Why do gamers fight over Xbox and Playstation?

Anyways, the reason why is because of the hard core gamers who complain about what games, exclusives, features, and other types are better.

Because they want their favorite console to seem superior than the others, simple as that.

 

I don't get why people care so much, though. If the other people are happy with what they have, then let them be. People have different tastes, and if it doesn't effect you, why should you care?

 

I think it's fine to support your favorite console and be open about it, but not shoving it down others throats.

I think it mostly has to with people want the game that they own be the best thats why the fan boys go off, for me i jave owned both xbox abd ps3 and they both have good games for em i ended up selling the xbox cause i liked the ps3 games better

same thing i owned both but its just that microsoft should just stick to their pc's not more (this is my point of view btw) sony has been in the gaming industries since what 1999~2000? even before? also the PS3 comunity is bigger, u dont have to pay for online gaming (ehem xbox one)

Some people complain because they can't afford or don't want the other console so they like to argue and say that the other system is worse. In reality though everyone is going to have a different opinion on the matter so I don't know why saying bad stuff about a console to people is going to change anything other than making someone angry. In my honest opinion I like the PS3 better and I've owned both of the systems. It just caters to what I would like to play more so than the 360 does and I'm not saying that the 360 is bad. That also goes for PC too. I hear alot of people saying that the PC is the best but there isn't really alot of titles I would like to play on PC plus mine sucks so I can't play them anyway without it looking really bad and the framerate dropping etc.

I totally agree with you, but the problem is people do care.

 

For some reason on line (and in RL to an extent) people just HAVE to defend things they like to the death. It's basically fanboyism (and even I ahve fallen into it's trap once or twice).

 

People also want to feel like they have gotten one over on someone else, and when they do they want everyone to know that what they have is better.

 

Some people are just like that in the end its better for everyone to have 2 good consoles then just 1!

Because sony and Microsoft lead the console market nowadays. You either have one of those or a wii u. One has to be better on the and the best way to do that is to attempt at making the ps3 seem better than the Xbox360.

 

Or become a PC gamer and realise the true meaning of life is pc gaming.

Then of course it's fanboy wars, what do you expect? I will say product A is superior to your product B but in the end they have their perks over one another and their cons.
