I'm reading Jon Stewart's book "Earth (the book): A Visitor's Guide to the Human Race." It's hilarious. It looks a lot like a school textbook. Anyway I'm reading this chapter on the weather and here's a paragraph I found particularly funny

"From the beginning of television, weather played a prominent role. More than 10% of our half-hour newscasts were given over to a weatherman, who despite his name didn't cause the weather, merely predicted it. These predictions were so valued that we were willing to endure two minutes of science to hear them. Soon weathermen weren't enough. We needed full-on weather reporters, journalists who would stand in severe rain to alert people not standing in the rain that it was raining, and that they should not stand in the rain."

Below that it's got a guy sitting in a chair watching the weather and it's bad and right above the TV is a window, and it's obviously storming outside. The text off to the side reads, "Thanks to the miracle of television, this man knows the weather is bad."
