Well an OC doesn't have to act like their creator.  I was saying that if it's based off of them, then it can count as one.  But an OC is any original character you make. 

 

For example, all the Muppets would count as OC's for the guy who created them.

 

Or Stan Lee and all of the superheroes he created.

I haven't seen it so I cannot fairly criticize it, but honestly I have gotten so used to Toby McGuire as Peter and James Franco as Harry Osborn and Kristen Dunst as MJ, that it is hard for me to see others as those characters. 

 

Though in MJ's case she is replaced by another character.
