" now calm down there hotshot, that pony isnt here to hurt us. plus, we could use all the survivors we can find." Grand trotted over and offered the rest of her dinner to the mysterious pony. " please, join us for the night, you must be tired, not to mention lonesome" she said in a motherly tone

"As I said, I am The Ghost, a masked vigilante with extraordinary abilities and a rough past. I spend my days helping what little survivors there are left, because I don't wish to see them suffer like I did. Since I've stumbled along here too, I might as well ask who you are."

"Zeta.. You and I seem to have a similar past."

Slowly he walked up to the pony, seeing that he may not be as hostile as he thought he was. Once in front of him, he decided that eye contact was necessary and looked at him.

"I am, the bodyguard of this group, but protection would be helpful since there is 10 of us."

Stephan smiled from under his mask at Grand. "No. I can't take this. You need it more than I do." Stephan walked over to the grass and sat down comfortably on it. "So, who are you all? I just ran all the way through these woods to see if there were survivors in need. I might as well get to know you."

"Well. I am Grand Finale. I hope this questiong isnt too direct but I really must know. have you been to ponyville recently? are there any... survivors?" she said hopefully. she continued to eat the mush in her bowl, but looked at the strange pony, excited to hear his answer

"Zeta.. You and I seem to have a similar past."

Slowly he walked up to the pony, seeing that he may not be as hostile as he thought he was. Once in front of him, he decided that eye contact was necessary and looked at him.

Stephan nods and grins under his mask. He then puts his hove on Zeta's shoulder and talks in a proud tone. "You seem very cappible, Zeta. Unfortunately, I won't be able to go along with your group. I'm constantly watching over this wasteland of a city. It needs me."

Lady sighed in relief as she was helped up and reassured. She watched as the many surrounding ponies discussed locations and introduced themselves. Lady used one hoof to nervously scrape at the ground. "I-i don't mean to interupt but... My name is Lady, Painted Lady." She mumbled softly.

Stephan lowers his head in shame. Thoughts of the past start running through his mind. "Very few are left, but yes. There are ponies still alive over there. They're currently trying to rebuild a city a life for themselves. Food and water is scarce and their hope is running out... and so is mine."

Stephan nods and grins under his mask. He then puts his hove on Zeta's shoulder and talks in a proud tone. "You seem very cappible, Zeta. Unfortunately, I won't be able to go along with your group. I'm constantly watching over this wasteland of a city. It needs me."

He nodded a little bit, and looked behind him at the group. "It's your choice then, not mine.."

At that time, Zeta noticed one of the ponies introduce herself. She seemed like one not to be ignored, so he trotted over to her and let Stephan be.

"What can you do to help out our group, miss Lady?

Grand Finale heard there were survivors and grew ecstatic. " we must go!well at least I must go" she said, realizing how difficult it would be to take nine other ponies with her to what sounds like a desolate place. " Might anyone care to join me and head to ponyville?" she said with hope. She would make the trip alone but it would be much easier if she had some company

Lady shrunk down a bit, slumping her shoulders. Her talent was Arts and Crafts, what good would that do for anypony in a situation like this? Lady covers her cutie mark and sighs, "Well.... I'm am artist. I'm a decent cook, cullinary arts isn't my specialty but it's one of my talents."

[The Ponyville Critic 304]

Fire Horn was a small distance away from the camp, searching for Trotters, actually, searching was the wrong word, he was making sure that none would come too close, he wasn't a hunter, nor was he very good at hunting, his only talent really was making fire, which in this situation was a very useful skill. Deciding that the coast was clear, he decided to make his way back to the camp.

Josh looked at at finale "If you need to go ill accompany you there " he smiled then turned to lady and zeta. He nodded at zeta and bowed to lady to show his respect and hopefully make the new pony feel welcome "hello and welcome to that camp you were not hurt when you fell were you? "

"Thank yo": she said politely, and left to go and pack her small collection of things. she decided she would leave the next day. exhausted, Grand fell asleep in her tent, without another word to the other survivors. She hadnt been this tired in a long time

Zycrin had heard every world that they said and started to make a run for his camp. he was running he bumped into fire horn who was retuning back to her camp. Zycrin quickly got on his hooves and had drawn his sword thinking that he would have to fight his way out.

Lady nodded slowly as she managed a small smile. Her eyes were fixiaed on her new addresser as she spoke, "Oh I'm fine, really. Just a couple of cuts and bruises is all." A strange pony pushed past him, stumbled over and pulled out his sword. Fire Horn ran back to the camp as fast as he could, greeted by Zeta...

"I was patrolling, making sure we aren't ambushed by any Trotters. Seemed like the smartest thing to do, that is, unless i was followed." Fire Horn chuckled. "Which i wasn't, i made sure of it." He said in a more serious tone."

Josh was growing tired but decided that someone would need to watch out for trotters during the night while some of the ponies slept so he flew up into a nearby tree and got himself comfy. "lets hope there are none nearby tonight" Josh sighed as he scanned around for any irregular disturbances in the dark

The whole time Zeta was with the group and didn't realize that Lady was probably the one cooking? It was unusual for him but realizing that he's only been with the group for several hours, it made sense that he didn't know.

Racer looked around at the commotion, pulling out his knife, preparing to strike at any trotters. Apparently, they were just talking about somepony cooking or something. He didn't really pay much attention to what was going on, he just continued thinking about his family. He got up, standing on shaky legs. "Lady, we can use all the help we can get. You're more then welcome to be here."

Lady giggled, "Well played." She then hugged the pony tight and thanked him for the invitation. She was growing awefully lonely and anti-social when she roamed alone. "I appreciate how kind you're being to me. Most ponies usually chase me off." She then released the pony.

Lady studdied the barely visible shaking of he pony known as Racer's legs. She frowned at the sight and wondered whether the pony was injured or maybe just cold. "Thank you." She murmered. "Are you... Okay?" Concern ebbed her words. She couldn't stand the site of a pony in pain, it was a terrible sight.

"Do not get ahead of yourself, Lady." Zeta replied. "I would only be doing this to keep our group together, and so that no one leaves."

The stallion noticed her look behind him at another pony who was apparently shaking, and looked back too. The first thing being noticed was how unstable Racer looked when standing. Clearly he needed some attention and walked over to be used as a support.

"I would say the same thing as her."

"Oh, I'm fine..." Racer looked down at his legs and mentally yelled at them to stop. "I pulled something awhile ago, but it's fine now, I guess they just... do that sometimes now." He caught the note of concern in her voice. "They don't hurt, if that's what you're worried about. I honestly can't feel them much anymore even." 

 

He didn't tell her that standing was an agony, or the real reason he was like this.

( What have I been missing?) Stephan feels a terrible disturbance in the air. He feels that yet another trotter hoard is coming towards Ponyville. "I'm sorry, all. I can't stick around. I have some business to tend to. Maybe our paths will cross again." With that, Stephan disappears into the forest in a red and black blur. (Please tell me what's been happening. I wasn't on to follow along)
