I like Football

 

Don't honestly know the rules other than don't touch the ball with you hands and only goalie can be in the goalie box (though he can be on the entire side that the goal's on) but I do like Football

Speaking of football, why is American Football called football when 80% of the gameplay doesn't involve the foot?  Would've been called eyeball, handball, or 20% football...

Actually I think it's only named such because of punts (ya know...that 10% that actually does involve the feet). I think it may have originally been called gridiron, though I can't confirm it.

Well, a football game (I'll just call it like that, since that makes more sense than (20%) football of 'Murica. ) has a time limit of 45 minutes per half, so an effective 90 minutes of total gameplay...

 

I've heard than American football is named to the Imperial measurement foot. But then again, IIRC...

I love watching the Misleadingly Named Ball Sport Involving Little Use of Feet Originating in the United States because there's a lot of action. I mean, it's funny that the refs won't let them beat the snot out of each other when that's what they're being paid millions of dollars to do Big hits are pretty cool to see.

 

And Super Bowl adverts. I love Super Bowl adverts. It's the one time of the year that adverts in the US aren't horrible and painful to sit through

I recently heard a study, from a university in some state in the US.

 

An American football TV broadcast goes for about 4 hours. In those 4 hours, we actually see only 11 minutes of gameplay, the rest is filled with commericials, camera shots of the players, audiences and coaches who pick their noses.
