Well, so that means he thinks that I should buy like an old-school GeForce 8800GT or whatever the game's recommended grapgics card is instead of the current-gen GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon R9 290 for a particular game to work. If that's the case, then I should have soooo many graphics cards piled up in my house from the old AGP-base GeForce4 Ti to the current gen "best of the best" GTX Titan or 980s or R9 290Xs. And I'd be hot-swapping GPUs from time to time just to play a particular game.

But the fact that he thinks that buying a PC instead of building one doesn't make sense, I mean, aren't the parts less expensive than the computer?

And doesn't the price of the computer include the case for it too? (Considering that we have two different old PCs that are pretty much junk, I'm sure we wouldn't have to buy a case)

• Die beste Waffe im Spiel ist der geupgradete Plasmacutter. Also möglichst diesen verwenden.

I guess either AMD or nVIDIA. Either way, that logic doesn't make sense. -_-

 

Well yeah, saying buying computers instead of building them, in general, doesn't really make sense. I mean, look at this prebuild by Dell and this custom build. Yes, I've downgraded it to an i5 and 8GBs of RAM, but if we put it in a gaming perspective, you won't really utilize the full potential of the i7 since games don't really benefit from the extra threads or "virtual cores" so to speak of the i7, and 16GB is just overkill in anyway unless if you do some editing. The GPU in the Dell is oookay, but the GPU that I've thrown in the custom build will wreck the one in the Dell prebuild in anyway possible way, and that's for costing roughly the same.

 

Well, yeah, if you try to make a build similar enough to the Dell, it will cost roughly the same. But then again, their parts lists don't make sense; It's unbalanced for the price.

 

Not sure about installing brand spanking new hardware on old school beige cases, that feels sooo Frankenstein-ish, and who knows the hardware might not even fit. But yeah, in case of a custom build, you'll have to pick and pay for a case that makes sense to your budget, how it looks, cable management options, and its compatibility with the hardware. :comeatus:
