In the original Dragon Ball Goku was a child raised in the wilderness by his Grandpa Gohan. At least until his grandpa passed on. Goku then lived alone in the wilderness for awhile. Training and growing stronger. He couldn't even tell the difference between a man and a woman at first. He thought a car was a monster and attacked it when he saw one for the first time. He never went to school, ever.

 

 Oh, and he has a tail. None of this is in the movie. They also miss a bunch of other important parts of the original series. The movie get's literally everything wrong.

No. The original had much more interesting characters and setting. Evolution didn't just get everything wrong, it didn't do anything right. The acting is bad, the fighting is bland, the story isn't nearly as well presented, I didn't have any connection to the characters, and it has no sense of humor.

 

 The original anime was better. The sequel series Dragon Ball Z was better. Dragon Ball GT, no matter how flawed, was also still better. Evolution is just... wrong.

Oh, that reminds me! In evolution they referred to the Kamehameha as airbending. It could turn out lights and even heal people.

 

 That's not how it's supposed to be at all! It's made of Ki and it certainly can't heal people. It's supposed to be one of the most devastating and dangerous attacks there is.

Ki is a sort of energy that all beings have. It's what the Dragon Ball characters use to produce those massive attacks that blow things up. It's made up of thins like courage, and being in one's true mind. It's also dependent on the physical condition of the user. It's hard to explain it in full. It's actually an element of real martial arts, though without the giant energy beams, sadly.
