Rose watched with everypony else as the zebra heaved her bed across the room. It made an awful scraping noise as it slid on the wooden floor. Rose didn't seem especially surprised though. She probably would've done the same thing. 

 

After waiting around a few minutes longer, she decided to leave. She wasn't sure, but she thought that one of the other ponies was gone already, at least she wouldn't be alone if the other pony had gone, and it wasn't just her overactive imagination at work again. 

 

After a long walk, she arrived at what was apparently the center of camp, as there were other ponies there, even though she saw no signs leading her there. There was a group of ponies talking and one off by herself. She decided to sit down on the log next to the alone pony. 

 

"Hello there, I'm Rose. You have a very pretty voice."

Emerald Wave looked next to here. "Oh, thanks, Rose," she replied, giving a warm smile. "I'm Emerald." Emerald shook Rose's hoof gently. "I was just singing one of my favorite songs." Now she hardly even remembered why she was scared. Inferno was out of her mind and she was making a new friend. Maybe this would be fun for Emerald Wave, after all.

Blaze shook his head. "Maybe another time. I wish that donkey would come back and tell us what's up. He's taking bloody forever." Blaze laid back on the ground. He thought Art Streak was nice. Like really nice. And she was friendly. It was too bad she wasn't in his cabin, he was sure she would have been awesome to spend time with. BU then again they wouldn't always be in the cabins.

Emerald Wave heard Blaze say that the donkey was taking forever. She then noticed it has been a long time. "Wonder where he is," she called to Blaze. She looked around, trying to figure out where Matted, the donkey, was. When the donkey was nowhere in sight, she shrugged it off.

Rose was glad to finally meet a new pony who seemed to like her. "It's very pretty, I love the melody. What's it called?" It had been so long since she had heard any song so sweet. She was used to overhearing the rap that the boy ponies blared on the streets and in the coffee house.

Blaze noticed Art's blush but thought nothing of it. "Yea I'm getting the urge to go faff about myself. Just curious, how old are you Artsy? The age span for the camp seemed a little wide... Just curious." Blaze thought it was a good enough question. Yea. I'm just curious. He guessed that she was younger than him. Wait why do I care? "Nevermind, you don't have to answer that."

"It's called Our Special Place by The Queenstons. It has to be one of my favorite songs," said Emerald Wave. As Emerald Wave talked with Rose about the song, she was becoming impatient. Where was the donkey? And what was he doing, anyway? She tried to focus on socializing.

Blaze nodded slowly. As suspected. "Fifteen. Yea sorry. I don't really know what to talk about. You're obviously an art kind of pony. Im not exactly good with art and stuff." Blaze smiled sheepishly. Bollocks. I made things awkward didn't I. Hopefully she's not weirded out by me.

Rai tipped out the contents of her saddlebag and placed a torch and spare batteries inside, before slinging it on her back.

"I'm ready. Thanks for waiting," She said to Missy before turning to look at Star, "Hurry up, I don't want an excuse for the grump to shout at us."

Blaze nodded and a grin began to grow on his face. "Yea! I'm... a pyrotechnic to say the least. But I'm also a mechanic. I actually own a repair shop back in Trottingham. Unfortunately there isn't much technology in Equestria so business is a little slow. But it's something I enjoy doing. I know a ton of chemical reactions too. I guess I could be labeled as a pyromaniac," he said with a short laugh. He was too absorbed in talking about his talent to notice Artsy's dreamy look.

Missy Splash

 

Missy shot Rai a look, she didn't understand why the mare seemed so...Grumpy. Besides Star song seemed skittish and there was no reason to be snippy. "No problem," She said in response, and waited for Star. "I'm sure he won't, I mean he's got to know that some of us need more time to get settled. Plus we probably aren't the only ones, who are still in their cabins."

 

Lavender Pierce

 

Lavender trotted to the middle of camp and immediately spotted Blaze Finder and that purple mare from before. She breathed in deeply and began flying up to them. She really only wanted to talk to Blaze, but if she needed to befriend the purple filly to get to him, then so be it. It was about time she got some female friends anyway. But before she could reach them the purple pony kicked the cloud and it started raining. Right on her. "Aaah!" She shrieked. "My mane!" She wailed.

Blaze nodded. "Yea it's really one of those-" He was cut off by a shriek. He looked down under the cloud Artsy was on and saw another purple pegasus. Oh she was the rude one right? Blaze angled his body and bucked the cloud again so the rain would stop. "Huh, didn't think that would work. Are you okay? Maybe you should uh... Head back and dry off at your cabin..."

Star quickly finished and ran over to the door. "Sorry." She said, shuffling her hooves and looking down at the ground.
She gulped and looked up again, then looked passed everypony towards the center of camp where she could already see a small group starting to form.
She gulped again...she wasn't good in crowds...

Rai caught the look that Missy gave her and just gave her a blank faced look, she didn't really get why she got on the bad side of this pony, but she didn't really care. She tapped her hoof until Star finished doing whatever she was doing and didn't respond to the sorry. She felt kind of bad, realizing that she may have been a bit moody and mumbled a quick apology before speed walking away and joining the group of ponies by the campfire, sitting by herself, tapping a hoof impatiently, waiting for it to start.

