Unova. The bustling region that exists far away from the other four. Unova is known for many things. Most tourists know it for the large cities it holds. Most trainers know it for the many events it holds specifically for trainers. And most locals know it for both of these things, as well as the underground crime that happens there, frequently. Though it doesn't seem to be bad enough to make many citizens want to leave. The region is fairly peaceful, most of the time.

 

Every now and again, many experienced trainers depart for the region to take part in the Unova Junior Cup, while more novice ones come to take place in the Unova League, hoping to become much stronger during their journey. Due to most of these trainers coming around the same time and to the same city, the region professor, Professor Juniper, generally greets them all during a festivity where any trainers without pokemon already can receive either Snivy, Tepig or Oshawott. One of these festivities is being held today, in Mistralton City, due to one of the two airports in Unova being there. Not to mention, surfing there would be difficult due to how far away the region was from all others, and both Undella Town and Humilau City seem to be cut off by workers, making all travel there near impossible, unless on foot.

 

The ceremony with Professor Juniper handing out the starter pokemon was being held right beside the pokemon center. There seemed to be little to no one there, with a few trainers helping out. While Juniper was explaining many things about being a trainer and showing off the starter pokemon, a slightly frazzled, redheaded trainer wearing mostly green was handing out Unova pokedexes and badge cases to the new trainers. She seemed to have two pokeballs attached to a chain necklace.

 

Another plane was just about to arrive. It was likely there would be more trainers on it.

Locke sat silently on the plane. It was going to land soon, and he was nervous. He wanted to take on the Unova League, but he didn't want what happened with Claire happen with Drayden. He was extremely nervous since both gym leaders used dragon types. He had a pokeball in his pocket, which held the only pokemon he brought to start. Scape was a fairly good pokemon, and he was a couple levels higher than the pokemon at the start of Unova, so it shouldn't be too hard to start. He felt the plane landing and he grabbed his bag and put it on.

"Well, I'm a half-ton son of a gun, with a suitcase fulla pistols and mo-ney..." Did I ever tell you I sing when I get nervous? I know, not really a biker sorta thing to do, but I'm in a band. Sue me.

Oh yeah, by the way. I'm Jim Gibbs, the backup vocalist and lead guitar of the best band in Castelia, the Midnight Riders. I'm 31 years of old, 6'2", 236 pounds, and I sing when I'm nervous.

 

Not that there was really anything to be nervous about. I already had Harley, and I was only going in to grab a case and a Pokedex, and get rolling. Still.

When the plane landed, Locke sneaked through the crowd of people and got out as fast as he could. He looked around and saw a pokemon center. That's where Juniper is supposed to be right?  He began walking towards the center when he saw the professor and a large biker man walking towards her. He quickly walked over to the biker. He wanted to get acquainted with any potential friends. Although the biker was definitely an imposing sight, Locke was actually slightly taller than him He introduced himself to the biker. "Um, hey. I'm Locke. Are you taking on the Unova League too?"

This freakishly tall guy (even taller than me) walked up to me and introduced himself. I grinned broadly. "Sure am. I'm Jim. Jim Gibbs. This is- HARLEY! GET BACK OVER HERE! That's Harley. Had 'im since I accidentally sat on the guy when I was on a camping trip. I was 8 then. Weird that he hasn't evolved yet, eh?" Maybe I was being a little one-sided. "You have any Pokemon?"

Locke grinned at what had happened. He took out a pokeball and released the pokemon inside it. A mareep jumped out and shook itself off. He turned around and smiled at Jim. "Nice to meet you Jim. This is Scape. He's a guy by the way."  Locke whispered the last sentence. He noticed that Harley had red eyes. "Wait is Harley a shiny? That's awesome!"

The yelling of the man seemed to startle the audience near him. As most of the trainers were quite young, some began to move into other parts of the crowd, to get away from him. One pokemon who was observing the audience from a far, noted the loud voice and hovered down to look at the two trainers. The small Swablu looked confused.

I heard a whiffing noise above my head, and looked up. A Swablu. Nothing special. I shooed it off, and turned back to Locke. "Yeah, I think Harley's a shiny. Doesn't matter to me. So, you want to have a bit of a battle? Out of the crowd of course. Wanna make sure I still have my touch."

Locke noted the swablu. He had never been to hoenn before, and didn't know a lot of pokemon for there. he did happen to know the aron line, but that was besides the point. "Uh. yea sure. Maybe after we get our pokedexes and stuff. Um, what region is that from? it's definitely not Johto or Kanto."

"Of course." The girl said, barely looking at the man while she handed him the pokedex and badge case. When she looked up when giving them to him, she noticed Swablu. "Swablu...? Get back to work..." She muttered, as the bird hummed and flew back into the sky.

