It's not ageist unless you act upon some kind of negative discrimination (prejudice) but to treat people differently according to their social standing seems relatively normal to me.

Eg. You wouldn't entrust certain things to minors such as drinking and driving a car.

 

I believe there's a time and place for everything, but many people feel the need to rush into responsibility.

 

On the other hand, if you're elderly, I don't really see a problem if they're incapable of performing tasks.

 

Well, the system sure isn't perfect, but it's FAR better than some other countries.
