@gyruss: I just call them palindromes . I have even classified them: normal (12321), type 2 (1212), partial palindrome (12343, the 343 makes it a partial), and type 3 (12312). Can you see the patterns?

I guess it's because numbers are set, there is no challenge in finding a palindrome.  Words are harder because you can't just mash up any letters, they have to be in an order that creates a word.
