Watching the stallions came and went by had left Starshine a bit confused, especially the dark blue stallion who hurriedly excused himself deeper into the alley. After moments of pondering, Starshine decided to let it pass and take a rest, he would need his strength when the sun disappeared over the horizon. With a sigh he settled deeper into his makeshift cardboard bed.

 

"Hey," Pondah said softly, trying not to alarm the homeless pony. "Do you want this cake?"

 

Starshine perked up. "Cake? How did you find anything like that?" he asked, turning to the stallion. He sniffed the piece of pastry. It smelled good, not surprising considering just next door there was a cafe. "Uh... Thanks for the offer, but I can't really eat anything with dairy cream in it. They give me gas, a lot of it, too," he laughed nervously. "You can keep the entire thing for yourself."

 

The stallion looked like he was not in a better condition than himself. Starshine looked around him warily before he spoke, "Say, where did you come from?"

Sunny blushed a bit at the pony's comment.

"Um, th-thanks."

"Oh, th-that's nice. I-I was a student of Princess Celestia's at the Academy. I decided to move here t-to settle down and sell art."

She blushed again, not sure why she was telling him this. 

"A-anyway, um, yes please. Um, could i have..." she glanced at the menu. "Um, just some toast and apple juice please."

"Um, th-thanks."

 

 

Candy gave a quick smile to the blushing mare, and began eating her eggs.

 

"So, I guess Pink and I are going to MusicMare when we're both ready. Would you like to join us?" "Hm, a club. I wouldn't mind a dance with her." She grew a sly smile at the thought, but realized she was smiling for everyone else to see, and quickly stopped. She was slightly embarrassed, but didn't blush, thinking it would seem like nothing.

"Also, I think you made the right choice with eggs."

Oh thanks. I like eggs for breakfast and after a long trip I was tempted. I can't wait to see the city, I bet it's amazing!

 

 

I-I was a student of Princess Celestia's at the Academy.

 

Wow you were the Princess's student? What was it like? Oh I bet it must be awesome to have magical powers and be with the princess. I wish I could talk to her.

"A-anyway, um, yes please. Um, could i have..." she glanced at the menu. "Um, just some toast and apple juice please."

 

"Right away!" Poison waved a hoof and went to the back part of the cafe once again, soon coming out of it holding another tray containing the toast and the apple juice. He put everything on the table and, again, sat down on the nearby chair. He just quietly listened to their conversation, especially intrigued by the peculiar way that the beige mare spoke to Sunny Dew.

 

"So, I guess Pink and I are going to MusicMare when we're both ready. Would you like to join us?"

 

MusicMare, huh?... Poison thought to himself. Sounds like a fun place... He took a quick look at the clock on the wall and then around the establishment. His shift would be over soon.

Sunny thought about it for a moment, and wasn't sure, but didn't want to be a stick in the mud, so she shrugged, saying "S-sure."

Sunny was taken aback by Pink Mist's excitement, but spoke anyway.

"U-um, it was interesting, and the Princess said I had good natural magic abilities, b-but to be honest i'm not sure if magic is my true calling. I-in all honesty, i'd prefer to be painting or drawing than to be sitting next to a pile of books, studying magic. Th-that's not to say I'm ungrateful, or dislike magic, i-it was an immense honor to learn under the Princess."

I'm rambling. I should just shut up now.

Luckily, her food came, and she used it as a distraction for her mouth.

((Just a note to clarify, she doesn't have her cutie mark yet either, but it only really bugs her if she's laughed at for it.))

Well that's nice. I like to sketch every now and then but it's not really my thing. I'm not really good at it. I wish I could get better but I don't see it happening.

Pink knew she would enjoy the rest of her day. She would go out with her new companions, have fun and maybe they could actually become friends. Although she did admit, even if it was fun making friends, it was sad to leave them too. She never stayed in one place for too long, since her passion was traveling and going on adventures. But if she stayed in one place it would no longer be the same.

Candy clapped her hooves in excitement and looked back and forth at the mares next to her, "This'll be fun!" "Score!"

 

She continued eating, and finished quickly, then went for her drink, which didn't take her long either.

 

She looked back at Pink Mist, "So when do you two think we should go?"

Dawn made her way through the winding city streets and found herself in front of MusicMare. She pushed into the club and milled around waiting for the show to start. As per her way of doing things she looked around the club waiting for something to pull her in any direction, be it the movement of the crowd or an interesting pony. This time the crowd acted as the force pushing her towards the area just in front of the stage.

Starshine quickly stepped aside, barely avoiding the creamy squirt. "Whoa, take it easy there fella. That cake ain't going anywhere," he laughed. His eyes wandered for a bit. "I'm from, well, you can say I'm from Fillydelphia. I was born there, but I never really spend much time in that town. Yourself? Why are you here? You doesn't look like the traveling type."

