So does anyone else think the Miss. Cheerilee should find a different job?

To what it seems, she's really bad at being a teacher. Miss. Cheerilee has done nothing to settle or end the bullying Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon cause the CMC.

She seems to come up with lesson plains on the spot. Like in Cutie Pox, where she just had Apple Bloom show everpony what her cutie mark was. Does she do that with all the kids?

The last one is leaving a club unattended. She should have been in charge of that club or should have know what kind of stores they were writing. It's all her fault that all of that happened.

If you ask me she missed read her cutie mark and needs to find another job that involves blooming.

What do you think?

Diamond Tiara is a conniving bitch tongue.png She plans on when and how she torments. It's just as much the CMC's fault for not telling Cheerliee of Tiara's bully-ness as it would be Cheerliee for not taking notice. Since Cheerliee has all sorts of things to be doing than focusing on a few students, you can't just peg her for it. Meanwhile, since the CMC don't believe in seeking adult help (demonstrated when they didn't tell AJ about Tiara and Babs), this never comes to pass through them, either.

As for lesson plans, there's really no proof of that. With the Cutie Pox episode, when AB began showing off, that was recess, so, with no lesson going on, why wouldn't Cheerliee approve of spending some group time focusing on watching the new-found talent of one of her students?

I do agree a little with the last part, though. Usually when teachers create group activity things like that, they assign leaders to 'lead' the groups. But the catch is, they sit in the back of the room and moderate; they watch and observe what goes on, what direction the kids take, etc, and step in if its' clear some guidance on a proper direction is needed. Ideally, that's what she should have been doing. But, since the plot needed Tiara to bully them like a wannabe dictator, she didn't. You can kinda point at the writers' for that one.

I would have to say in all the episodes where Cheerilee was present the plot was geared toward the Cutie Mark Crusaders, mostly Applebloom. The way I see it, without any of those actions that were listed, there would not have been a episode or a plot happening there what so ever.

For the most part I would have to go out on a limb and say I never had any feeling negative or positive about Cheerilee at all. It seems that in all the episodes that Cheerilee was involved with the Cutie Mark Crusaders or Applebloom there was a lesson taught in the end. So technically speaking maybe she does have a understanding of what to do in these situations and let em' figure it out for themselves so they can grow to become a better and much more knowledgeable pony.

A example of that would have to be in the example listed. The one with the newspaper thing taught them (eventually) how to deal with problems and how to manage power between the classmates even though Cheerilee admitted to giving the head editor too much power. But for all we know as viewers it was a pre-meditated plot in Cheerilee's mind all along to teach the students a lesson, or she just flipped on the "I don't care switch". Either way the ball rolls it seems without the actions of Cheerilee in these episodes there would not have been any plot line at all.

Just like Granddad always said: "Neutral ain't first gear or reverse gear, neutral is in between and has the ability to go either way."

Ehh well I think she's a good a teacher as any. But she should probably be a bit more strict and keep an eye on her students. And yeah I always wondered why she was a teacher and not a gardener or a florist or something. Unless the creators were going with a 'every student is a seed and the teacher provides water and nutrients' to help it bloom into a beautiful successful flower' type thing.

I kind of think you're looking to deep into it, honestly, and I don't feel that that would be a necessary change.

As Earl Hickery mentioned, not only would a lot of the CMC episodes not work if Cheerilee took those actions, but also, I can't picture the writers introducing the concept of finding new work into the show. I mean, Cheerilee has become iconic as a teacher in MLP, you can't really change that, especially w/ younger girls being a big part of the audience.

This could just be me, but I'm curious to see others' takes on the subject.
