Tears started to form in Gardenia's eyes, "What I said caused some innocent ponies to get hurt? That's... that's awful... I thought I had just hurt Todd, but because I hurt him he hurt others! That's..." a steady stream of tears started to fall down.

 

"I am so sorry, I didn't think that something like that would happen."

 

"And now, not only was Minty insulted, Windy stabbed, but now Todd's life is going to be ruined? All because of my stupid mouth."

 

Gardenia buried her muzzle in her hooves, trying to hide her sobbing.

(Well it's this post and then I'll go to bed)

Blaze wasn't sure if he should put and arm around her but did it anyway. "No. No don't be like that. None of this was your fault. You made the decision that was right. You shouldn't hold yourself responsible for what happened."

"Heh, well I would take you up on that bet" I say chuckling "But when you lose you would have paid for your half of the meal, heh, nice try buddy.  Oh and I think I have a flathead screwdriver here... yeah I think that's all I have actually... mostly to be used to pick locks that I lock myself out of, heheh.  Here you go" I hand the screwdriver to him.

"Well then do we have a bet?" Arrow gently takes the screw driver. "Danke... That means thanks in germane." He puts the flat head on the lock and pries it open. In response to his action the lock pops open and the insides of it gall apart. "Yeah, if there wasn't a dent in it, then it wouldn't have done that. He bucked the thing beyond repair unless you replace the exterior of the lock." He looks at the interior of the lock, "And a few mechanisms as well." He ended,

Minty started to feel bad, so she reassured Gardenia, "It's okay.. it's not your fault. Windy kind of.. punched Todd when he insulted me. But he was still pretty mad that you turned him down. You didn't do anything bad, you at least stood up for yourself, unlike me. I can't go around him unless I want to get humiliated."

I say agreeing to the bet before looking at the lock parts on the floor "Celestia... dangit... that's going to cost a lot of bits I don't have... now how am I going to lock my doors..." I ponder for a moment before getting an idea "Aha!  Hang on a moment... (I go back inside and dig through my bag) My high school let us keep the locks that we bought for our lockers... now if I remember correctly... aha!" "Guys, although I do appreciate the concern, when you say 'stabbed', you make it sound like Todd took a knife to me! All he did was jab one of his syringes in my shoulder! Painful, sure, but not really a 'stabbing' per sea. Besides, I couldn't care less if Todd's father, mother, grandparents, and godparents were all here! I still am gonna relish his agony and humiliation down there!" Windy said, grinning wickedly. Glancing down at the field, he saw Todd talking to the Quarterback, another Delta Tau Delta guy named Stone Flagg. Even though kickoff was still two minutes away, Todd already seemed, almost imperceptibly, off... He was swaying ever so slightly, and his arm, probably the one he injected into, was twitching every so often. "So it begins... And once I've gotten Todd out of our manes and cut down to size, then I'll work on exposing Chase for the prick he is!"

Minty looked at Windy. "Todd IS a pretty big jerk." She kept looking down at Chase once she spotted him, unable to take her eyes off him. "Uh huh," she said inattentively. She shook it off, and said, "I hope this plan works because he needs to pay for putting that syringe in you."

Saronyx simply nodded to them in acknowledgement, then went to watching the game. Though he said nothing, he was listening to what they were saying, taking mental notes.

 

After a few minutes, he started to notice results from the traces of Librium. He smiles slightly, "Things are going smoothly so far."

"Or I can sneak some aluminum and a blow torch and weld the lock on the door." He says. "That might burn the wood though... Unless.." He thinks either that, or I can super glue it, or use black duck tape and cover the hole and just have the locks knob and numbers." He adds in. "If you want it that way."

Windy nodded in agreement to Minty's comment about Todd, but then noticed that Minty wasn't even looking at him, but was looking at... Chase. Glaring at Chase until he caught the stallion's eye, Windy subtly flipped him off. ((Don't ask how ponies with hooves flip other ponies off, because I don't know)) "At least that idiot isn't up here, trying to break Minty's heart, which I'm sure he's gonna do! He's a hundred miles of bad road, no doubt! That cross country runner makes me hate my own last name! At least he isn't sitting up here though, so I don't have to worry about him for now. I should just sit back and enjoy the show that dear 'ol Todd is sure to provide."

 

 

 

"Alright dudes, its go time! You know? Like, lets do this! Lets take it to those Hoplites, and show 'em what it means to play football!" Todd yelled loudly in the huddle, to the roars of approval from his teammates. Brick, the quarterback, cocked his head and looked at Todd oddly. Todd was slurring his words a tiny bit, and was wobbling on his hooves. Leaning in, Brick asked in concern, "Uh, Todd? You ok bro? You seem a bit out of it. You're not actually hammered, are you?" Brick whispered discreetly. "No way man, I'm just a bit overpumped right now. I might have put a bit too much juice in my pre-game dose. I'll taper out by the time we have possession, I promise." "Ok Todd, I'm counting on you to carry our running game tonight! No buck-ups, or coach will have both of our hides!" Brick said, turning to salute the Equestrian flag as the national anthem begun to play. The game was moments away from starting.

