must wait until polyphony Digital officially announces those kinds of features (custom soundtracks will be there as well in case you're wondering. Even if its not confirmed, it is, however, likely to happen). So PS4, you're gonna have to sit this one out, as the PS3 still holds the torch right after the PS2 has passed it to the PS3. Oh,a nd before you say anything, Porsches will not be in GT6, but they will add RUF cars if they confirm it.

So with that said, what are your thoughts about the upcoming Gran Turismo game? I myself am looking forward to it, even if it's a PS3-exclusive game. img-1467600-1-smile.png

To be honest, this still looks like a lovely game to play. If I had a PS3 then I would be sure to get it, even with the poor sales.

The one thing I didn't see was the Ford GT that they usually put out in Gt4 and Gt5, but alas the time has passed for that old car. I would love to see both of them in the new Gran Turismo, just a lot harder to get.

One thing they would need to improve on is the sound of the cars (since some were merely duplicated). I hated hearing the Penzoil Nismo GTR '99 race car sound the exact same as a Tommy Kaira ZZ-II when they both started up.

And the one other thing they need to improve on is their tracks/race series. Honestly, I saw more types of races on Gt4 then I did Gt5 which is a bother to me. If you complete all the races then what's left to do? That is where Gt4 comes in handy, since they have separate series races and a good bit of open races.

The last thing they need to improve on would be the views. Some cars, depending on how old they were didn't have a drivers seat view, where you could see all the mirrors and dashboard. I would hope that they add that in to all of their cars, since that's the only view I use when playing Forza 4.

Besides all that though, I don't have much of any complaints besides what's above me right now. Seems like a good game, so lets hope it is.

That's up to you. I'm sticking with my PS3 because I know I've yet to have enough money for the PS4 when the holidays come, so at least the franchise will still go strong in my opinion. :P

I'm not a very big gamer at all, but one of the few types of games I will avidly play are racing games, and I've always loved the Gran Turismo series.

I'm very much looking forward to Gran Turismo 6. I think PD has learned a lot from GT5 and will amend a lot of the stuff that irked some players. Personally, if they get some more premium cars in and do away with the standards, I'll be a happy clam.

I enjoyed GT5 a lot, so I'm expecting to be well pleased with GT6.

Man, i've been playing the Gran Turismo series since the original GT. I can't believe it's came this far. I'd have to say that my most favorite GT game was GT2. I'm hoping GT6 will be worthwhile because GT5 kinda let me down, especially when they introduced that RedBull X2012 or whatever car. I'm hoping they have picked up the pieces with GT6

GT5 may have been a disappointment, but it held on its own in the end. ;)

As for the X2012... it MAY be in GT6, or X2013, but only when Polyphony Digital confirms it. :P

Being a life-long fan of Gran Turismo and owning GT2, GT3, and GT4 I would love to see a day-night system like the one found in Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. Using real time to coordinate the time of day in the game, and adjusting it accordingly based on a racetrack's location; for example if it's 1 PM on Laguna Seca Raceway, when the player decides to head on over to Twin Ring Motegi (in Japan) it should be nighttime. Or have all tracks fixed based on the player's time.

I wonder if player location can be utilized, so if it's raining outside the game can "detect" it and put in wet, rainy conditions. Would be very neat.

At least someone shares the same gaming interests as me!

Yeah so I'm a massive fan of gran turismo and I was keeping up to date with tweets from inside silverstone earlier today. I can sort of notice a visual improvement compared to gt5 but it's not significant. As for the ps4, all hope isn't lost in it being a ps3 exclusive. If you look at the bottom of the gran turismo 6 page on the official website, you'll see it's platform is 'Playstation' not 'PS3'. I'd say its still possible for it to be on the ps4, but the chances are relatively slim. Well have to wait til e3 to find that one out!

So I'm overal realy excited for gt6 and can't wait to play the GT Academy demo in July! But fingers crossed for ps4 since I'm planning on getting one.
