Best Final Fantasy

So I was thinking about my favorite Final Fantasy games and decided to write up a thread.

 

My favorite main game was Final Fantasy X, with XII pretty close.

I've played most main games (I,II,III,IV,V,VI,VII,X.XII,XIII) and plan to play the other PSX if they're released on Steam.

 

My favorite overall was Tactics, which is also in my top three favorite games of all time.

 

If you think I should add another game to the poll, just quote me and I'll see if I can get it done asap.

I have to go with VII that game trulyhad it all i still replay it like once a year, i went cyystal chronciles on spin off cause i did enjoy it. Abd anyone that would vote for XI or XIV would be stupid XI was fun but definity not best and XIV was so bad rhey redid it all(I'm a PS3 beta tester the redo is coming along good by the way it's been more fun then the original)

X and IX are the best games. VII is severely overrated. It's not bad but I don't think it's any better than the others. X had a brilliant story and gameplay. IX just..fuck that game. It was so perfect.

 

I still haven't played the early ones or VIII though.

VII is my favorite game in the main series.  I loved the storytelling and graphics when I was little and nowadays I really enjoy the materia system.

 

My favorite Final Fantasy game is Tactics: War of the Lions though.  It just has an amazing battle system, as well as great writing.

As far as the main series goes, VIII is my favorite, but IX is probably the best in terms of quality. IX returned to the more simple Final Fantasy roots while building on it, with unique characters, and an easy to understand ability system, and the story was the most engaging and solidly put together

 

For spin-offs, Tactics, it's my favorite in the overall series too

I like when people say "objectively the best" as if that was actually possible. You cannot mix objectivity with subjectivity like that. Objectively a game has x amount of sales more than another game. Objectively a game has 6 playable characters. The moment you throw words like "good" or "bad" or any variation thereof it's subjective. I'm not accusing anyone here but I see people putting "objectively the best" as a description as some way of trying to say "my opinion is better than yours and I know the facts and you don't" or something of the like, implying that the thing they are putting out as an opinion is somehow unequivocally the best and there is no argument against that in spite of any subjectivity. It doesn't work that way so when people say "objectively [subjective statement]" that's all I can think of and I detest the misuse of the word.

 

ANYWAY, on-topic:

 

Final Fantasy IX and XII are my favorite Final Fantasy games though I've yet to play most of the games before VI and I haven't played XIII-2 yet either. For the side games my favorites are easily Dirge of Cerberus and Crystal Chronicles.

It's Most Likely that Final Fantasy XI is what I play best, but also my #1 Final Fantasy Game. What I like best about the Game is the Endgame Events compared to MMORPG, has the best customer support and service, and of course Great Community. Out of my Top Favorite Final Fantasy Games, I would just perfer Final Fantasy XI, III, IV and XIII. My Favorite Spin-Off Games would be Dissidia 012, Tactics, and Tactics Advanced 1.

 

My Favorite Final Fantasy Mini-Game was Tetra Master from Final Fantasy IX and PlayOnline. I believe the PlayOnline version got removed for the time being and i'm guessing it was a Unpopular game to play against other people online.
