"We're at the entrance of what appears to be a maze. We've been separated from our vessel, and our friends. I'm Lyth, priestess of the Lunar Religion. You are?" She extends a hoof to help him up and stares at him inquisitively. Let us hope he can fight. It would be hard to get through obstacles involving force if he can't.

Once Max regained full consciousness, his shyness kicked in. "Umm, I'm Max" he mumbled. He slightly turned his head away and blushed, he could never keep eye contact with anypony. Then, after realizing the gravity of the situation, his head began to fill with worries. "What are we gonna do?" he asked with a slightly worried tone and expression on his face.

Then, after realizing the gravity of the situation, his head began to fill with worries. "What are we gonna do?" he asked with a slightly worried tone and expression on his face.

"We are going to enter the maze, find the exit, and then find our ship. Do you know how to defend yourself at all?" Well, at the very least he's an Earth Pony, which means he has a nice buck if he cares to use it. He has a sort of look about him that makes me suspect he's more used to a life outside of combat. I wish Cosmo were here. We'd have no problems then...

"Not really" Max said nervously. He felt his esteem drop a little more. He already felt weak compared to the other crew members due to their strengths and powers. He had none. And Max also got just the slightest bit more worried after hearing that question. He just couldn't imagine himself fighting anypony.

She sighed and signed in the air, muttering faintly, "Stars save me." She drew a mark on the ground, and sat. Her eyes began to glow purple and she murmured something akin to a prayer. A small silver knife came out of the ground, which she caught and flipped over her hoof experimentally. She handed it to him and said, "Stay behind me, try not to hurt yourself. Stab whatever comes at you with a quick motion. Don't hesitate. However, if you stab me, you'll find our shared Earth Pony heritage will not save you from the curses I'll cast on you. Also, stay close. I don't want you getting lost, and I don't want to be by myself in there. You ready?"

Max stepped back a bit while this all happened. After she gave him the knife and told him the plan, he could feel his heart sink. Max had never killed or even really hurt anypony before. He was now past worried and nervous. He was completely scared now, though he tried his best not to show it. He could also sense Lyth was bothered by the fact that he couldn't fight. The last thing he wanted was to be a burden. All he did was nod in response.

Maybe this would be another opportunity to make a friend. Max put the knife away and followed her to the entrance, not sure what to expect. "So do you know a way out?" he questioned.

Swordpoint jumped up beside Sole. "We must synchronize our movements. I have experience in such combat, thankfully. Try not to make sudden movements and I should have no problem staying synchronized." He turned to the approaching ponies as they emerged from the brush, covered in tribal markings and war paint. He held up the dagger and smirked. "Come on, then. You shall fall."

 

As the ponies bore down upon him, Swordpoint ducked and sliced open the neck of the nearest one. His knife easily tore away the flesh, sending a shower of blood spurting out.

"Nope. It's a maze. We're just gunna have to have faith that we'll make it out on the other side. Are you coming, or are we going to stand here waiting for a miracle?" She sits in front of the maze looking back at him expectantly. Her sword hilt poked out from behind her head at an angle, not that that's important or anything.

"Okay, let's go" Max said. He cautiously entered the maze and halted, waiting for Lyth to come in and hopefully lead the way. "So, uhh, where are you from?" Max awkwardly asked, cringing a bit at how awkward he sounded. He was never really good at striking up a conversation.

Rainbow didn't like the look in Stone's eyes. She could tell that Stone was desperate, and while Rainbow didn't want to believe that Stone would backstab her to save herself, she decided to choose her words carefully. Swordpoint, I seriously hope that you're alright... I could really use your help, here!

He trotted steadily with Lyth, listening for any noises or sounds that signaled any danger. A few quiet seconds passed by before he asked his next question. "So why did you come on this trip?"

"Because I wanted to see the world. Everything's so beautiful from a palace window. Sounds so interesting to read about. And I thought I knew I'd be in no danger. I was wrong. Why'd yoi xome?" She atopped in front of an intersection. She thought for a moment and turned right, gesturing him to follow.