Royal looked around for denim, but he didn't see her. He could tell from the main room that denims room was no longer frozen, and that she had fixed the door.

"Denim? Are you still here?" He remembered her saying earlier that she wasn't going anywhere, but she might have decided otherwise, since then.

Sure enough, Denim was still passed out on her bed, curled partially in a ball. She faintly heard Royal's voice through her sleepy haze. It took a few minutes before she was awake. She opened her eyes and noticed her door wasn't fully shut.. And he was still only in a towel.. And Royal was in the main room.

Fending off the inevitable blush, she quietly climbed out of bed and stood behind her door, quietly replying, "Yeah, I'm still here."

Minty watched Chase intently and completely forgot about watching Todd screw up. She had a stupid smile on her face when he turned and smiled at her. "Heh.." Minty blushed as she almost flew up in her seat to scream, "GO CHASE!!" She looked at Windy blushing, and smiled.

Royal nodded, noticing he couldn't see her, deciding that she was undressed or something, he went into the kitchen, he found he was hungry.

"Have you had anything to eat?" He asked, suspecting the answer would be no. He found some chips, and deciding he wasn't too hungry, he got some dip as well.

"I have some chips, if your a little hungry."

Standing up to salute for the Anthem, Windy gave Minty a bemused look. "Why are you cheering for Chase? He's not even playing! He's not even a football player! Hay, slap some pads on me and throw me onto the football field and I'd make a better player than Chase probably!" Windy said in an annoyed voice, upset that Minty still was looking at Chase and not him. Hay, he'd be happy if she was looking at Todd, if only to see him screw up. But she wasn't even looking at him! It was like she had forgotten all about their plan, just to stare at a cross country idiot.

 

 

 

Pony U won the coin flip, and lined up to receive the kickoff. Standing on the sidelines and impatiently waiting for special teams to do their return and get off the field so he could have his crowning moment of glory, Todd bobbed up and down on his hooves, anxious to get into the fray.

Minty looked at the field silently. She saw Todd mess up, but she didn't enjoy it as much as she thought she would. She guessed her bad mood got the best of her, and she  didn't see the point in enjoying it. In fact, she actually felt bad that he was messing up since Blaze pointed out that not even he would deserve this.

After she had dressed herself, switching her old scarf for a light red one, she trotted out, "How was your night?"

"It was alright." He said, taking a chip to eat. "I met some new ponies, made some money." Royal didn't care to elaborate on his time in that basement, as he felt he didn't know denim well enough to talk about it. He didn't really want to talk about his betting habits.

"Now that's better... That's what you get for beating the tar out of me, you arrogant asshole!" Windy spat out spitefully. Turning to see Minty wasn't looking happy, he blanched, saying, "Uh, Minty? That was Todd who just ate a whole lot of turf down there. The first of many times tonight! You should be thrilled! You hate him! This revenge is for what he did to you!" 

 

 

Spitting out a bit of astroturf, Todd swore under his breath and pulled himself to his hooves. The next play was a passing play, and although he broke out and made his run, he wasn't the intended receiver. Brick instead threw the ball to a speedy wide receiver, who managed to pick up eight yards. It was now third and four. Todd felt himself be grabbed from behind by Brick. "Was that just a fluke bit of bad luck Todd? You're on the level, right?" "For sure man! It was just an unlucky break. Nerves probably. I got it now!" He said confidently, as the offense lined up to make the crucial play. Seeing the defense, shift, Brick called an audible to switch to a running play, gap 4. Todd panicked, now everything was down to him to make the play. The ball was snapped, and Todd got the hand off from Brick, heading for the gap... which wasn't there! "Don't panic Todd... You're quick on your hooves, you'll thread the gap, find an opening... Anywhere. There!" Todd made a break for a gap that two blockers had managed to crack open, but the defense was closing in. Dashing for the opening, Todd felt his muscles stiffen; get sluggish, and he began to slow down. Before he could react, the gap had closed. Turning to find a new route, he was smashed into hard from the side by a lineman who had broken through. Slamming onto the ground, Todd's heart froze when he felt the ball bounce hard in his hoof as he hit the ground... and pop out of his hoof and go bouncing away. Before anypony could react, a Hoplite cornerback dove onto the ball. Todd wished at that instant that he could vanish into thin air. His team had controlled the ball for three downs, and he had managed to give it away to the opposition within forty seconds! "What's going on?? Why couldn't I run faster? Why did my legs lock up?"

"TODD! What's up with your running!?" Chase yelled out to Todd. "Are you drunk?!" He shouted, so Todd could hear him. "Try harder!!"

 

Minty noticed Chase's supporting Todd. "Huh..? Chase isn't a frat.. is he..? No.. he can't be.." Minty said sadly, her heart shattering.

"What ever you guys want to do?" He didn't know what to do, he hadn't had this many friends in one place with him. It was almost awkward.
