BTW, it's narrated from Riley's first-person (first-pony? ) POV. I nonchalantly skip down the evening path, whistling a little upbeat tune as I go. I'm on my way to get some inflatable toys. What's the occasion, you ask? Anala's birthday party! I decided that a pool party would be perfect for her! I've already booked an outdoor swimming pool at Manehattan Fitness Suite, called up dozens of our friends, and left a note on Anala's apartment door telling her where to go. Now I just have a couple of hours to buy the inflatables, blow them up, and be ready at the door. Perhaps this will take us one step closer to being more than just friends. At last, I reach my destination. A shop that is rather small compared to most buildings in this bustling city. But the size isn't important; from what I've heard, this place has inflatable toys galore! I step into the shop, taking my time to gaze at all of the merchandise. "May I help you?" comes a voice from behind me. I turn to see a grey unicorn stallion, probably middle-aged, behind a counter. "Yes, please," I reply, looking through the plentiful options again. "I'd like a balloon pump, ten beach balls, and..." My voice trails off as I decide what else to purchase. "And ten rafts, please!" The stallion reaches under the counter and comes back up with what I asked for. "That'll be twenty-five Bits, please," he says, so I hoof over the money. "Oh, and this is free as part of an offer I currently have going on," he adds, and gives me a small cloth bag done up with a string. "Ooh, what does this do?" I ask, eagerly examining the bag. "Why don't you wait and see?" he replies. "Well... okay. Goodbye!" I say. With the inflatables and cloth bag in tow, I walk out through the door. "Come again," he replies, waving. As I trot away, I could swear I heard him mutter under his breath, "He did seem the naive type..." I decide not to dwell on it, and rush away. I have a party to prepare! I reach MFS and gallop through the halls (I start race-walking when a mare working at the places gestures towards a 'No Running' sign) and go through some tall doors at the back of the building. Here it is. A swimming pool in all its splendor. Without a second to lose, I use the pump to inflate the beach balls, and then the rafts. I'm done in about fifteen minutes, and toss them into the water. I then remember the bag. I open it, and unexpectedly... multi-coloured sparks fly out of the bag, then fly around me, before vanishing into thin air. I raise an eyebrow at this, but then feel a strange sensation in my rear hooves. I look behind me, and place a forehoof on a back hoof and it feels like... plastic? The sensation spreads further up my legs, then over my torso, and even my mane and tail. Then another strange thing happens. I feel my insides changing. Like they're... disappearing. The interior of my body just feels filled with air. It doesn't hurt, it actually feels quite soothing. But it doesn't help my current panicky state. I feel something on my right flank. I turn and see that in the middle of my directional arrow cutie mark, there is a translucent plug that you see on just about every inflatable. For inserting and releasing air. I try to move, but my body, which feels much lighter, is frozen in this position. I attempt to call out for help. I don't take into account from whom, or even how anypony will hear me from this far away, it's just a natural reaction. Oh, I bet you're wondering why I said, "attempt". Well, it's because I can't move my mouth. In fact, it feels as if that sensation is spreading across my face as well. I can't breathe, but fortunately, I don't need to. As it all comes to a halt, I realise what I am: a pool toy. A latex plaything. My mind simply doesn't know what to do now. I was opening a bag one minute, and the next, I'm an inflatable toy. Those sparks must have been some sort of magic. But with what intention? Is this supposed to be a curse, or for fun? I'd be willing to believe either one, because pool toys are fun, but at the same time, it's rather frustrating being unable to move or speak. I realise that I will not be stuck in this spot for long, because I hear hoofsteps of multiple ponies, and then the doors swing open.
