Well everypony, this is it. My final post. I thought my final post would be a post to end the roleplay, but I guess that was never meant to be. The roleplay will for now be left in the hands of Steel. The roleplay doesn't have to go down the road I was planning, but I left Steel my plot in case he wants to use some of it. Pripyat will be taking up control of DJ. The roleplay actually is much more dark-sounding in my summary than it should be if you keep up the fun adventure style of the previous adventure.

 

 

Guys, I am really sad to be leaving you. I love all you guys, and I will miss you all. Remember me through the roleplay and remember me through DJ. I know I will never forget any of you.

Sounds good to me. Although this is probably the best RP I've been a part of (I've been in like 4), I do have the feeling that people aren't having fun anymore. Several people have had problems or just aren't in the right state of mind to continue. I myself have thoroughly enjoyed this RP, and everyone who has been a part of it.

 

Unfortunately it seems as though this is not the best time to continue the adventure, due to every one's own special circumstance. If we need a break, then so be it. If the break is forever, so be that as well. Of course I hate the idea of everyone leaving after all the work and heart we put into the RP, but I don't want people to feel as though they are obligated to participate. It's supposed to be a fun, relaxing way to get your creative juices flowing and talk about a common topic - My Little Ponies. I wouldn't want anyone to feel sad, depressed, or stressed about this RP.

 

I'm glad I've had the opportunity to RP with all of you that are leaving. I myself am staying in the fandom for a while, since it is still fairly new to me. I will be on the forums if anyone wants to PM or RP with me in a different setting. I will continue this RP for as long as is needed, until we figure out a plan.

Rest assured that we have enough coming back for it to continue.

 

I'm in this for the long haul, for James.

 

As for the fandom, I've never been a part of something like this. Something that's had such a positive effect on my heart and life. I'll be a brony till the day I die.

I really would hate for this RP to come to a grinding halt, but its supposed to be fun. And from what I hear, some guys arent as into it as the last one. I'm having a blast myself, and therefore, don't wanna see this RP end prematurely. So might I ask, is everypony here willing to continue? What could we change if you're not having fun? I wont be able to readily respond since I'm at work right now

I just needed a break. I read the plot DJ proposed to me and it was really... unexpected. The backstory I was planning with Blue Note wouldn't fit very well. It would have to be extremely drawn out.

 

Another problem was that I felt this roleplay took a lot of creative juice out of me. I couldn't come up with anything sensitive or positive in a situation that was fast being filled with darkness. Plus, with MCAT fast approaching, I couldn't handle writing about stories with excessive tragedy and hopelessness. When I write in a roleplay, I can get emotionally embroiled in it. Character development and depth are among the things I strive for. I'm a happy person, and I can't afford to undergo periods of depression and hopelessness being played out without being prepared. The crashing of the wedding was what really triggered it. I couldn't handle it anymore then, and that was partially my fault. 

 

The departure of DJ didn't make things any better either.

Yeah, now that we're on the adventure part, it should ramp up a lot more. Of course, we'll still be waiting another month. But that gives us time to lick our wounds, recuperate, and plan. I'm just worried people will leave during the break.

So during the break, if anyone wants to discuss, feel free to add me on skype at unpilot15. And sterlig, I can understand how ya feel. I find it quite an emotional shitstorm with how much trouble Red always gets. And I can totally understand the stress of the impending test you have. I just want people to have fun in the RP, and keep it all together.

So, Land of Shadows is officially on hiatus? That seems like it's for the best, especially if everyone is burnt out. I want to say I'll be able to come back in a month, but I'm going through some huge life changes in the mean time (moving out, school starting up), so I don't know if I can say I'm 100% sure I'll be back. I'm not planning on leaving MLP forums, so I'll most likely be back. I just might find it hard to start back up if I stop now. I'll probably have a better idea in 2-3 weeks. I just don't want to commit in case life throws something crazy my way. =/ This is a really good RP group, and it seems like the story is going in an interesting direction, so I don't want to say I'm out...

This is certainly open for discussion.

 

"Dark" meaning the use of mature themes such as evil forces and the necessity of killing in self defense is one thing. But I understand Sterling's point in pushing it.

 

We can adjust the outline to something of a middle ground.

I don't have Skype on my computer; it's a very old one which I can't afford to upgrade. Would it be possible to open a PM discussion for everypony as well so I don't get left behind on major plot points? Tho it would be nice to know what the original plan was, in any case; particularly since I'm going to be playing as DJ. Will try to do justice to the role cuz it would be like having a piece of DJ back here if that makes sense.
