Assuming it's a laptop with SODIMM DDR3 RAM, I suppose you can swap out the RAM from that one to your current one with lesser RAM, right?

It's overkill, yes, but then again, why not? Because it's just sitting there doing nothing in a laptop with a broken display.

 

And who knows, there might be something that may benefit from that extra 2 gigs of RAM, like Inkscape, especially if you attempt more detailed scenery and stuff.

 

But then again, your choice.

Oh okay, so that's the time of DDR2 or even DDR, and speaking of that, they're pretty much hard to find nowadays in the generation of DDR3/DDR4, and even if you find one, they'll probably be more expensive than anything DDR3/DDR4 of any capacity today.

 

I suppose the only economical way to remedy that nowadays is to upgrade to a new laptop.

Filly, remember, my track record with computers is horrible. If I even attempt to Frankenstein these computers, things can and will go horribly wrong. Plus, this computer is still under warranty for 3 years. I'm not risking it.
