I haven't seen the comics in physical form, however, and I wouldn't plan to buy them until I'm already living on my own. I don't want my brothers finding out I like a 'girls' show', especially my eldest since he jokes on me all the time...

 I don't really care all that much if people know I like the show anymore. Long as they don't find out about things like my interest in fanfics or the show's forums I'll be happy.

 

And I am interested in the comics specifically because they have to do with ponies.

I don't usually read fanfics at all, I've read about 3, including that one that Rising wrote, which I'm about halfway through.

 

Most people have actually seen me on the forums and they don't seem to care that much, they even think it's "awesome" to some extent, I'll never know why, but it is pretty awesome if I do say so myself!

My parents are the whole "Everyone on the internet is out to get you and nothing good can come of it ever" mindset. Which is why I wouldn't want them to know because they would probably get really upset.

 

 Rising seems to be getting better with grammar and spelling on his own. You can see the improvement.

So, out of boredom, I've managed to Tagalog-ize the names of the Mane 6. Most of them are direct translations to Filipino, but two of them feature out-of-context yet effective translations. Spot them... 

 

Twilight Sparkle - Silim Mamilansik.

Applejack - Juan Mansanas. (Sounds a bit guyish, but whatever...  )

Rainbow Dash - BahagHaring Pagsugod.

Pinkie Pie - Buko Pie? 

Rarity - Inday? 

Fluttershy - Sumikdong-Mahihiyain.

 

I could imagine those names if MLP gets syndicated in local TV and dubbed in Tagalog.  

Those names are so long.

 My parents give me tons of privacy. And they don't really care what I do for the most part. But I think that might be because they expect me to never talk to anyone online. I'm old enough that I don't think they would do anything other than be upset, but there is that nagging worry that they would go the "Our house, Our rules" and try to stop me if they knew.

I saw a Fluttershy that must have been at least 20cm tall in EB. It was gone the next day.. 

The forums are usually pretty friendly, depending on where you go of course!

My parents are both active forum goers, so no troubles here!

I know I'm old enough to know what I'm doing online. I'm not stupid and I'm not going to do anything that would put myself in danger. And I'm pretty sure nobody on this forum or this thread is interested in trying to do awful things to me.

 

 Televison Swirl. All those news reports of people talking to strangers online and getting kidnapped and stuff like that.

The media can be very misleading, especially with the internet and the "bad things" that happen.

Last week on my trip home I was listening to some spiel about how forums endanger people.

Pffft, it was all publicity of course, and to get approval.
