Well, there were some complications with the reinstallation of GRUB2, but it all worked out in the end

I am on Kubuntu 15.04 for almost 24 hours now

I'm glad to hear, I was a bit worried. Your opinions on the switch in 15.04 to systemd? (If you knew about it)

Loved it. It was all superb. No particular favourite really, it was all great. I can't remember any names either, just found a playlist and tapped play.

It's a group of system management daemons....... *awkward silence* ...... It's a command line thing no one understands. "Ooooh, right..."

 

I think it sucks. Booting and shutting down takes infinitely longer now. I want my 'init' back...

Really? It takes longer?

I was uber surprised by how fast it was xD

Windows 8 needs like 2 minutes to shut down and this was like 5 seconds

Naa, for me, init does it in 2 seconds. With systemd, sometimes it takes as long as 3 and a half minutes, and for Linux, that's fucking ridiculous, pardon my French.

 

Sometimes it doesn't boot at all, and I just get no input from my graphics card. Then I use upstart as a backup daemon and then it comes on quickly, but not as quickly as init could. Ugh, I hate systemd so much

lol ok, I will watch out if spot things like that happen too

But I am pretty sure they have their reasons for it, as it's said "Never touch a running system" Systemd must have some advantages over init when they replaced it ^^

except exactly the day where I leaved to class trip, there it seems it wasnt shut down, because I had to sign in by pressing my profile that only appears, when new started or went to stand by. so it was technically on for a week
