"Did he really just say that?" Kaz was at a loss for words after the stallion said this to him. He forced a smile and shouted back "just a moment, I'm still doing my make... My mane! I'm still doing my mane up." With this slip of the tongue, Kaz rushed his schedule of pure vanity and trotted over to Bass.

Bass noticed Kaz trotting to him, and smiled. "Doing your what? mane up?" He thought to himself, unsure if he heard right. Ah, it couldn't have been important. "So we're gonna head to the cafe? Let me just grab my bag, and throw on my shades. Never was much of a "bright morning" type of pony," he says, levitating the bag onto his back, and the shades over to his face. He then looked back to see if Kaz was ready to go.

 

(OOC: In case it was unclear, the shades were in the bag. He hadn't been wearing them, obviously, last night. x3)

Bass leaned into his partner, planted a kiss on him, and looking him in the eyes said, "I'm open to everything, you know that. Let's just keep it slow for now though, at least in public. I know I'll have to come out with it eventually, but right now I have all I've built up over the past year and a half potentially on the line, and I can't see myself letting that get torn down by some bigoted ponies who hold power over the music industry. Especially after last night, I want you to know that I want this to work, I don't sleep with ponies whom I don't want anything to do with, albeit it had been a while since I had, but still." He let out a big breath, finishing his monologue, and planted another kiss on his partner, "Is that alright, babe?" Now, that was a word he didn't use often, babe.

This was proving easier than Rut-Light thought, the repairs were going smoothly and the day wasn't even hot.  He finished placing the last of the track in place, adjusted it slightly and began to work on connecting it to the other pieces so it wouldn't move when trains, coal trucks, yard shunters and other equipment that may pass over it.  When he was done repairing the track he moved the broken of pieces of track out of the way and went to start on the old locomotive; to say he was excited would be the understatement of the century.

Richard grabbed his flightcase and portable turntable and walked out of the hotel, leaving a sign on the door stating that there was no need for room service, and walked towards the cafe, hoping he'd bump into some pretty mares or a friend from last night.

The donut had gone down a treat and the smoothie soon to fell victim to Bubble's sweet tooth. Pretty quickly however she found herself satisfied that she couldn't possibly eat any more. She glanced outside, sipping at the dregs of the drink through a straw and wondering what she should do today.

 

Usually in a new place she would wander a while, get a feel for where she was so that she could minimise the amount of time she would spend getting lost. After her hopeless search for the hotel yesterday though, she felt like she had wandered enough. She needed a plan!

 

"Okay Bubble, today, you will get stuff done! " She announced to the cafe. "Step one, find out when the trains are going to go again!"

 

She pulled out the battered notepad and scribbled this down as she spoke. Since nopony seemed to object to her rambling she continued for the rest of her master plan.

 

"Step two, think of other steps to the plan!"

 

She wrote this too, beamed at how organized she felt and returned the pad to her bag, sitting back and taking in the last bit of peace and quiet before acting on her ideas, blissfully misinterpreting the bemused smiles of one or two of the other customers and staff.

Poison trotted along the streets of Baltimare, beaming at each and every pony he passed by. The last day, he couldn't walk around and enjoy the city much after his shift in the cafe due to some last-minute complications. But now that he had a day off, he went out as early as he could to explore everything, just as originally planned.

 

With his trusty saddlebag on his back, he stopped to window-shop at a local confectionery before turning his attention to some commotion happening nearby.

 

"Get lost you filthy hobo! Go on! Out!"

 

Poison could hear somepony screaming, followed by a shower of strawberries hitting the supposed hobo. Oh my... He thought to himself, looking at the attacked pony with concern. Without thinking much about it, he decided to follow the fruit-covered earth pony.

"Hey, buddy! Wait up!" He shouted. "Let me help you with that." Poison opened his saddlebag while trotting towards the blue pony and swiftly pulled out a small towel, lifting it with magic. Upon getting close enough, he literally launched the towel against the pony's face and started cleaning off the strawberry mess.

 

"Rough day, eh? Don't worry, we've all had them!"

Pondah turned his head towards the pony addressing just as the towel made its way to his face.

 

"What the...?"

 

​Pondah shook his head as the towel rubbed around his face, partly so the towel could get all of his face and partly so it didn't suffocate him.

 

"Thanks. I wouldn't say 'rough day'. I just need to work on a few minor things, that's all." Pondah said during moments when the towel wasn't covering his mouth.

