I think Sunset Shimmer is my new favorite character...

After watching Equestria Girls.. Sunset Shimmer.. Even though she was evil.. She's still my favaorite character... I have no idea what to say about her exept that she's awesome. What are your thoughts on Sunset Shimmer? Do you think she's pretty or evil? I think she's pretty. (Sunset Shimmer fan! XD)

Well, I quite liked her as evil.  She may have not had much background or have been completely smart, but I liked how she planned everything out.  I like how she was actually a bit more evil then some of the other major antagonists.  (I'm sorry, but didn't she say that 'Twilight had to die'.  C'mon.  Its ponies.  That in ponies is awesome.)

And also, she's so pretty!   I have her toy.  Its my favorite.  I needed it.  She the only pony toy I have that isn't one of the mane six, royalty or CMC.

But then she started crying and everything.

But after that I still sort of loved her.

So I quite liked her!

My thoughts on Sunset Shimmer is, she didn't really impress me as being a villain. But, the reason was she wasn't used properly at all and that she had so much potential until we saw her demon form then being defeated with just crying after she was beaten. She could have been a very good villain, but that didn't work out so well.

It's not that surprising. Some fans like background ponies as their favorite character. Sunset at least has a personality and a story to tell, so she's not that bad of a choice for a favorite.

 

Anyway, I like Sunset Shimmer. She wasn't executed as well as she should have been, and if we never see her again then I think that would be a waste, because her backstory definitely had some points of interest. I think for what it's worth, she wasn't completely one-dimensional as a villainess given her change of heart at the end of the movie. She's a character with potential, but unfortunately, she was wasted in a lot of ways.

 

Also, for those who still aren't that keen on Sunset, at least read her IDW backstory comic.

Yes, for no reason besides losing, she has a change of heart. I totally buy that she was sincere.

Sure, I'm all for agreeing to disagree. I don't really agree with how she turned nice so suddenly either, but I blame time constraints for the movie having not explained things better.

From what I've seen, she seems really hated and frowned upon.

 

I don't have an official opinion of her, but I will say I do lover her color scheme, even as a human.

Ah truth be told she's not 'Evil!" no she was just lonely and wanted a friend but sometimes that can be hard for some ponies so they become jerk stores, or I guess you could say "Evil!". As for liking her? yeah I do cant say I love her! but I like her, I would buy her a beer.

It was neat how she planned things out despite her being dumb and failing. I also liked her demon form, that looked pretty cool.

She had a lot of potential but she was way too underplayed. If she was in the show I think I would have like her a lot more and I think she would have been a lot more fleshed out. But as it stands now she's just kinda there, she's not very memorable to me.
