Creamy Arty 6,252 July 20, 2013 Share July 20, 2013 I can't help but feel bad for people who would negatively obsess over anything, especially other people's enjoyment of a TV show. Somebody like that must lead a pretty miserable life overall if they would be so enraged over something of no consequence. Kyoshi made this ^^ Come join us on Equestria.tv on Fridays at 6 PM Eastern for our weekly movie nights!
MLPForums Phanact 1,374 July 20, 2013 Share July 20, 2013 I love them. It's an opportunity to change a persons mind and also stop someone from being ignorant. Let them hate, we'll debate! 1 let's love for me and lets love loud and let's love now cause soon enough we'll die
Silver Letter 1,832 July 20, 2013 Share July 20, 2013 Haters are sorts of ponies that try and attack a fandom for some reason. Oftentimes, they attack the pony and come up with all sorts of reasons for it. Though they are all false and are rooted in their interpretation of "gender" primarily because some must feel that the peaceful enjoyment of a television show undermines the well crafted indoctrination known as "gender" and "gender roles". Essentially any name is rooted in this ignorance and is quite shameful. Note that this isn't the same as passive teasing between friends. Silver Letter!!! Ownage 10 July 20, 2013 Share July 20, 2013 I don't really pay attention to them,I just ignore them.If they make fun of you for liking a good tv show then they aren't even worth listening to. Signature made by the awesome SirLunashy <
lincolnshirepony 527 July 20, 2013 Share July 20, 2013 (edited) On the internet, I just don't engage them. I don't see a reason to debate the merits of a TV show when someone has made their mind up already that it's stupid and that I'm stupid for liking it. I just try to avoid anyone who would hate me for my entertainment preferences. The beauty of the internet is that I don't have to respond to those people. I can just click away. Fortunately, I don't know of any hardcore haters irl. If I did run into one, then I would probably just tell them I didn't want to talk about ponies with them. If that didn't stop them, then I would probably go out of my way to avoid them. :B Honestly, I don't see a reason to automatically hate all bronies. We're a rather diverse group, aside from our one common interest. Brony haters just come across as bullies. Edited July 20, 2013 by lincolnshirepony 1 DFTBA. ~Silver Essence~ 2,625 July 20, 2013 Share July 20, 2013 I tend to ignore them. Haters will do anything in their wake to annoy you and make your life depressing. If you try reasoning them or respond back to them, they will never be the reasonable one. So try your best at ignoring them.
Sickman 205 July 20, 2013 Share July 20, 2013 (edited) What is there to think about them? They're people with differing opinions from us, and they choose to express their views and intolerance in a rather unpleasant manner.Let them hate.I'm not even sure that's the correct term to use here. "Hate" is such a flexible and arbitrary word nowadays, isn't it?I think it has more to do with not understanding, and, as we all know, people tend to fear that which they don't understand.Either way, I don't pay any attention to "haters". I don't feel like going into an argument with someone over likes, dislikes, and personal taste in subjects pertaining to kids' shows or television in general. It's not worth my time, and it shouldn't be worth yours, either. It would do good for you to remember that we ALL are intolerant of something. Smarts 1,622 July 20, 2013 Share July 20, 2013 I think haters are whiny children who need to grow up. If you don't like pony related stuff and loathe it with a passion, then there is a simple solution to this problem. Don't look at it. Ignore it and move on. Now, how is that so hard? The answer, it isn't. Haters just don't use their brains. Some bronies aren't much better, to be honest. They can be worse than the haters at times. They tend to overreact and make the situation much worse than it needs to be. A good example of bronies overacting was the Derpy incident. Shameful is what it was. Death threats and all that nonsense over a background pony...really guys? Also, instead of ignoring the haters, they feed them hate which in turn creates more hate. Remember, Love and TOLERATE! The word tolerate is there for a reason. 3 IF is best girl.
