I think it has more or less to do with the fact that a vast majority of users on this site do not have the same interests I do. It just sucks that people aren't drawn into things outside of the box like I am.

Smash, you called Scratch's one a "rush job", pretty unfair if he put a lot of effort into it. Yes, I know it's your opinion, but maybe your should keep it to yourself rather than basically saying that to his face.

My work is damn good, and you know it is. It was clever, it was unique, it was different, just like all my other work. It should have done better, and maybe it was my fault that it didn't. I thought I did the best I could with what I was working with.

Smash, quit it. People didn't share your interests. Your banner was well made, but just not what most people were into.

 

 I don't care about Portal, but I'm not angry that it won, because lots of other people are into Portal. If I made a banner combining ponies with something I like, and other people don't vote for it because they don't have the same interests, that doesn't mean my work was "Too much" for them. It just means they liked something different.

I'm not doubting it's quality dude, that's why it did as well as it did. Better than anything I could do right now. I think the reason why it didn't get what you expected was that people didn't get the Kiss reference, they saw it as just a normal CMC banner.
