The quote is relevant to the character I created and his standing in life, as well as mine. It sounds a bit nihilistic, which is how I come off to my friends.

 

I always loved the book of Ecclesiastes. I feel as if my life is following that pattern and I would really love to write some stuff that goes along those lines. It's telling me what I should be hearing.

 

The phrase "chasing the wind" comes up at least four times in that book.

Hmm, interesting! Glad to hear you have identified with a book akin to, in your case, a guide; such connections can really help a person. I haven't read it myself, but it does sounds pretty artful of word, little wonder you want to write stuff with the same tempo and tone.

The damnedest thing is, I wasn't even thinking about the book when I picked my OC's name. I always read Ecclesiastes, but once I randomly picked it up one day I saw the words "chasing the wind" in verse 2:11 and something set off in me like the moments in the key episodes.

 

Now I have to start finding a way to enjoy life, which I'm having a lot of trouble with right now, but that's a topic for Life Advice.
