You know I never played Xenoblade yet... And I have a wii(waits for angry mob)

 

That said this game also looks awesome. I would totally get it, but idk if I'll be getting a wiiU anytime soon, I will be getting one eventually, its just a matter of when.

 

Looks pretty awesome again like I said, also reminds me that I need to find and pickup Xenoblade sometime..

But it's got mechs, so I'm interested by default. I wonder what sort of gameplay they are going to opt for.

 

It also has some kind of multiplayer aspect to it (@ 1:20). Player one is named ???????(Inferno) while everyone else has generic player position names; it's some kind of co-op mode (you can see they're on the same team on the mini map)... interesting.

I don't know why, but that X reminds me of Xenogears for some reason. . . 

 

I hope that this is the love child between Monolith's Xeno series and Capcom's Monster Hunter. I'd like to believe as such with the huge weapons reminding me of Monster Hunter and other subtle hints within the teaser. The Small gun is equivalent to a Bowgun with a Small Frame while the large rail gun like weapon is much like a Large Frame Bowgun. The sword can be seen as a hybrid between a Long Sword and a Great Sword, then again some GS's expanded when in use so it could easily be seen as an energy blade of sorts. 

 

Adding in the mix of Gears and an open world environment for you and your friends to explore only enriches the possibilities within this game. From what I've seen it all hints towards environments in which you can gather materials via the world and beasts while simultaneously accomplishing missions and quests. Lets not forget the giant boss we see at the end of the teaser. Monster Hunter has had a habit of teasing their newest big bad boss in their trailers AND they had gigantic fights with legendary dragons and creatures in which was only available via multiplayer. 

 

But hell this is all speculation of course, I can dream

They also brought us Baten Kaitos, loved the first one(haven't played the prequel game though).

Xenoblade really is an amazing game though, it ended up not only having the biggest open world on Wii but one of the biggest of the current console generation, and I can't wait to see what boundaries X pushes in that regard on a much more capable console, this game is going to be so huge. My most anticipated game atm, it will make me buy a Wii U and I can't wait!

Oh, and what's an X thread without gifs?

Those graphics, plus mechs... so much to love about this game already...

Wow, that trailer looks kinda awesome

I've never really played any anime games of that style to be honest however, if I ever get a WiiU, that will be the first one I get... :3

I really hope the story will be as awesome and with a huge Twist like in Xenoblade Chronicles.

 

The only things I disliked about XC was, that the animatios of the characters in different armors looked horrible at some times and that the balance between them was not that good... but also not that bad.

I'm still waiting (probably forever) for a Baten Kaitos 3. I saw a teaser image of a future project that looked like Diadem on a computer screen but who knows if that meant more Baten Kaitos or not.

 

On topic: I've heard this "X" game is actually Xenoblade 2 but I could swear they showed an actual Xenoblade 2 trailer a few months back or something. Knowing it's by Monolith Soft is a great thing. I still need to play Xenoblade and I've only played about 70% of Xenosaga episode 1 but I looooooooooove Baten Kaitos and they have a tendency to use my favorite composer of all time: Motoi Sakuraba (Golden Sun, Star Ocean, Dark Souls, Tales Of and more)

This game is being composed by Hiroyuki Sawano, who has apparently only worked on anime before. I definitely like the work I've heard so far for this game though.
