Is what sustainable? A job at Walmart? I don't know. I don't want a pizza delivery job lol I'd be putting a lot of miles on my car and I might want to sell it later. It'll be a great selling point in 10 years if it's only got 80,000 miles on it.

Seriously, I've only had my car for 3 weeks and the odometer only reads 525 miles. I literally drive 2 miles to work each day. I don't want to put a bunch of miles on my car for a minimum wage job like pizza delivery. Besides, it wouldn't be that much time. I know I would be giving up my evenings and working 10 hours a day is a lot, but it's not new to me. I grew up on farms, man. During harvest, we'd sometimes work 17 hours a day in May for a whole month to get our wheat out of the fields. Working an extra 12 to 18 hours a week would suck, but it's nothing I can't handle. Especially if I end up in financial dire straits and I need to takeon a second job.

I don't think you're going to really like working at Walmart.  It doesn't seem like the kind of job that would engender love.

It doesn't. But we're talking part-time. Seriously. i wouldn't be spending that much time there. And I'm certainly not making a career of it. It's supplemental. A boost. In case I need to do it.

You don't understand. I suddenly ended up in a lot  of debt when I rebuilt my computer and bought a car.

I meant sustainable in so much as you dealing with it every weekend.  I understand about not wanting to put wear and tear on your car doing delivery, but unless it's different where you are, delivery isn't minimum wage, not when you count the tips.  Regardless, I guess it wouldn't hurt to try Walmart since you can always quit.

Okay, I see what you mean. Well, we'd have to see. If I need to do it, I'll stick with it even if I hate the job. But honestly, if I do early Saturday shifts and a couple hours on the weekends, I'm not in terrible shape. I spend a lot of my weekends doing absolutely nothing so why not take my time and put it to use instead of wasting it? If I'm not going to school, why not make my time worth something? If I go the route where I sacrifice a little bit of my evenings to work there and work 6 to 3 on Saturdays, I still have 7 hours of my Saturday and all of my Sunday left to just chill and get chores done.

But we're still in the speculation stage. I don't know if I even need to do it, and if I don't, I probably won't. Or maybe I will only work there on Saturday and a tiny bit on Sunday and still have my evenings. See I don't even know for sure if I'm going to do it. I just know that if I need to, that's my Plan B. And I don't think I'd have trouble getting work there. And who knows? Maybe they won't start me at minimum wage given my credentials (college degree holder, honor grad, etc). I don't know. It's all speculation.

You're overqualified with having a degree.  You should just walk in there and be like, "I'm the captain now" and take over the store.

Ah if only it worked that way  But then again, being overqualified, I may get a better pay rate. I may be selected for a job that doesn't involve the deli or meat departments lol Maybe I'll just be a cashier. Having an accounting degree and a main job that pays much better (like, easily double what Walmart would start me at), I'd probably be low-risk for any crimes lol

Hey. I might just become a part-time manager *kekkles*

.....Or maybe this is all just wishful thinking :derp:

Maybe it'd work if you were going to be full time.  Stay away from the deli department.  One of worst jobs I had was working in the deli at a supermarket.  You probably couldn't start as a part-time manager right away, but it could happen!

I have a lot of blue shirts and khaki pants that I wear to work. I've actually gone to Walmart in my work clothes and people have asked me where things were thinking I work there just because I was wearing a blue shirt and khaki pants

What I'm getting at is that I have enough blue shirts and khaki pants that I should have no trouble fitting in at Walmart lol

But if I do have to get a job there, prepare to see a lot less of me.

I've got a hole in my tooth still, had it even since before I came to the thread.

It needs something done, but I'm literally terrified of dentists.
