Skycoaster

 

Skycoaster made one more trip to the bar, getting another cider. He was a lightweight at drinking and had never had more than one drink in his life in one night, and here he was on number three. He hit the dance floor again, this time showing no shame, grinding up agents a random mare. He eventually found his way up agents the stage, waiting for a break in the music. "Whoo! Better than Pon-3! Whoooo!" As he passes out.

Bass was nearly to his first break in his set. He couldn't believe he'd made it an hour and a half in without a single mistake.. Everything was rolling well. Other than, of course, the drunken orange pony who nearly collapsed right onto the speakers when he passed out. He was just starting his newest release, "Hooves Down" when he thought out his plan for his break. "I need a drink. I'm starting to get edgy." Then, as his track finished, he set the mixer to auto-play the next two songs with his presets, so he could go retrieve his drink. The DJ stepped down from his stage, and walked over to order the beverage. The stallion told the barmare to deduct the cost from his pay. "Alright, how does one stallion cause me so much worry? Jeez, maybe I'd been alone for so long for a reason," he said aloud to nopony in particular, assuming they couldn't hear him over his automated music anyway.

"WHY IS IT SO COLD?!" Kaz thought to himself. He wondered what Bass' reaction would be when he showed up, slightly more sober and in control of his actions. "He'll bucking murder me." Kaz contemplated the situation over and over again. In his still slightly inebriated state, he took a sharp turn down a dark alley that he didn't recognize, even though he had lived in this city for a while.

After a while of wondering down the streets of Baltimare, Pondah finally came to a building of worth. He took more steps towards so he could read the sign.

 

'A cinema, eh? Must be some good eats round here somewhere. Would've thought that sandwich would last for so short a time?'

 

Pondah went around the side of the cinema towards the bins in search of his dinner. Pushing open the lid of the cleanest looking bin, Pondah raised himself into his hind legs and began to search.

 

'Hm... not particularly great pickings here. Nothing interesting or special. Just plain old burnt kernels, empty soda bottles, a piece of taco shell. Eww... fermented pears. How hideous. Let's check the next bin...

 

Pondah shuffled along to the next bin. It was almost identical to the first, except for some patches of grime and a catch-lock system.

 

'This is slightly less promising. Everything's near the bottom. If I reach in further, I should be able to reach that cabbage end. Almost there... Further... Deeper... AHH!

 

Pondah tumbled into the bin and the lid shut behind, creating a noise that he found unwelcome.

 

"CLICK!"

 

'Great, I'm stuck in a freaking bin. A perfect end to a perfect day.

After a while of wondering down the streets of Baltimare, Pondah finally came to a building of worth. He took more steps towards so he could read the sign.

Kaz continued to stumble down the random alley when he heard banging coming from a large emerald bin. "WHO'S THERE?!" Kaz shouted in trepidation, thinking of only the worst situations. "I HAVE MACE!" He threw his voice down the alley towards the bins and edged slowly towards the noise. 

 

Kaz spotted that the noise was coming from inside the bin and attempted to open it to inspect the cause.

Sunny smiled and let Candy lean on her for the fourth time in two days. It was nice, and she enjoyed being so close to Candy. She settled down in her seat, leaned her head onto Candy's, and watched the movie.

After the movie, the two mares walked out of the theatre. 

"That movie was so corny, but it was nice to watch it with you," Sunny said, giggling a bit while smiling at the mare beside her.

A bit of time had passed since Kaz had let another pony out of a locked bin and Kaz stumbled away still half-drunkenly.
 
"This is the club right?" Kaz said to himself aloud through a thick haze covering his sight. The haze was not present for anyone else but was merely a guest of the purple eyed pony. "Ugh god, I'm so lost." Kaz slurred around in his mind.

 

 

I was going to introduce some dialogue but the timeskip made it so it wouldn't make sense for me to still be with you in that alley D:

"That movie was so corny, but it was nice to watch it with you,"

 

 

"You have no idea..." She giggled, "It's late...want to go to my apartment? It's a little messy cause I got sloppy living by myself, but...if we clean together, that's just a little more time we can spend together." She gave a hopeful smile. "To me it doesn't matter what I do with you...you make me feel...right." She blushed.

