I HAB RETURND.

Um, explorer.exe is just the program for the Windows Explorer shell, and not one of the processes that make your operating system boot and function. So that includes the taskbar, icons, system tray, and folders and stuff that makes Windows familiar to everyone. Closing it will just make the explorer close down. The OS will still be totally fine, albeit impossible to operate (though you can use the ol' navigation path execution code like back in the DOS days) since the GUI interface is closed down.

Looks like you have some rolling fishyness there in your computer Base... :o

Alright, can someone else here please just go into the task manager, open up the Resource monitor and take a look at the network bit. Tell me what TCP connections are showing? Because I have a large number of Explorer.Exe and BTvStack.exe in there and I don't know if that's normal.

Alright, stopping the BTvstack.exe in the task manager got rid of most of them. Got rid of all of the Explorer.Exe's except for one too. Now it's just running that, some Chrome.Exe's and BTtray, which I think is more normal.

It's not multiple instances in the task manager Filly. There's only one in the task manager. It's in the TCP connection thing that there is multiple of it.

But Explorer.exe is taking up 18MB of memory.

It's the Resource monitor. Right now it's showing a bunch of Skypes and Chromes in the TCP connection thing. at the moment, which I do have both open. I just don't know if that's normal, and I can't find an answer.

In the task manager. If you go to the performance tab there is something called the Resource monitor at the bottom of it. Going to that, and going to the Network tab, there's a section referring to TCP connections. That's where all the stuff is running.

I don't know if it would be the same for you though.
