0 - 60mph in 2 seconds. Higher G Forces than a space shuttle launch. Sweet Celestia... But I already promised I would do it.

I used to really enjoy Roller coasters, then one time we went to a theme park and suddenly I was too scared to ride them.

 

 Not even sure why, just suddenly they were completely terrifying.

I love rollercoasters, shame there's no good ones near me

I don't really go to theme parks in the UK much. I went to Blackpool Pleasure Beach last year and did all of the wooden coasters. They were really shaky but incredibly fun.

 

The Big One (The UK's highest and fastest roller coaster) was shut because of high winds. Not that I would have done it anyway

No, my last ride on them before this was lot's of fun. I was just suddenly really scared.

Try not to think of your fear as a fear of rollercoasters; just think of it as a fear of death.

 

No really, if you try to see it logically, you will realize that you are not afraid of the ride itself, but rather the thought that some harm might come to you during the ride. Then you can reason that the particular ride has an excellent safety record, and thus it would be very unlikely that anything disastrous would occur upon you riding it.

I'm not scared of dying on a roller coaster. The odds of that are minute. I'm worried they'll scare me TOO much (especially as I have a history of anxiety problems) or make me violently ill.

 

That said, there was a REALLY nasty roller coaster crash in the UK earlier this year.