Bass had played through the rest of his set rather well. By no means was it his best performance, but hay, the ponies in this club were more drunk than his usual crowd so it wasn't all that important. As he finished pulling down his personal equipment, he walked up to talk to his manager about his performance. After a short chat, and his pay check, he turned and left the club to head back to the apartment.

 

"I honestly don't know how I made it through that. That paycheck was nice though. Anyway, no to deal with the problem at hoof.... Kaz. Just need to make it back, and we are SO having a long discussion... if he's even woken up yet... Luna, he was so drunk! That's not alright, plus what he did to.... what's her name. He'll be lucky if he doesn't end up in jail!"

 

The pony finished his rant and galloped down the streets of Baltimare, avoiding the usually slurry of drunken ponies who want to talk about his music. Once he returned to the apartment block he trotted upstairs.

 

"Aw Jeez. I don't have a key." He began knocking on the door, "Kaz! Open up. I'm Back!"

Sunny blushed deeply and smiled. "I don't care what we do either,  as long as I'm with you, I'm happy." she muttered as they walked on the sidewalk.

She makes me feel right too. I've really fallen for her.

The two mares arrived at Candy's apartment fairly quickly. they went in and Sunny giggled at what she saw. It wasn't too messy, so it wouldn't take too long. 

"We should probably get to cleaning."

"Ugh, Bass is gonna hate me. Right, home time, now." Kaz whispered under his breath as he backpeddled towards his home. After a few moments of wondering around lost, Kaz finally got his bearings and headed home.

 

He arrived at the door to his apartment and slowly climbed the mountain of stairs awaiting him. Once he had reached the summit, a flag was already waiting for him, one that had been planted ages ago which fluttered angrily in the strong winds.

 

"Oh buck." Kaz hushed as he stared at Bass, stood outside the apartment door.

"We should probably get to cleaning."

 

It took them all of about 15 minutes to clean the entire place. Candy really did get sloppy, even though it wasn't much. "Maybe you can teach me not to be such a slob." She laughed, "And...then again, perhaps you could teach me to be that pretty as well." She grew a sly grin, and pecked Sunny's lips. Not long after, she couldn't help but sigh, "I'm so glad I met you." A moment after that, she yawned. It had been a long day. "You wanna talk a bit before bed?" She smiled.

Bass almost started shouting when Kaz didn't come answer the door. "Dammit!" He half yelled, before giving up, and turning to head back down to the street. Just then, he noticed a certain purple-maned stallion standing on the stairway.

 

Almost at a loss for words, Bass simply stuttered a "W-Where the b-buck were you?" upon seeing the unicorn not only awake, but coming back from Luna knows where.

Bass almost started shouting when Kaz didn't come answer the door. "Dammit!" He half yelled, before giving up, and turning to head back down to the street. Just then, he noticed a certain purple-maned stallion standing on the stairway.

Candy's yawn caused Sunny to yawn as well, followed by a giggle.

"Sure, if we can both stay awake long enough to talk that is." she grinned and sat down on the couch, motioning for Candy to sit with her.

"Is there anything you'd like to talk about?"

"First thing's first. You're lucky my gig went okay. I was worrying the whole time because of you!"

 

He turned and looked out the long window of the room.

 

"Now tell me, WHAT THE BUCK WERE YOU THINKING?!" He shouted as he swung around to face the couch bound pony. "First of all, you were drunk! AT ONE OF MY MOST IMPORTANT SHOWS OF MY CAREER SO FAR!" By this point, the stallion couldn't contain his rage.

 

"AND THEN WHAT YOU DID TO THAT MARE! SHE JUST WANTED TO BE ON MY SET CREW! By luna you couldn't have acted worse out there! You'll be lucky if you don't end up in jail for assault!"

 

The tan unicorn lowered his tone as he came to a close on his monologue, "You want us to be together, but it's just not going to work with you acting that way. Kaz, it just won't- I have things to worry about, and you just can't be one of them." He let out a sigh as he finished, and looked into the purple eyes of the stallion across from him with a look of distaste, love, passion, anger, and sadness all in one.

