I seriously doubt that. For every Starlight or Twilight unicorn, there's a thousand moar Snips and Snails and Bluebloods. Just as for every Rainbow Dash, there's a thousand moar Zephyr Breezes. And in turn for every Applejack and Big Mac, there's a thousand moar Daisys and Lilys. Magic and flight are cool, but they're hardly essential to survival. Take a page from the yaks, they manage fine without magic OR weather control and they live in the frozen cold north. You don't need flying wings or a shiny magic horn sticking outta your head to stay ahead and feel good about yourself.  

I admire that amount of pride and bravado.

Anyways I'm still hungry.