After cleaning most of the fruit covering the pony, Poison carefully folded the towel and put it back into his saddlebag. "Well, I still believe that you shouldn't have been treated this way by that unicorn... Unless you were stealing, but then again, shooting strawberries against you was definitely not the appropriate solution." He thought for a moment, inspecting the blue pony up and down. "Tell me. What are you exactly in need of? I will gladly help if I can!"

Sunny walked out of her bathroom and trotted towards Candy. "You can borrow my brush if-" Now she was the one cut off. She blushed in surprise as Candy hugged her and gave her a kiss on the lips. She forgot how to react for a moment and was about to kiss the mare back when her stomach growled loudly, ruining the moment. Her cheeks blazed with embarrassment as she smiled apologetically at Candy, not sure what to say.

Candy laughed lightheartedly, "I guess we really should get breakfast then." She didn't care that they didn't get to finish the kiss, she was just glad that they started one. This was the first time she was even close to having any sort of partnership with a mare. She was excited and practically overflowing with happiness. "C'mon," She motioned her head and lead them out of the apartment. "Let's get something to eat, Sunshine." She grinned.

  Rut-Light couldn't believe his eye's, "Am-am I dreaming?"  Sitting perched on top of the rails was an old and rusted E.R.W 0-4-0, steam train built in 1985.  Mainly used as yard shunters these locomotives had the most simple of all wheel bases with no wheels in the front, four in the middle and none in the back.  Rut-Light's boss came from behind him and stopped next to him and smiled, "Beauty isn't she?  The last of her kind, left to rust.  That's why it's your job to bring her back to the world of the living...are you up to the challenge?"  

 

  Steam Iron aka: his boss looked at Rut-Light with seriousness in his eyes and a straight face, he knew better than to argue with his boss when he's like this.  "Absolutely, just give me today, half of tomorrow and she'll be steaming just fine.  Anything I should know before I start?"  Steam Iron scratched his chin with a hoof and said, "Well, this particular locomotive has been here for about..23 years, so she's bound to be delicate in some places.  I believe she's missing a regulator, a brake handle and a couple other important things as well."  He was just about to walk away when he turned his head and said, "Good luck Mr.Light, lets hope you can revive a legend."

Kaz was discouraged when Bass negatively answered to his joke yet the follow up to this still touched his heart. "Awh! Aren't you sweet?" He replied gleefully. Kaz was quite glad that after his financial crisis that he finally had someone to rely on not only as a partner but also for general support in life.

Bass simply continued his smile in response to the stallion's statement as the began their way to the cafe for Kaz's frap. This whole time, Bass was still unaware of Kaz's new-found dependence on him financially... As a matter of fact, he didn't even remember if he knew what Kaz did for a living, and all the stress from the early morning had kept him from bringing it up, but with a whole day to be spent together, it was bound to come up in conversation eventually. And so, they made their way down the busy early morning streets of Baltimare, simply enjoying being in each other's company as they went.

Richard walked into the cafe and asked for an strawberry/banana smoothie with blueberries and whey protein. It's a meal, it's delicious, and it's a drink, what more could you want in a smoothie? He as looking for a place to sit down when he saw Bubble. "Bubble? Is that you?" Richard said, walking over to her.

They left the apartment and walked the two blocks to the cafe. It was a nice morning, and Sunny was glad she was with Candy for it.  After they were seated,, Sunny looked at the menu and asked, "So, what do you think you're going to order?"

After dancing the night away in the club Dawn found a cheap hotel to spend the night. After sleeping in Dawn left the hotel and wandered the streets of Baltimare until she found a small cafe. She walked in, and ordered some tea and a blueberry muffin. She sat down at a small table near the counter as she waited for her order. She leaned back in her chair taking in the ambience and watching the other ponies in the cafe.

Memory wasn't one of the many forms of intelligence that emerald possessed: she sometimes forgot to eat. Or to meet ponies she had agreed to. She even passed out once when she forgot to breath for too long.

 

However, after the disaster that was yesterday she remembered every detail.

 

"Uh... Uhm... Maybe?" She squeaked, not quite certain what she was supposed to say or do.

"Probably a nice salad, and some apple juice!" Candy said it slightly more excitedly than she should've about her choice of breakfast. In truth, she was just simply ecstatic. Though they were short-lived, she had had her first two kisses this morning and it was almost all she could think about. When she realized how wide her smile was she toned it down a bit, and grinned apologetically at Sunny. "Heheh...sorry about that massive smile, I looked a bit of a dork." She said, unsure that Sunny even knew what she was talking about. "So, what're you going to order?"
