I'm sure Cadence will give me a raise if I convince Trollestia there is no war... Chippy thought to herself. She remembered to bow.

 

"'ello, Princess. I trekked past the Crystal Kingdom on the way here, as I have overheard you discussing. I was able to hear Cadence yapping with somepony about how Equestria was way to dangerous to start with, and to conquer Unysai, the land of the zebra first. Naturally, as Unysai being my hometown and all, I hurried here to inform you and request you send troops to my homeland. Not many, but enough to ensure the Empire will choose to target another place?" Chippy 'pleaded', praying under her breath that it works.

"It is not meant as an insult to you. I have a lack of trust for everyone I know, you just haven't proven why I should trust you yet" MidnightBlue explained to Midnight as they walked out of the small room the Black Mares used as headquarters. "Are you ready to leave yet?" MidnightBlue asked Midnight. "Meet me out here when you have your things packed" MidnightBlue said with a serious tone.

Midnight gritted his teeth he thought " maybe this won't be so easy" midnight got his things and met with blue "I realize that I can't be trusted completely but I at least want to be able to rely on the trust of my partner if we can't trust each other this wont work."

Crystal Dusk was very concerned. She had heard someone in the alleyway that wasn't that fireworks guy. The person had probably heard their conversation earlier and would know they are the Black Mares.

"Hurry Everypony! We might have a Code Black (the headquarters location has been compromised) "We might have only a few minutes so grab all important documents and supplies and rendezvous at 5674 Filly Ln. otherwise known as my house!" "GO GO!"

Harmonic snarled to himself as he walked down the path, looking around for the pony who had just left the castle. It didn't take him long to find him - just follow the origin of the charging ponies. "Hey, you there. Stallion, what's the deal with this thing so far?" he growled as he stepped up behind him, staying a good few feet back.

"Oh shoot blue should we leave or continue the mission make a decision quickly or we are dead!" Midnight was really afraid because if he was seen with them his whole plan would be destroyed "blue this is the time where we need to trust each other!" Midnight was about ready to run

"I will trust you until you betray that trust. Just as fair warning, betraying me is one of the worst mistakes you could possibly make. Do you know what twenty thousand volts of electricity will do to a ponies body? Neither do I, let's make sure that we don't have to find out" Blue said to Midnight, making sure that he understood the point. "I don't want to have to resort to threats, so let's make this the only time it happens, got it?" Blue asked. "Now let's go help Crystal Dusk, and fast."

Swordpoint glanced at Goldie. "Well they certainly won't attack Ponynesia. The royal guardians would tear their troops to shreds. Cadence learned this herself not too long ago."

 

He watched as Chip Away spoke of Candence's supposed plan to attack Unysai. "That is illogical. The zebras' homeland has nothing of value to Cadence. It would not even make a good military staging point. No, I think Goldie is right. They are undoubtedly going to come for Canterlot. Perhaps you were compromised, Chip Away?"

 

Celestia nodded at Swordpoint. "I trust your words, Swordpoint. If they are to attack, then we must meet them before they reach the city. If they are not stopped... the casualties will be far too high. We must protect the citizens."

Quip sighed and looked around. "Why do i get all the hard work?" he said and ran off in the opposite direction to inform the others of the incoming war, or so he was told. Maybe they were just tricking him so they could watch him run around like a fool giving around false info... It was thing like this that always ran through his crazy head.

"Well...I could of been fooled. I don't like to admit it, but i'm more of a brute force than a spy. I could of been heard by one of the guards, since I might of been loud...Princess, would you like me to rally the troops to protect the city the Empire is going for?"

They were so careless, I simply overheard a conversation, they're planning to do something to Cadance. I couldn't hear the whole thing." "Alright then!" midnight ran to dusk to help gather things "blue same goes to you" midnight dashed out with the others holding all he could carry he tried to make sure everyone got out before him then left midnight thought about what he was told but he went with it it was all he could do for now

"Well then..we should prepare as soon as time allows." Golden Age was highly excited, the very thought of putting a bullet through these somewhat-rebels was almost enough to make him squee. "When I head back to the barracks I'll the boys know what's up. But for now, we should plan."

Celestia glanced at Chip Away. "Hm... yes, I would have you take control of a regiment of soldiers in the defense of Canterlot. Your representative spoke highly of you, and my expectations for you are high, as well."

 

She turned to Swordpoint. "Swordpoint, I want you and Goldie to go to the royal guards. Gather a force of your choice and march toward the Crystal Empire. If anyone can end this madness... it is surely you. And make sure to stop by Fillydelphia on your way. That is where I have dispatched Zeta. He is sure to help you on your way."