Marceline has just arrived in Unova, helping out her grandmother with taking care of her Pokemon Day Care center. But meanwhile she was here, she decided to train her Totodile, which was safely sleeping in her backpack. She joined the line for the Pokestuff, and noted there was a huge line. She gave a few bits of food to her Totodile while she noticed some people were eyeing her strangely. "Haha.." she said, forcing out a smile as the line progressed.

Locke had also moved up the line. He was a little nervous as he looked over Jim. "Um... hello. I um... I'll be taking the same stuff as him please." Locke looked as the swablu flew away. it looked very odd to him, then again so did almost every pokemon. He looked down at Scape, then back at the girl to wait for his things.

"Mhm..." The girl said, enthusiastically, giving the boy the stuff he needed. She then noted his pokemon. Most trainers didn't keep their pokemon out of their pokeballs unless they were small enough to hold, but of course there were exceptions. The pokemon did catch her eye though. She had seen the line of pokemon before, and it had struck her as... useful. Mareep eventually evolved into Flaaffy, and then into Ampharos. Ampharos looked quite nice in the girl's opinion, plus, most of the time, touching one would lead to the status condition of paralysis. Which was, again, quite useful. "Nice pokemon..." She muttered, before continuing to hand out the gear.

Marceline smiled at the girl and said a polite "Thank you." She took the Totodile out of her backpack and let it hobble around the foreign town. Mistralton City, was it? She held its hand as it led her to the nearest cafe.

Locke stopped when the girl complimented Scape. "Huh? Oh yea this is Scape. He's the son of my ampharos back in Johto." He turned around and walked towards Jim. "Hey you said you wanted to battle right?" Locke looked down at Scape, then over to Harley. Crap. This is a bad match up.

"So this is Unova?" Leon said to himself as he exited the plane which had just landed. Looking around he saw the usual stuff. A Pokemon Center, and gym, people's homes. But something caught his eye. There was a short line over by the Pokemon Center where it seemed a lady in a labcoat and a girl in green where giving away Pokemon and supplies. ~How convenient~ Leon thought. As he got closer to the stand he started pushing through the crowd, despite the fact it was rather small at this point. "Outta the way, Leon's comin' though!" he said somewhat rudely. "Hey there. I'll take a Pokedex and badge case, thank you very much." Leon said to the redheaded girl.

((You could always challenge the gym, as that's first come first serve. Or look for some wild pokemon or somethin'. If you want.))

 

The cafe was owned by an old couple. They seemed somewhat busy, but the cafe wasn't absolutely packed. They appeared to be selling MooMoo Milk at a discount.

"Alright. And it's no problem, Professor." She responded. The few lingering trainers dispersed, some going to catch a plane ride to Lentimas Town.

Marceline walked up to the counter, and ordered a MooMoo Milk. She needed to save up for Pokeballs and hopefully Super Potions, so she needed to be rational about the MooMoo Milk. She smiled kindly at the old couple, and saw that they seemed very poor. She paid double out of generosity, and waited patiently at a table and looked out a window. She noticed there was a battle going on outside of the window. "Huh.. we should head there after this," she said to her Totodile.

@@Ampharos, "Yeah, Harley needs to stretch his legs. Not that that's a real problem with- HARLEY! THAT ISN'T FOOD! GET OVER HERE!" Harley loves chewing on stuff, but sometimes the "stuff" doesn't like being chewed on. Luckily, he spat out the handbag and bounced over. "Ah, how can I be mad at a face like that?" I turned to Locke. "All right. I'm gonna run you over!"

Locke grinned. "We'll see about that. Scape, use cotton spore!" Scape's furry coat began to glow. Several balls of cotton appeared in the air around Harley. The cotton balls shoot towards Harley. If they were to hit, it would drop his speed a considerable amount.

Marceline tucked her MooMoo Milk in her bag as she walked over to the scene of the battle with Totodile on her head. She watched curiously as the two trainers battled; she certainly didn't want to disturb them. So she sat on a bench near the battle and studied the quarrel.

@, The spores landed, and Harley looked grouchy. Fortunately for me, he didn't need to be fast. "Okay, Harley, Rock Blast that chucklenuts!" I love Rock Blast. It has a good hit rate, it does a lot of damage, and it makes a nice sound, too! Harley poofed up and spat about four rocks at the other guy.

Scape jumped to the side but one of the rocks cuaght his tail. He spun out of control and landed on his face. The other rocks curved and hit him. "Scape! Thundershock him!" It was the only move that he could really use against Harley.

 

((I want to say that Harley is paralyzed due to rock blast being a physical move and Scape has static, but I don't see how Harley made contact so I guess he's fine.))

After Leon took his case and Pokedex he walked over to the gym, ignoring the battle going on in the middle of town.

"Skyla:The Highflying Girl" read the sign outside of the gym. "Something tells me this Skyla girl is a flying type trainer." Leon said before walking into the gym.

 

[are we gonna have the puzzles from the games or will we just skip to the gym battle?]