Vaguely recognising one of the ponies she passed as the one she had met on the street earlier, Bubble headed inside the building simply following the general flow of movement, not really knowing what she was doing.

 

'MusicMare', it sounded like a decent place, why not? And it was clearly popular enough, given the number of ponies heading towards it.

 

Everypony else seemed to be in groups and she didn't really recognise any faces.

 

"Hi!" She said as she neared the stage, singling out a pony who seemed to be standing on her own, before having to repeat herself slightly louder, not having anticipated the volume of the background music.

 

"Hi! Mind if I stand here?"

"Not at all!" Dawn shouted over the music. "I'm Dawn Windswept. You here for the show?"

 

Dawn shook her mane out of her braid and started to move to the music. The flashing multi-colored lights and the spectrum of ponies' manes and fur made the club more colorful than a crayon box.

 

"A bit psychedelic here isn't it?" She laughed, "And what is your name?"

Pondah took a few more bites out of the cake until it was all gone. He wiped a small piece of dried icing from his mouth. 'Not bad cake.' Pondah thought.

"Show...? Yeah! Well... I just kind of ended up here somehow, but I guess I am now! It's great in here!"

 

The colours, them lights and sounds, she was telling the truth: she loved it! So did everyone else it seemed, which just made it better in her eyes.

 

She tried to not start asking questions of her own, but simply couldn't.

Starshine laughed uneasily. He was rather unfamiliar with that feeling, being unable to settle down in one place for too long. Traveling," he answered briefly. "I like going around places. I just ran out of bits, and now I'll have to wait here for a week or so until I can gather enough to leave the city."

 

He tugged his tattered saddlebag closer, feeling the familiar bulge of its only content. "And... Do you have any idea of where you're going or whatever? I assume you're not just trotting around without any direction."

With this idea rushing through his mind, a tear rolled down Pondah's cheek.

Bass chuckled, and the pony's smile raised his spirits a little. "Nope, the shows starts here in a minute, actually. Heh, you look like you really want to make an impression with that outfit." He cracked a smile, and as an aura of dark orange came over his horn, the door to the club swung open. "Shall we make an entrance?" He adds, his hyped up DJ attitude quickly returning to him, and his new disposition became quickly visible.

 

"THE SHOWS PRETTY AWESOME TONIGHT!" Kaz bellowed at Bass Clef but was still drowned out by the overflow of noise erupting from the enormous amplifiers which stood higher than anyone in the room. Out of nowhere, he noticed a golden-haired mare inside the seething crowd and his gaze fixated on her.

Rut-Light had been home for about 10 minutes now, and he's had Bubble on his mind for a while and he had to admit something to himself; she seemed a bit like those who get distracted easily.  He didn't know it for sure but it was a hunch to him, for all he knew he could be making assumptions.  He noticed it was nearing night time and decided to have a late dinner then go to bed, he did work tomorrow after all.

"THE SHOWS PRETTY AWESOME TONIGHT!" Kaz bellowed at Bass Clef but was still drowned out by the overflow of noise erupting from the enormous amplifiers which stood higher than anyone in the room. Out of nowhere, he noticed a golden-haired mare inside the seething crowd and his gaze fixated on her.

Bass could tell the pony was speaking to him, though he couldn't quite make out what he said. Either way, he seemed to be enjoying himself, and Bass was too. He had to go talk to the DJ after the show, for sure! That was for later, though. At this moment, he noticed the pony had turned to look at some mare across the floor, and he leaned up close to him to be sure the pony heard him when he asked "You know her?"

He stood there not being able to gather any words and all that came out of his mouth was an incoherent mumble whilst the DJ pony looked on at him bewildered. "How long's the show get left? I need to go introduce myself." Kaz asked inquisitively with a voice laced full of excitement.

"I could walk you there." Candy rushed out the sentence, and she knew it was just a bit too quick to seem casual. A slight blush appeared on her cheeks. "Uhm, if you want, at least." A defensive grin grew across her face. She started to stand up and turned to @, "Are you two ready to go?" She said, half-excitedly, so as not too look as excited as she actually was.

Bass cocked his head at the pony, and chuckled. "The show's just beginning; you've got plenty of time to go meet her, dude!" He himself hadn't really been in too many relationships, though, since he was always travelling, but he was considering trying to change that sometime. After all, he was just a normal pony, and still prone to get lonely eventually, even if his DJ attitude didn't show it. He then turned to the side to ponder these ideas for a few moments.

 

 

OOC: Heheh, I'm actually working on some vectors as I sit here, so it's no big deal ^.^

Sunny Dew was surprised by Candy's blurt and blushing, but chalked it off as excitement to get to MusicMare and possibly her personality. She set her napkin on the table and stood up. "Uh, s-sure, whenever you're ready. Y-you don't have to if you don't want to though, it's just a block or two away."