 

Swordpoint bowed to her. "Yes, Princess. I promise you that I shall not abide this senseless violence and death." He nodded to Goldie and exited through the grand double doors.

"Everything's been going smoothly alright" he grunted "...too smoothly. As the princesses guard I have to remind you of situations like this, things are never what they seem, unless they're going badly. Even then, assume the worst."  He looked at a squad of ponies running down the street he just came from, all heavily armed and plated from head to hoof in a silver set of armour and brandishing polearms as big as themselves. "Where exactly do you believe this hideout to be? And why was I not informed of the movement agains it?" His eye twitched and he dug his front hooves into the dirt.

Golden Age ran as fast as he hoofs would carry him down to the barracks. He walked in to a site of soldiers, mostly his, playing poker. "Sergeant Ballyhooly" The Lieutenant shouted, to which a stallion in the room saluted at attention "Form the regiment, we're moving out, make it ASAP!" 

 

Among the sighs of disapproval from his troops for so rudely interrupting their gambling, Goldie waked to his bunk and packed a few things in his knapsack "Form on on the edge of the street when you get out!" he said before making his exit towards the door

 

He waited for his troops, as well as Swordpoint and his troops', to form up

When the doors of the barracks opened, a sign of dread came across the room when a red and grey pony slowly stepped in. His face was emoctionless, and it looked like he had been through hell and back several times.

But of course, he soon stopped in front of the Swordpoint, looking in his direction but not in his eyes.

 

"The princess has given word that you are above me, so I ask what are your orders?"

Swordpoint tilted his head slightly. "Are you... Zeta?" Swordpoint stepped forward and held out his hoof to the red and grey pony. "My name is Swordpoint. I am Equestria's only royal guardian. I was not expecting to meet you here. Have you been briefed on the current situation?"

"Both questions are a yes." He replied with a deep tone of voice. "The Princess has also said that you so far are the only other pony that knows about me, and has informed to never let this information leave our mouths."

 

Zeta slowly turned his head at the other men in the barracks. Looking over each and everyone of them, studying them carefully before looking back at Swordpoint. This time though, it was a direct contact.

 

"These men, they are yours?"

"Yes," Swordpoint confirmed, "they are. This will not be the first time I've commanded ponies in battle. I trust that my experience will serve me well. I have heard of you before, and I would like to ask you if you would be interested in joining my regiment. With your skill, you will make a valuable second in command." He extended his hoof to Zeta. "Consider this my formal offer." He offered Zeta a warm smile.

"Swordpoint if you need to move the troops quickly I will be willing to teliport them and for command I will help you as much as I can" Avolon says right after teliporting behind Swardpoint. "oh yah if you want the troops to have a more intimidating affect I am willing to make an illusion of a larger force than you actually have" Avolon reply to his own comment

Swordpoint turned to Avolon. "That could be useful. I can assist you in the teleportation, for I know that teleportation spells are difficult to cast on such a large group of ponies. Tell me, Avolon, what will you do? Will you come with me? Or perhaps would you stay here with Chip Away? Or, if you like, you could travel with Goldie. The choice is yours."

Golden Age walked in "Swordpoint, ye ready? Crystal Empire is quite a ways, especially fer marching, thus I suggest we get going, we are traveling together are we not?"

 

He turned his attention to the red and grey pony "I'm guessing yer Zeta? Pleasure to meet you, 'names Golden Age, 3rd and 9th Ponyville Volunteers."

"I will come I need to be able to see what i am teliporting and same with the illusions and i have mastered teliportation I can teliport up to 50 ponys and with my amulet  I can teliport 70 ponys my limit for illusions is about 50 square feet of illusions" As Avolon finishes armor is teliported around him.

Swordpoint nodded. "Yes, I think we should travel together. If the need arises for us to separate, we shall. But for now, it would be wise for us to stay together." Swordpoint turned to Avolon and Zeta. "If you will travel with me, then I welcome you. I thank you for accepting my command." He glanced down at a small amulet around his neck. The amulet was in the shape of a lightning bolt, with the colors of the rainbow coming out of a cloud. "But... there is someone very dear to me with whom I must speak. She deserves to know of this. While she will not be glad to learn that I am riding into battle once more... she will understand. I want you all to begin the trek toward the Crystal Empire. It is far to the north, and we know little about the enemies' position. Zeta, I leave command of the regiment in your hooves until I return. I trust you will not disappoint."

 

With this, Swordpoint saluted and trotted hastily from the room. When he emerged into the midday air, he spread his wings and took to the skies, making a beeline for Ponyville and his home in the clouds.