Callisto 1,877 July 20, 2013 Share July 20, 2013 I think the fandom may overrreact a tad to people who dislike our decent show about cartoon horses. Personally, I couldn't give less of a crap. I don't know why everyone cares so much.~ Y'know, I've been on this site for almost ten years and I've never had a proper signature. Ain't that something? H.P.Lovecolt24 107 July 20, 2013 Share July 20, 2013 My GF picks on me a lot for likeing the show but she still loves me . the worst possable thing i can think of is when your boss is a hater. just imagin being repremanded n jumped on for every little thing, most of which are false accusations, all because you wore you Doctor Whooves shirt to work one day. That type of hateing is hard to avoid, luckaly that boss was trasfered but still.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX 777 July 20, 2013 Share July 20, 2013 Personally, I don't mind nor care for 'haters' on the net. The issue for me is how one sees a 'hater' in comparison to others views, it could simply be someone who indeed bashes something OR it could be someone labeled as such because they simply dislike something. I never liked the labeling others as a 'hater' and it seems a bit moronic to be honest but that's the net for ya. There will always be someone who doesn't like X or Y, but you need to take the moment to think as to WHY they 'hate' something. Maybe it's because they have some sort of insecurities or perchance they indeed somehow find it as taboo or going against what makes up their identity. But what you need to keep in mind that it could be that these 'haters' are as such due to the way the fandoms user base acts. Maybe they did give the show a chance AND they simply did post in a non bashing way that they disliked the show but for whatever reason they received zealous reactions from 'bronies.' It could be that someone they know constantly forces FiM down their throats just as @Marpaleeperle experienced and in turn became volatile against anyone simply mentioning of the show just for the fact that they're sick of hearing about it (Clarification: @Marpaleeperle isn't one of these individuals.) It could also be that a 'hater' HAS apologized to 'bronies' for saying such hateful, bashful things about FiM but in turn was not accepted and received the exact opposite of what so many 'bronies' love to preach. You can go with the automatic setting, the simple assumptions of which our minds immediately draws itself to (that all 'haters' are a waste of time) or you can take a moment to think and see other possibilities (that they have their own personal reason for disliking the show.) Some individuals do indeed have a blind rage for something others enjoy, but take the moment to think as to why they dislike it in the first place. 1 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ If you do not GO after what you want, you'll never have it. Mzukiller 233 July 20, 2013 Share July 20, 2013 I hate them, why wouldn't I? I think they're immature, hypocritical scum. But I'm against the idea of lowering yourself to flinging around insults and proving them right that bronies "can't take criticism" If they hate My Little Pony, and they tease and mock others about it, then I feel pity for them, and their insecurity. "Those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind." -Dr. Seuss I think he says it the best. These people are either insecure or just have a completely out of whack set of priorities. But going back to the sense of insecurity is this; How many times do you guys reckon an anti-brony has made some artwork of a big, muscualr, "manly" guy murdering a pony? Or someone just coming to this site for example and then laughing their head off because it exists? These people don't even deserve attention, they deserve pity. Pity because they'll never be able to see past their own narrow view of the world. But of course, Bronies aren't saints either. The "Haterz gun haet" attitude needs to die in a hole, because it acts as an excuse to be as immature as possible and then brush off anyone telling you to dial it back as a "hater" and in that same vein, there's a difference between someone who just doesn't like the show and someone who goes out of their way to make the fans of said show their mortal enemies. I'm okay if someone doesn't like the show, different strokes. But when it gets to the point where they feel the need to declare war on people who like it, then they become pitiable. Okay then, that should cover the usual rant. I am a Brony. I love being a Brony, Twilight is best pony.
Nightmare Night 151 July 20, 2013 Share July 20, 2013 I think that they are just closed minded people afraid of change. Mostly because I used to be kind of a hater (nothing harsh i just hated some things i didn't understand). Ive since changed my ways dramatically but its not so easy for most haters out there. All you can do is ignore them and try not to respond to there idle threats or insults ( it just drives them to keep harassing you)
Golurk 468 July 20, 2013 Share July 20, 2013 People are entitled to their opinion. If they don't agree with me, that's their loss. However, I tend not to think of them as less because of it. Exceptions being when someone is blatantly trolling. I just can't wrap my head around why someone would take time out of their life simply to cause others distress. It just doesn't make sense to me. While I do think they're entitled to their opinion, I cannot say that they are taking it in a wise direction. They have actively lost my respect. Indeed. Seldon 12 July 20, 2013 Share July 20, 2013 I think some haters see the show as a menace to their masculinity. What they unconsciously think is something like "if I watch the show maybe I discover that I am gay/pedophile". These are usually ignorant and insecure people. A "good" kind of hater, instead, is the goth, who dislikes the show because it's positive, colourful and cute. Arguing with them it's just fun (if they are not ignorant and insecure, of course). Some haters are just trolls. However most of the haters do hate just because they think they are supposed to do so.
Demosthenes 13 July 20, 2013 Share July 20, 2013 The same way I feel about cloppers: I don't care what you do when nobody's watching, just don't go around spewing hatred at people for liking something that you hate.