Missy Splash

 

Missy didn't react when Rai darted away, she was pretty peeved at the mares impatience. Though she did mumbled something that Missy thought was an apology but could've been wrong. "It's no big deal!" She said to Star, then looped her hoof around the mare. "Let's go!" She squealed, starting forward, but at a slow pace in case she didn't like physical contact and wanted to pull away.

Lavender glowered at Blaze, and the purple pony. "You think?!" She snapped. "No, I'll just stay here and sit in a puddle of rain water!" She yelled sarcastically. Suddenly the purple pony flew around her in attempt to dry her. "STOP IT!" She screamed, flying away from her. Forget finding friends! This is ridiculous, I HATE THIS PLACE! She thought angrily as she darted towards her cabin, dry but pretty dizzy and enraged.

Blaze nodded and stared as the pegasus flew away. There was an annoyed expression on his face. "Yea she's quite a... I'll keep that to myself. Anyway like I was saying before that happened, mechanical work pyrotechnical work is something that has to be talent for you to be good at it. It's not like art where you can be decent at it but have a different talent. For my kind of stuff, your either good, or you know nothing about it. I like you Artsy. You're really... down to earth." It was a compliment, but he didn't realize that it may have sounded like he was flirting. He laid back on a log and waited for something, anything, to happen.

Star froze...Missy just put her hoof around her...what did she do? Star gulped. *Okay...hoof around the neck...how do I react...uhh...I cant do it back...and...I cant say no...that would be rude. I...uh...laugh? No...yes...just smile? No...Laugh...no no no.* She thought, still standing there as she ran through the things she should say to Missy...and then. "H-Hooves are good to have around friends." She said, mentally facehoofing. "I mean...like...they're good...because...yeah..." She mumbled, looking back down at the ground as she began walking along side Missy.

Sorrow was still reading over her notebook, before hearing something just slam in to the cabin. She immediately yelped and darted quickly under her covers, shaking, and not knowing who would be busting in here. Not only that, but she was honestly scared of everyone here...

Missy smiled and dropped her hoof from around Star's neck. "What has no one ever done that to you before?" She asked. "If not then that's totally okay! I'll just do it all the time so you can have some experience!" She joked, grinning at the mare.

"Soo, what are you looking forward to doing here? I heard there's a pool and a obstacle course!"

Lavender Pierce

 

Lavender flew into her cabin, her eyes nearly brimming with tears. It wasn't as though she hated getting wet. She had just gotten her mane done but It was mainly because she was wearing her belt, that had all of her scissors in them and she didn't want them to get rusty. The only time they ever got wet was when she gently cleaned them with a damp wash cloth, but even then she blow dried them immediately. She ran into the bathroom and spread her belt out on the counter, and quickly began drying them off one by one. When she was finished she trotted out and put them into her bags. She wouldn't make the mistake of taking them out with her ever again.

 

She was about to leave when she noticed that one of the beds had a lump under it. She approached carefully and tapped the lump with her hoof. Hoping it wasn't a giant bug or some type of animal.

Emerald Wave felt like she didn't fit in. She really wished somepony she knew from school was here. She wouldn't feel so awkward. She was also getting bored. She wanted to rust to the cabin to grab her notebook and write her horror story, but she didnt want to get in trouble. "Excuse me?" she asked the purple Pegasus. "Are we allowed to retrieve stuff from the cabin?"

Star listened to Missy and took a deep breath before replying. "M-My parents made me come...I dont really know what...there is...to do." She said, before looking at the forest around them, gulping. "Its so big." She mumbled, more to herself then to Missy as she looked back down at the ground.

Blaze laughed a little. "Funny huh? Never really thought of myself as that funny. I'm fine right here." Blaze mentally face hoofed. I'm avoiding her aren't I? It would make things awkward anyway. Blaze closed his eyes. He was beginning to get impatient. He took a deep breath. Don't lose your temper Blaze.

Rose could tell that Emerald was getting tense, and she bet she could guess why.  "Hmm, Our Special Place? I'll have to remember that." The pony next to her asked a question. "Hmm, I'm not sure if that's a great idea... He might come back, and I don't think he'd appreciate someone missing. And where is that donkey, anyways?! He tells us to get here immediately and then he doesen't even show up?" When she started talking, it was more of a loud whisper, but it had progressed into a loud shout.

Rose looked around the field a little nervous, worried that she might have attracted unwanted attention from the other ponies. Sure enough, she saw a few heads turned in her direction. "Sorry." She mumbled to Emerald, her ears tilting back in an embarrassed way. She also really hoped that donkey wasn't just around the corner, listening in.

"Oh no, it's not your fault, Rose, I'm just really impatient. I've never been to camp before, and he should be here by now. Hint hint!!" she laughed. She looked to Blaze. "Oh, I'm sorry, I'll ask somepony else," she groaned, shooting him an irritated look, and turning away to sit back down.

Blaze pondered the idea. "I don't fly much. I'm actually decent for some reason. But yea not fast or anything, if that's what your getting at." He thought he saw a frown on Artsy's face but it was covered up so quickly that he just shrugged it off as not happening. Gah why won't the bloody donkey tell us what we're gonna do already?!