Starshine was eternally grateful that the DJ show didn't end with fire and police raid, as it usually would when drunk ponies are dropping on the floor like flies. When the DJ himself put together his equipment and trotted away to get home, Starshine took this chance and snatched any dropped valuables he could get without attracting any attention to himself. He snickered, not that these drunk ponies would remember what had happened. During his looting spree, he came across a knocked out orange pegasus. He looked even worse for wear than any other drunk ponies around there.

"Hey, mister," Starshine nudged the stallion a few times. The smell of alcohol reeked from the stallion. "Are you still alive there? Holy, looks like you get a bit too much cocktail there."

"I love you so much, Bass and I'm so sorry. I just have trust issues, we can fix this can't we? We can fix... us... me?" Kaz said as he lay his head on Bass and looked up into the bottom of his chin.

Bass finished and turned away from the purple unicorn once more, looking at the bright moon in the sky through the window.

"Me too," Sunny smiled and returned the peck. Candy's yawn caused Sunny to yawn as well, followed by a giggle. "Sure, if we can both stay awake long enough to talk that is." she grinned and sat down on the couch, motioning for Candy to sit with her. "Is there anything you'd like to talk about?"

 

 

Candy felt a little playful, and excited even with her tiredness. She once again grew a sly grin. Then, with no warning, said "Come here, cutie!" as she playfully tackled Sunny onto the rest of the couch so that they were face to face. "We can lay down while we talk." She laughed, there was just barely enough room for them to lay down together on the couch, on their sides, and face to face. Candy made it so they did exactly that. It was rather intimate, but she was comfortable with that. Candy took the side that had her back towards the floor. "Well...what do I wanna talk about?" She giggled, and sighed. "Just...you...so much about you I can't yet put into words." She fluttered her eyes, "You're all that's been on my mind lately." She smiled widely.

Kaz saw Bass turn away and decided this was his opportunity. He wrapped his hooves around Bass' flank (OOC: by this, I mean waist) and kissed him softly on the base (OOC: dat pun.) of his neck and slowly pecked his way up to his cheek.

 

"Please don't be mad at me." Kaz whispered into Bass' ear whilst he tightened the hug and allowed his warm breath to roll down the soft curvature of Bass' neck.

 

"I promise you, I'll learn to trust you completely. It's me and you against the world, darling." He said as he loosened his grip slightly and edged back the slightest amount to create some tense distance between them.

He started, quietly calling to the pony in the kitchen, "You do know how much I care about you and want to be with you right?" Without waiting for an answer, he continued, "and we've been over this a few times, but I JUST have a lot to worry about. I'm not even worried about the publicity anymore actually. I was gonna let it go public, because my manager was the one I was worried about and I was gonna fire him anyway. I felt horrible for having you try to hide something like that, but now that's not what I'm concerned with. I'm concerned about you. Listen, I said that I love you last night, and by Luna I meant it. I'm not sure how, but I did. I just- I don't know. I think I may need some time. Plus I'm kind of tired. I'll take the couch tonight, if you don't mind." Bass added a slight yawn as he finished speaking, and finally turned to face the unicorn in the kitchen, awaiting a response.

Bass stood there, staring at the work of the lunar princess. It was a beautiful, albeit chilly night, but he was torn between two very different paths. "Kaz." He started, quietly calling to the pony in the kitchen, "You do know how much I care about you and want to be with you right?" Without waiting for an answer, he continued, "and we've been over this a few times, but I JUST have a lot to worry about. I'm not even worried about the publicity anymore actually. I was gonna let it go public, because my manager was the one I was worried about and I was gonna fire him anyway. I felt horrible for having you try to hide something like that, but now that's not what I'm concerned with. I'm concerned about you. Listen I said that I love you last night, and by Luna I meant it. "No, I'm in the wrong so I get the couch, go to bed and rest up. I suppose we can finish off this... discussion tomorrow. Just please, don't leave me... I need you." Kaz said, stood in the door silhouetted by the bright lights behind him. "I'll do anything for us to not end here, just don't leave me now."

 

Kaz walked back to the couch and kissed Bass on the cheek but didn't move away, he tilted his head downward so his snout rubbed against Bass' fur and breathed softly.
