Josh smiled "And that means giving up should be an option? I have looked around the perimeter of this place and can't find any changes but if I give up I will never know and if we keep looking one day we could find a weak spot" Josh got more exited as he said this

Vinyl sighed and looked up at Josh. "You know there's no way out. It's a one way trip. Anyone who comes in here stays until they die. And those stories of people getting out... They're not true... They can't be true... If there was a way out, we would've found it." She laid down and put her head down on the ground, letting out a breath and kicking up a bit of dust. "I'm sorry for being such a downer, but... I just don't see a way out, other than death."

"nah death is the easy way out. Whether the stories are true or not there has to be one way just one i like to think of the pace the same as a medicine you can mix the herbs and get your potion but once it is made it is a hell of a lot harder to unmake but its still possible!

Sitting there, watching the sky and the shadows around them, he mumbled to himself.

"Hm... What be I the most afraid of... Could it simply be... It? Or maybe even... That one... Him... But it was quite some time ago... Could it be a place? Or simply a feeling? It could turn out t' be a surprise..." he said to himself, drifting off a little as he thought.

Vinyl looked over at Spark and smiled. "Well, you have someone here that you truly care about. That's certainly a blessing from the gods in a place like this... If only we all had someone like that." She looked at Shadow for a moment, before quickly averting her eyes. "And about that 'weak spot,' if one exists, that's probably the reason we can't find it."

"Thanks," Clover replied, with gratitude. "It's good to know that somepony has your back in a case like this. We'd better eat supper and turn in early; it's gonna be a busy day tomorrow.

 

Sanura had finished making supper and now called everypony to come eat it.

"There was one pony who got out," Shadow Star said, slowly. "He came in about the same time I did, with a group of friends. None of them got out, they're all still here if they haven't been killed by their nightmares. This pony's name was Lucky Star and his talent was luck, so it's no wonder he got out and nopony else did."

Near the edge of the village hid a small orange filly. She crept out of her hiding spot and looked around tentatively- they hand't come for her yet this week, and the sacrificial day wasn't for another couple of days, but she wanted to be careful.

Sunset Sky's stomach growled loudly, and she started walking. After a few moments of trotting, she wasn't paying attention and bumped into some pony, a mare.

"U-u-um... S-sorry, I w-wasn't looking where I was going..." she squeaked, hiding behind her mane.

"so it is very possible to escape we just need to figure out that spot or have luck it could be figured out with some study or maybe a herbal recipe could make it visible i think i will go study this immediately " Josh said with a big smile "when there is a will there is a way"

"This be great timing... I had barely eaten anything today... Being able to live long on little can be somewhat of a bad thing some times..." he said, as he sat down and happily ate.

Crimson smiled and quickly walked over to sanura, "dinnertime already? Cool, what's on the menu? I'm starving so I'm up for pretty much anything..." said crimson with a sheepish grin.

Sanura smiled. "Carrot, potato and leek stew, with dumplings and bread on the side. I figured that we could all do with a substantial supper the night before we enter the village. We should be able to forage inside the village, but the ponies there will help us, with any luck."

Lost blushed as well. "You think so? Thanks, I suppose."

 

Why am I doing this? I can't afford to get attached. Besides, who knows if I'll really be able to protect her? If I get attached, it's just going to end up haunting me again.

 

He sighed. "Well, anyway, I guess we'd best go eat some dinner while it's still warm."

Clover removed the spell that had masked their voices, and walked back to where the food was being served with Lost. She helped herself to some stew and got a bowl for Lost, too. She felt nervous about the proposed entering of the village the next day, but tried to hide it.

Sunset hid behind her mane but obeyed. At the pony's question, she stifled a cringe.

"Y-years," she whispered in response. "S-so many I've lost count. I-i've been here since before the time loop st-started..."

And i'm in fact the reason for this time loop, she added silently.

Lost nodded gratefully as he accepted the bowl. "Thanks for the food." He nodded to Sanura, "And thanks for cooking." He sat down not far from the fire and gestured for Clover to sit with him.

 

I'd best enjoy this time. Once we go into the village tomorrow, who knows when I'll have a moment's peace?"

The next day, Sanura awoke everypony nice and early. There was a slight hiatus while breakfast was made and eaten, and while the tents were taken down and repacked in the saddlebags, then Sanura set her course straight for the village site. As she drew closer, she couldn't help but shiver; the atmosphere was charged, and it affected her greatly due to her zebra roots.

 

"This is it, everypony," she said to the group at large. "We're going in."

Minty trotted after Sanura, hoping not to disturb the others. "Into the village? With nightmares?" Minty shivered, shuddering at thinking of being devoured by her fear. She looked at the village unsure.

'Waking up' and eating breakfast, he prepared himself for what were to come. He had not slept much that night, as with any night. He followed a little behind the others as they followed Sanura to the village. "The weird tingling... It is there again..." he said, looking in the direction they were going.

Scribe awoke with a loud, theatrical yawn and proceeded to tighten the straps on his armour - more out of force of habit than necessary.

 

Symphony was already awake, standing with her wings extended, flicking them in various directions at intervals and watching the effects that her crystal feathers had on the sunlight. One moment it twisted away from her, the next it beamed gloriously down like a beacon.

 

"We're ready when you are..." She said without looking at Scribe: he was an idiot, but he was reliable.

Lost slowly got up and prepared to leave. The time had finally come to enter the village. Now he would see if he was strong enough to face his past or not, and hopefully, with the help of Clover, he would somehow manage. It wasn't long before he finished his preparations and started heading towards the village with the others.

Clover walked beside Lost as they marched towards the site of the village. She nudged him with a hoof when they got to it. "Don't worry," she murmured. "Whatever's in that place, we will face it together."

 

"Everypony, we must enter the village together," Sanura replied. "If we stay together as a group, we will have less to fear." She was trying to convince herself as much as the others.
