Night Base!

 

Oklahoma weather is all over the place. Last year it was snowing in April. It doesn't normally snow in April here...We've had some freaky weather for about the last 6 years or so. Where Oklahoma City sits in particular is kinda in an area where 3 different climate zones meet up so we've kinda got a mix of humid continental, humid subtropical, and semi-arid climates. It's why we get so many tornadoes every year. Warm gulf air from the southeast blends in with the cool dry air from the mountains to the west and you get rotation and bad things happen. But it also gives us A LOT of variance in how warm summers are and how cool winters are. 

 

Again, it's -5° right now. Probably colder as I haven't checked in a while. And I think we've been below -10° this winter. I don't know that it's been above freezing today But when summer comes around, it'll be 35-40° all summer long. Where I lived in the southwest part of the state it was mostly dry and hotter. It sucked that it would get to 45° from time to time but the dryness really helped it to not be so bad. Oklahoma City is very different. It's much more humid. I hate summer here more than at my parents' house because sweating is useless here. 

 

Our equinox seasons are very short, too....It sucks because those are the most agreeable seasons. Like I said, it can snow in April though it's not that often. So we get about 4 weeks of spring and autumn. It's pleasant. It rains. Sometimes tornadoes, but we don't mind them. They're really the nicest seasons. But it's like they're so short, we go from snow and then immediately it's summer. Til mid-October. Then it's nice for a few weeks. Then in mid-November, it's cold. Til early April. Then it's nice til mid-May. xD If it would be 20 to 25° all year I really wouldn't mind it! It'd kick the crap out of what we have right now!

Since it seems like the thing all the Westerners are doing, I think I'll go to bed too.

Well, at least you probably have air conditioning and cheap and sufficient power in the summer I suppose. We do have air conditioning too, but there's a looming power crisis in the summer, which may cause some random and probably extended periods of blackouts. That means less CTAM time and fun during th e break AND lots of sweat produced due to heat aggravated by lack of power to power our cooling fans let alone our air conditioner and computers.

 

Pretty interesting how another power crisis is happening, and that it's happening under the administration of an Aquino. Back during the term of the "democratic hero" Corazon Aquino, there was a power crisis aggravated by the privatization of our power grid to the hands of her greedy cronies. And now that her son's in term, there goes another looming power crisis imminent during the peak power consumption months of the summer. Like mother, like son!

 

So much for the "changes" that the 1986 EDSA revolution brought upon us. :okiedokielokie:
