Hello all! Now some of you might be wondering what a pony mafia is. Well it is a roleplay where you are assigned a role be it pony or changeling. Then you must figure out who the changelings are and get them sent to the moon or killed!

 

Every game is controlled by a game mod. They do everything from counting votes to controlling when night and day start and stop. All night actions are pm'd to them, and they pm you back telling you the results of your night actions.

There are 2 teams. Ponies and Changelings.

PONIES
The ponies have no power besides the power of deduction. The pony wants to rid the town of the changelings. Every day the pony can vote for one person by posting Vote:Person x (note that this must be bolded) if you later decide to switch your vote, you do so by typing UNVOTE vote:person y (note again that this must be bolded). Ponies do not know who anyone else is.


CHANGELINGS
The changeling team usually is about one third the size of the ponies. The changelings know who each other are, and try to blend in with the ponies. Their goal is to rid the town of all the ponies. They can vote and unvote just like normal ponies. The only difference is that at night time the changelings can communicate (via pm's to eachother) and between all of the changelings, they can decide to kill someone at night.

VOTING
Now you may be wondering what this voting does. When a player has MORE than half the votes, they are banished to the moon. Right after the banishment happens, it becomes night time.
The ponies win when the last changeling is wiped out. The changelings win when they control HALF of the votes.

Basic extra roles:
PRO-PONY
These people are trying to make the ponies win

Investigator (Twilight Sparkle)  
Twilight Sparkle, at night, can investigate one person. They are told what alignment they are.

The exception to this is if you have a special investigator role. When you are not in a vanilla game, when assigned a role of investigator, keep in mind that you could be any of the following
DIFFERENT INVESTIGATORS

Sane investigator  
This is a normal investigator

Insane investigator  
Always gets the WRONG result

Naive investigator     
Always gets an innocent result

Paranoid investigator   
Always get Guilty verdict

Crazy investigator   
Is always given a random result


Mysterious Mare-Do-Well  
MMDW can choose one person a night to protect from a night kill. This protects the person from changeling kill OR any other kill. MMDW may NOT protect themselves.

(Note: This is basically like a doctor in a regular Mafia game, but the difference is Mare-Do-Well can protect one pony for the whole night, rather than only preventing one night kill.  Basically, in a Mafia game, if a vigilante and the Mafia were both targeting the same person at night, that person would need 2 doctors to protect them for that night.  Mare-Do-Well can fight off multiple groups of ponies.)

Vigilante (Rainbow Dash)  
Rainbow Dash can target one person a night to kill. They are trying to hit the changelings.

RoleBlocker (Fluttershy)  
Fluttershy chooses one person per night and stares at them, that person's night activity is blocked.

Zecora  
Each night, chooses to either save or kill one person.

Doctor Whooves  
Once in the game, can choose to un-banish the pony who has been banished (Assuming it's not them) that night.

Pinkie Pie  
Each night, PMs me the name of a player and will be returned the role of that player.

The Great and Powerful Trixie 
Once per game, PMs me the name of a player.  That player is then killed, unless it is night and they are protected by Mare-Do-Well or Zecora.

PRO-CHANGELING:

Queen Chrysalis:
The leader of the Changelings, she appears as pro-pony to Twilight Sparkle.


NEUTRAL:
Jester (Screwball)
Wins by being banished to the moon (NOT night-killed by the changelings)


NOTE: There will not necessarily be all of these roles in the game! Some or none could be here!

Note #2:  You don't have to act like the ponies I cast you as, that's mainly for my personal amusement.

I probably would have signed up if I weren't already in about 3 different Mafia games offsite on AvatarSpirit. I think I'd get them mixed up if I played in any more. 

 

I'm just showing up to say that Mafia is an extremely fun game that is great for anybody fascinated by social dynamics or strategy. I'd recommend checking out some offsite games to get a feel for how it works (on the site I mentioned, Batman Mafia is a great one) as well as this tutorial.

Anyway, snagging a spot. I'm probably going to act as the character I get. Hoping I get either Chrysalis or Screwball. Playing as the fool and the leader is fun.

Just a word of mention that double posting is highly frowned upon here and it is much preferred that if a user makes an error in their post, that they edit the original post rather than posting a consecutive time. Not to mention we have an auto merge feature here that will automatically merge double posts into one post.

 

Double posting leads to a very spammy and convoluted RP setting, which is why it's frowned upon and it lessons the overall quality of the RP.