Looking around Cosmo got the feeling the bug apes were tired of being killed by flaming wagons of cheese (an effect that was occurring with enough consistancy to make him question the extent of Altair's influence) and left them alone... for now. Looking at Crimson, Cosmo asked, "Okay, what comes after fighting the bug monkeis? Because I'd like to the hell out of here and regain control over my magic." Cosmo thought to himself, "And back to Lyth. I can only hope she's not in danger... if anything happens to her... Damnit! Please let her be with Sole or Swordpoint or anyone who can fight so not Max, no matter what please don't let her have been stuck with that jumpy little piano playing wimp Max!"

Cosmo was laughing too, "You know what the worst part is? The selfish little drunk didn't even give me the pot of gold!" Cosmo saw one of the apes pouncing from behind and he instinctively knocked him to the side with Telekinesis. The thing was still knocked to the side but it was knocked away as it lined up with some kid saying, "I like trains," and a train drove by out of nowhere and has disappeared when Cosmo looked over to see where it was going. "Cosmo stop spell casting! You're killing me over here and I'm not even sure I'm alive!" shouted Altair in the back of Cosmo's mind, howling with laughter.

Crimson howled with laughter as the train dissappeared into the distance, "I don't know *gasp* how theses collars work, but *gasp* IT HILARIOUS! HAHAHAHAHA!!" Cosmo resisted the urge to face hoof and mentally glared at Altair. Cosmo explained to Crimson with perfect unison with Altiar's explanation to Cosmo, "I've never a tree like this in Equestria before, don't judge me..." As they kept walking Cosmo heard somebody shouting from a nearby hill. He looked up and saw the leprechaun from earlier squating down, staring at them with a fierce expression, and flipping him off with both hands. Cosmo just glared and shot a telekinetic shove at him which appeared as a bald old scientist standing in a bathtub flying throughing the air. As he neared the leprechaun he pointed straight at him and shouted, "FOR SCIENCE!" before exploding in massive ball of fire. A single lemon soared through the air and landed at their feet. Cosmo kicked it away and it hit a rock, bursting into flames. Cosmo was silent for a moment before saying, "Luna as my witness, I'm keeping this collar," a big grin across his face.

(Just so you know, I'm posting from a road trip to San Antonio so I won't be able to post much tomorrow if at all.)

Hold on, let me try somthing..." said crimson before turning to a rock and attempting to use a spell, red beam of magic shot the rock, turning it into a small annoying yellow spounge wearing pants who began to laugh in an annoying manor. Crimson scowled and used his magic on a nearby tree, turning it into a tall, bipedal, faceless, white skinned, creature in a black suit, who grew tenticals and used them to grab the spounge and violently tear him to pieces. Crimson didn't know whether to laugh or attack the strange monster.

Hoping to create something to distract the creepy thing he hit another by rock with illusion, turning it into a blue ball with wings. "This thing is kinda cute..." Cosmo muttered, thinking he should keep it for Lyth. "Need help getting off the island?" it asked. Cosmo smiled and shouted, "Yes!" The little para sprite looking thing replied, "Ok then follow me! Come on over this way! Why are you not following me?! Come on let's go! Hello?! Anyone home? This way!" Cosmo stopped listening grabbed it and threw it at the skinny guy in the suit just as he finished tearing apart the sponge only to have regenerate into dozens more. His left eye twitching Cosmo watched as the skinny thing looked at all the sponge creatures shrieking their annoying laugh and the blue ball flying around harassing him with instructions. It "looked" at Cosmo and Crimson and flipped them off. The ground beneath yellow things blackened and tentecles shot out to drag them into the tar like substance the ground became. He then jumped in himself self and the annoying ball fly fly in after him, still shouting instructions. As the ground returned to normal, Cosmo punched Crimson and shouted, "Buck the chain of command, no more spell casting for you!"

Crimson rubbed his cheek and scoffed, "fine jeez! But just for the record, that weird ball with wings was almost more annoying than that sponge...almost...now let's get going!" Said crimson hurridly.
